I was gonna post this in the Origins tech thread, but that place is sorta......dead IMO. Stuff is over a year old, but I just need to know if I could possibly run DAO on my laptop

Specs

IntelCore CPU i3-2330M 2.20GHz
Dell Windows 7 Home Premium
64GB RAM
64 Operating System

Have no idea what the graphics card is, but it's pretty low. Any way possible I can make this game chug even on low settings?

Start....control panel.....system.....device manager.....display adpaters...

That should let you know what your grpahics card is which is very important in regards to whether you can run certain games or not.

Should a machine not function upon striking the panel marked "on" this is an omen of great ill. The reasons ascribed may be as follows. Firstly, the function of inadequate preparation on the part of the operator. Secondly, the action of the machine whose spirit may refuse the binding of the operator. Thirdly, the malintent of some third party upon the operator or machine. The operator must repeat the ritual from the beginning re-purifying himself, enscribing the runes, intoning the incantations, and striking the panel marked 'on'. An accompanying oath may be made. Should this procedure fail, the operator must recourse to consulting the instruction manual.

The issue here's the graphics card. I was able to run DAO on a Pentium 4 but with an Nvidia Geforce 7600 graphics card. I posit to you the following courses of action:

1) Go here. This website will check your computer's specs against minimum and recommended requirements.

2) Regardless of what anyone tells you, if you've already bought it, you lose nothing by installing it and trying anyway.

That was expected. Probably 3000. In any event, if you already have the game, just install it and find out.

HD Graphics means you have an integrated GPU (on the same chip as the CPU), which is generally a poor choice for gaming. I'd recommend a dedicated GPU from either AMD or Nvidia. (Let me know you if need more specifics on that.)

Well how would I do that?

I have the DA series on 360, but the PC version just looks sooo good

Check Amazon for GeForce GTX cards. 600 and 700 series are currently the best from Nvidia. A GTX 650 is probably more than good enough for what you'll be doing.
