Not a fan; too befitting of pistols and Musketeers. While I am a fan of that setting in other games, it does not seem to fit in the lore we have been experiencing these many years.

Buyachakka - OMG, you are so right! I can't believe that I never saw it! As soon as you mentioned it was actually a crow the shape became obvious but I don't think I would ever have seen it by myself. The funny (or is the word I'm seeking humiliating) thing is that I've been looking at that exact picture for ages wondering about the rock markings and I couldn't see the bird in the hat! Not a great day for me, all in all.

We are going to be spending a large portion of the game in the Dragon Age equivalent of France, a Musketeer style hat seems pretty fitting.

That Hat's the Day 1 DLC companion, calling it now.

Seriously though, I'd preorder just for the sake of getting That Hat, but I'd be a little upset. That Hat is something that should be earned through tough choices and harsh level grinding, to aquire it by throwing a couple extra bucks at the developers would seem...cheap.

Its perfectly fitting. Don't you remember Leliana regaling you with tales of orlesian hats? (and shoes!)

Also remember that Ferelden is considered incredibly backwater and smelling of dogs by the country with the fancy hats.

The hat should be a new game plus item you get after beating the game. NG+ with 'that hat' will include new amazing and wonderful powers, extra dialogue options, as well as the hat being able to serve as a flotation device which will take you and your party to the fabled island of Nuglandia.

The hat is very nice for a mage as well. Imagine entering a room, wearing something like the Fugitive's Mantle, a simple staff in one hand and the hat casting shadows on your face. That's a good entry for a mage.
