The hat does pull it altogether, doesn't? Nifty.

I foresee a moment in DAI after our Inquisitor has lost all of his/her friends, families, and loved ones to the Big Bad. The Inquisitor is in chains at the feet of the Big Bad broken and defeated. In a whimsical moment of fancy the Bad one takes 'that hat' and tosses it into the fire. I can only imagine what happens next but something alone these lines would work:

I have a hat like that IRL.

Seriously OP, since you're a Sergio Leone fan, you should have acquired such a hat long ago.

Well, after having chatted with the producer for Dragon Age Inquisition, the lovely Melanie Faulknor, I have to do my best to rally up some fan demand for THAT HAT (which is from now on the official name for it!) Because concepts arts are present in droves and implementations into the game in question (can't put all the stuff their artists dream up with into the game without bursting those hard drives!), the whole thing about it being present in the final game or not is hence subject to basic economics, which means demand.

I hereby generate my official part of the fan demand for THAT HAT. I want it, I will buy the game for it!

That only works if you won't be bying the game without it. Are you willing to go that far? Even if the very existence of THAT HAT is at stake?

You got to go with the natural progress. First you generate demand for an object. Then if sufficient demand is present but not getting fulfilled you go on to the point where you vote with your wallet.

Can't go around saying "I'm not buying this thing unless it has THAT HAT" when you're the only one. Their reaction would be "duh sucks to be you then".

How dare you question the power of the allmighty "Preorder cancelled"!? Infidel!

I wish you luck on your quest for dashing headwear, though. That might be the true force behind the mage rebellion.

Templar: "No freedom for mages!!!! You'd all destroy us!"
Mage: "Who's talking about freedom, I'm just sick of those damn condoms you make me wear. Give me a real hat damnit!"
Templar: "Errm ... I didn't expect that, will relay."
Grand Devine: "Wut.?"

I really hope That Hat is an option for mages, or I may have to consider doing my first runthrough as a rogue.

Just look on the Internet for 'musketeer hat' and 'cavalier hat'. You'll have to browse a bit, but you'll get the hat you want. I advise reenactment stores / artisans who specialise in 16th / 17th century stuff.
Good luck.

Edit: Heh, in-game of course. Still: good luck ;)

The problem is even if I have a pimp hat, my Inquisitor still wouldn't have one.

And me sitting in front of the PC wearing a pimp hat AND my PC wearing a pimp hat would be the only true way to play the game. Along with a shaved rabbit on your lap that goes by the name of Schmooples.

Sounds you already have a backup plan in case the hat doesn't make the final cut. Go for it! :P

If I decided to roleplay a swashbuckler or similarly-styled rogue, that hat is where it's at. 10/10, would hat. It's just I wouldn't say it works for every class, though. For a Warrior/Paladin, I'd prefer either the classic badass helm a la Arthas, or something a bit more Hood-y like the Judgement Armor.

But yes, I can respect the hat. :P

Grand Devine: "Wut.?"

Grand Divine:"Those condoms aren't supposed to be worn on the head! Are they so stupid?! Go and teach them the proper use of them, Templar."

Templar:"But what should they wear on their heads?"

Grand Divine:"Go and snatch some of the Inquisitor's hats, he has plenty for all of the Orlais."

---------------------------------------------

Templar:"I'm confiscating these hats on the Grand Divine's orders Lord Inquisitor.

Inquisitor:"WHAT?! Don't you dare! DAT HAT is mine! I'm done with the chantry and the templars! I'm going to kill you all!"

-------------------------------And so the Inquisitor sided with the mages and mages were freed--------------------

Unfortunately, that's concept art, not a screenshot. Even so, the demand for that hat more than one year before release may make them put it in even if they hadn't planned to before.

Yes, I know. However I think it's rather promising that we have seen this musketeerish hat appear a couple of times now. It makes me think that the artists at least like it as much as we all seem to and that can only be a good thing for potential hat inclusion. I think really the genuinely enthusiastic response that the costume seems to have prompted is it's strongest argument for inclusion. If it can excite the emotions of non fans, we might even see a hatted Inquisitor on the box. Time will tell :)

You can ignore this too!

Unfortunately it's not a hat
It's just the crow in shape of a hat - mimicry!
