I'm working on Armax Arena, but so far, my highest score is 9500.
I did some searching on the internet for some advice to get a higher score and all I got was what I call "Biotic Solution syndrome".
To explain, everyone who writes guides makes assumptions you are playing as a biotic and therefore, finding a guide written for a Soldier is hard.
Does anyone have any tips for a Soldier to get the maximum score?
And don't mention grenades, since I don't use them.
How does a Soldier get max score in Armax Arena?

In my experience, score is mainly dependent on the bonuses you enable and the tier of enemies you are fighting. Set to Super Elite and add in as many score bonuses as you can. You should break 10,000 points that way, even if you don't get a max kill streak bonus.
No grenades is a decent handicap since some of the best squaddies for Armax score are grenade spammers.
But other than that, run decent weapons and build with Amplified CS and Incendiary Explosive Burst. Suppressor is probably the best overall gun, unless No Thermal Clips is on, then the Lancer is. Use Suppressor on mooks, with ARush, then CS spam armored targets for chained fire explosions. Use your squads to assist with combos via their powers.
Ash and Garrus is a decent enough squad even w/o grenades since both have CS which is a fairly rapid combo detonator and they both have adequate health. Garrus also has Overload for shields and Proxi Mine for Damage Taken bonus against high HP targets.

I tend more towards power based characters, so I can't give you any tactical help, but the following settings were used when I cracked the 16000 point mark (16,310 to be exact):
Collector Enemy
Super Elite level
All bonuses except Player Enhanced Damage (total of +60%)
Wrex and Grunt for Squadmates
Shepard: Engineer, Specced for max in all talents*
Sentry Turrent: Armo-piercing ammo, Rockets
Combat Drone: Armor-piercing ammo, Rockets
Defense Drone bonus talent
Main weaponry: Geth SMG, Phalanx pistol
Main Weapon used: Cryo burst (Cryo blast followed by Overload, specced for Organic use)
Wrex: Specced for Max damage output
Shotgun, Omni-blade mod (he does like to melee enemies)
Grunt: Specced for Max damage
Shotgun with Incendiary Ammo
*By this, I mean that Shepard and ALL squadmembers max out their talents. No empty selections, no leftover points. This can only be done if you alter the .bin file
My brother tried this with an infiltrator. He failed.

Forget about the squadmates. You get a bonus for going solo. For Soldier, equip your best weapon, activate explosive ammo and spam concussive shot and adrenaline rush. Fire explosions everywhere.
Nowadays, I play for fun so I don't use this strategy but if all you care about is getting the highest score, this is the best method for the soldier.
To be honest, I always chuckle when I see threads like this. If you're having trouble, most of the time it's because you're over-complicating things. This game is pretty simple. Not much thought is needed. Regardless of the situation, the answer is always POWER SPAM.

Basically what everyone else said.
The easiest way for me:
- Enemy: Reapers
- Difficulty: Super Elites
- Map: Wingman
- Difficulty modifiers: At a minimum, No Thermal Clips, No Medi-gel
- Weapon: Lancer
For extra cheese, take squadmates with assault rifle training and give them the Typhoon.
Equip Incendiary Ammo, then shoot and spam Concussive Shot. A lot of health and armor, so lots of fire explosions.
Plus Typhoon cheese on squadmates makes short work of everything.
On Wingman, enemies appear in one of three places: (1) Up top where you start, (2) just down the stairs to the right on the raised platform, and (3) at the far end.
If you stay up top near the right near the stairs looking down where enemies can spawn, you have a good vantage point for all three spawn areas. Makes for some easy killing.
I used this method to farm credits.

Thanks for the advice,
I got the top score with the Wingman map.
I didn't think I'd make it at first, but apparently, the bonus added the extra points to break the limit.
I used Ashley and Grunt with Typhoons and I carried a Particle Beam weapon.
Why the Lancer though?
Is there something special about that gun?
I've never used it, so don't know what it can do.

I'd go with the Typhoon and IEB.
You can keep firing as long as you need, which allows you to keep up kill streaks.

Lancer has relatively high burst DPS. You just have to not expend the whole clip, which means it is better leveled to V or X really.
It has no heat up time, unlike the PPR, which makes it better in Armax since you mainly fight humanoid enemies.
But as said it is best if No Thermal Clips is enabled. If you get the ammo pickups you are better off with the Suppressor.
