Yeah, voice in the PAX demo definitely sounded Fereldan.
Bah.
I won't play an Orlesian?
First piece of bad news I've heard about the game so far...

Sigh. Why does Vivienne have a British/Ferelden accent????
Damnit she's Orlesian.

Vivienne, first in line to be in charge of the ORLESIAN circle, with a disticntly ORLESIAN name - English accent.
Looks like we'll have to wait until DA4 to have a PC who does not have an American/British accent in a Bioware game.

It's a bit disappointing. Seems like they've opted not to have French accents in the main party. A shame but there may be slender hope these are placeholders...though it seems unlikely given the other companions have their voice actors in place for the scenes.ManchesterUnitedFan1 wrote...

They have already established business relations with Miranda Raison and Brian Bloom, so it probably wasn't that hard to get them back this early in development. Vivienne is a new character, so her voice probably isn't locked-in yet.

That is indeed the hope. It's not a major disappoinment, as I've said, but I was looking forward to more Orlesian accents. And maybe a PC who didn't have a safe English (Fereldan) voice. But there's time yet for that to be proven wrong.Marten Stroud wrote...

Mass Effect had Shepard, who was as Canadian as back bacon.

P.S. I'd of preferred a "non-Fereleden" accent, but if that's the one they go with (and not a place holder like some have suggested). I would be more than okay with that, haha.

Depending if they were born and raised in Ferelden. Varric may have been an underground dwarf before coming to the surface. Fenris didn't have a Dalish accent since he was born into slavery in Tevinter.Mecha Elf wrote...
