Except for which side Hawke chose to favor and any NPCs Hawke chose to spare, I can't see any plot points in DA2 that would impact the storyline of DAI. It seems most of the quests in DA2 were personal rather than global.

Try taking off all of Wynne's clothes and you'll see that this isn't remotely unique to DA2 (and I resent the implications of "fake").

But in Origins all human female NPCs had the same body, Morrigan´s model I think, who is hot but didn´t look to have gone through surgery. DA2 on the other side... well... if you use as models women who have implants then the character is going to feel that way too. In a medieval fantasy setting (in The Witcher books it´s said sorceresess do alter themselves to their liking, but don´t think that applies here).

At least it looks Morrigan didn´t went through whatever happened to all ME women.

does "non at all" count as an appropriate answer? ;)

joking, but yes, i don't want most of it...there are a few things, like:

mage-melee :) (poking in DA:O was not a good idea IMHO)

force-mage-specialisation (also not at the expense of more interesting ones like bloodmagic (this time i would want to be able to do what NPC-Mages do with it - it feels bland and boring in DA:O and DA2), spirit-healer etc.)

...(can't think of more things...also i know there are some!)

greetings LAX

Whatever else we see, I don't thnk there will be any change in this.  There will be one male model and one female model for each race and all clothes/armors will be built around it.  Allowing for the customization of body type would drain too many resources that could go into other aspects of the game.  The devs have already said that in order to allow for multiple race Inquisitors, resources were cut from background stories.  They're going to have to build armor for 6 now instead of 2.  I'd like to be able to customize my PC but I'll be satisfied knowing that it's a small price to pay for a better game.

A lot of the specifics are being discussed, but I was just wondering overall how much some of you want DA:I to tie in with DA:2?

6.02 X 10^23 molecules. That's how much DA2 I want.

Oh, come on... no one thought my chemistry joke was funny?

Mage attack animations. They seem very much alive in DA2 compared to DAO, where they seemed lazy.

It's more of what I wanted eliminated for DA2 rather than what I want included.

- Remove the horde mode of enemies.
- Remove the using the same map multiple times.
- Tone down the every templar is a bastard and every mage is a blood mage bit.

I didn't think DA2 was all bad. But I have bad memories of it and the design decisions. I remember feeling so angry about them being so inspired by ME2.

I prefer them to forget about DA2. Rather than emphasize how important the events of the game were and what a great character Hawke was.

I remember DA2's release as a painful period of time that I don't want to revisit. For whatever reason I still have negative associations with it.

None of it.
I really don't think that DA2 did anything better than DA:O. So let's just pretend that DA2 never happened.

I would like DA2 to tie in very much with DAI. But I'm guessing it will be like DAO for DA2, a few mentions here and there. Maybe we'll get some stories from Varric.

What I do hope for though, in regards to DAI, is that epic story does not equal lackluster and unsurprising plot like in DAO.

Honestly, about as much as it looks like they're keeping from it, and no more. So:

Individual character styles (but with tons of customization)
More involvement of companions in story dialogue
Player character involvement in banter (but improved)
Voiced protag (but without the personality system and its restrictions)
The dialogue wheel (but improved)
Day and Night (but improved, with the weather etc.)
Qunari horns
Better mage animation (both spells and combat animation)
Faster combat animation (but not choppy)
Oh, and more weapon styles, building on it
Better walking animation, emotions in faces, all that
Continue with the cool alt rock end songs. Posted Image
... ... ... that's all I got.

For story, I hope a number of characters from both games and dlc show up, and I hope to see both the Warden and Hawke, but there's not much more than that to take from DA2 that jumps out at me. From DA2, I hope we see Merrill, Isabella and Anders again, but they're all from Origins too. That's about it. Beyond the LI and which side characters lined up on at the end, I don't know how much there is to take really. Well, Feynriel, where Isabella is, the eluvian's status, and if the elf clan survived or not. So, six, eight plot flags I expect to see pop up somewhere?

DA2's a thousand times better now that it was on release, and it's still not up to Origin's level, but there were some things it improved on. I'm thrilled with everything we're getting back from Origins for DA:I and the new features so far. Hopefully it'll do really well and we'll get playable origins back for DA4, whatever that will be. That's the main thing missing this time that's very important to me. Everything else looks improved so far. Combat will be better than DA2 for sure. I don't know how it will stack up with Origins, but I'm optimistic.

I sure would love some more of that terrible and contrived Mage/Templar conflict.

Hawke's story is over so I see no need to bring her back. The events that took place during her seven years in Kirkwall did influence the state of the world we'll see in Inquisition, so I'd like them to respect and reflect those where appropriate. A good example of this would be Varric reacting based on the nature of his relationship with Hawke - whether it was friendly or a rivalry and how they were all caught up in events.

Only thing that I'd actually want from Da2 is the skill trees.

- Faster combat, but with some seriously toned down animations. A middle ground between DA:O and DA2 would be best.

- Cross-class combos

- Improved skill trees

- Friendship/rivalry (though it can still use some improvements)

- Companions with their own agendas (e.g. Merrill's eluvian, Isabela's search for the Tome of Koslun, ...) These can have an even bigger role IMO.

- I hope DA:I will stand mostly on its own story-wise. I liked both previous games, but trying to bring characters or minor plots into DA:I would probably feel forced, like Alistair's cameo in DA2 for example.

There are certainly things I'd like to return, such as the persuasion system and the rivalry system, but it seems like we won't be getting either.

Wait, what indication have we gotten on the rivalry system taking a hike?

combat speed at least, i'm okay with something a little more in depth for inquisition without the waves and all from da2, but i will not miss the """tactical""" (which is to say awkward shuffle) da:o combat

aaand im prob in the minority with this one but i want the aesthetic and the themes.

i know ive said it before but origins was stock fantasy. well executed stock fantasy with really well written characters, but stock fantasy. i didnt like the buildings, didnt like the castles, didnt like the ugly peasant clothes, didnt like the armor with the giant ridiculous wonky pauldron things, didnt like the orcs darkspawn design, etc etc etc.

i want da2's more interesting look, it was more stylized and less tolkein. and as far as themes go i liked the political intrigue and social themes and so forth as opposed to origins' "lets stop the evil thing engineered to be pure evil" thing

tl;dr basically i would like to see da2's style and themes with origins' good execution and storytelling
