Generally I'd like something other than English/American. We have plenty of those already.

What about a heavy irish accent then? :D Like the Dalish Clan in DA2

Ha, I didn't actually mind those, but I know a few Irish people weren't so keen!
Maybe we could go Scottish, with an obligatory "MAKER NOOOOOOO" thrown in there at some point?

Or find a good Glaswegian VA and get them to play up the incomprehensible angle of their home town.

I missed you advocating Russian before. That's a sound plan, I love Russian accents. Do we have any regions that map to psuedo Russia at all?

I'll take a Ferelden accent over an Orlesian one any day of the year "shrugs"...So pretty much anything but Orlesian.

You thought Riordan had a bad accent?

I think his VA would be epic for an Orlesian PC, though perhaps better suited for an older character like Duncan.

As awesome as Riordan was the same VA that did Riordan also did Hubert in DA2 and his accent was annoying. What's your point?

Uh...you do realize that Hubert was intended to be an annoying ******, right? And that his VA was intentionally hamming it up for that purpose? Obviously if that actor were to voice a protagonist in a Dragon Age game, that protagonist would not be anything like Hubert.

If you are going to be snarky, at least try to follow it up with a valid point.

My point is Riordan and Hubert sound the same and french accents annoy me. I made the latter pretty clear in my first comment :P

Except for Leliana, for some reason her voice doesn't annoy me.

Well I'm AU... and I have to say "no", most AU accents are toned down in movies made over seas and I thank god for that. If I heard a bushy accent in game I would cringe (I loved Chips Rafferty many years ago, that was then, I don't want another). I grew up on a sheep station and I enjoy my occerism's, just not in media, Paul Hogan = embarrassing.

French or Welsh or Scot or Irish would be nice, no NZers though (sorry Kiwis), a fush and chups line would be more then I could take and bring back bad memories of the All Blacks :) .

Soft Irish, Welsh, or Scottish accents would be ideal. Or just a silent protagonist.

ive grown rather fond of Edward Kenway's Welsh accent in AC4. Something like that would be cool.

No Irish accents please. Or at least make it an option to either be selected for those who want it and those who don't. I think our PC is going to be from Kirkwall so a standard American-ish sounding accent is what I think would be ideal.

I guess my memory is a bit rusty. Sorry I haven't played DA2 in awhile. But I guess to me their accent was kinda less there? Lol

I'm kind of open when it comes to accent for the Inquisitor. I can deal with either an American accent (yes, I know there are many accent of American, but you know what I mean), an English accent (like Fereldan or Free Marcher), or French (Orlesian, if done as well as say Leliana). It all comes down to the voice actor for me.

:o:pinched::sick: Oh noooooooooo, no no no no no NO!
I sincerely hope not (and not anything like Leliana's either (I can't stand that voice, sorry))

I know it's horrible of me but...anything but French!

...and the same goes for me  (if it's meant English with a French accent, that is)

And, as a Swede, I sincerely hope they won't use a "Swenglish" accent (which I truly doubt anyway. Whew! LOL).

edit:

Since they speak English (well in my games anyway), I really rather prefer they use American English, Canadian English, but I guess maybe I would prefer British, Scottish or Australian - I think...Naaah, it doesn't matter, as long as it is English,
and not a made up French/Russian/Swedish (lol) accent). ;)
(I, myself, speak a horrible mix of British/Swedish/Mississippi-accent lol)

Brummie, Scouse, Geordie or Yorkshire. Basically anything English that isn't Essex, posh or BBC pronunciation.

I'd prefer it wasn't another English (Fereldan) accent again. How many times can the same region save the entire world. Just feels a waste to have every PC be from the same place given the options Thedas presents.

It's not a deal breaker by any stretch of the imagination. I'd just be slightly disappointed. Part of me does hope it's Orlesian just so the anti-French crowd have to stomach it. But any new accent will be very welcomed. They're all foreign to me after all.

Except an Irish one that is but wouldn't mind that either, never played with an Irish voiced PC before.
