Hard to imagine a dwarf having the same voice as a human. I mean in Origins the races accents were all different.
Bioware managed it with Swtor, having many different voice actors who said pretty much the same lines.

Bioware split VA in TOR by class, not race.

The Inquisitor will be voiced by Microsoft Sam and Anna.

Not to mention SW:TOR was an MMO and likely funded by microtransactions/subscriptions.

There are vastly more than 6 inqusitors.  There are as many different inquisitors as we can imagine.

And yes, they should each have an appropriate voice.  I have no idea how BioWare might do that.

ZERO chance of having a separate voice for each player character. Do you know how costly that would be?

This. It is all but guaranteed that there will be two voice actors, one male and one female.

Honestly, that is also all they need. Who says the Elf is going to be a Dalish or the Dwarf is going to be from Orzammar? It would make more sense to give the Dwarf Inquisitor a surface origin and to have the Elf Inquisitor be from one of the alienages. Both could also be from the same nation as the human Inquisitor. There would then be no need to have separate voice actors, as they'd have the same accent as humans.

When they decided to do the additional origins you had to assume they had to go out and hire additional voice actors.

Seems unlikely. Adding races seems like something that just barely happened so I very much doubt that they'll have the time or money to have six different voice actors reading off an entire game just so the races seem like they have a more 'realistic' tone.

I suppose there might be some machine that could record the voice and then distort it in some fashion so it sounded different.

You never know though. I am sure i remember reading that EA were practically throwing money at this in the hope that it would help save them.

That's something to hope for at least all though I find the likelihood of them hiring six voice actors kinda small.

Nope. Don't think so. Too much resources spent which could be funneled into bug fixing or gameplay testing/refining or DLCs or expansion ....

I honestly think they will have only 2 but they will use computers to alter the voice tones to make it slightly different for each race and gender. That way everyone is unique yet it is not too costly

You're on a roll today, saying things better than I could.

As long as my elves are city elves, they could have 1 voices or 100 voices.

I doubt it. Six VAs voicing all of those lines is ridiculously expensive.

So a machine will alter the voices .
Heavier and more gruff for a dwarf.
Light and somewhat airy for an elf.
Humans in the middle.

I doubt there's a tech that works like that.
At least not ideally.

I highly doubt there will be a VA for each race. However, MAYBE the could do 2 males and 2 female voices. Then we could choose which one we wanted. That would be nice, but I think it will probably be too expensive on the budget both financially and in terms of diskspace.

Disc space isn't really an issue anymore, considering next-gen consoles will have blu-ray drives.

DA:I will be on Xbox 360 and it doesn't support Blu-Ray and while BR does have a lot space more than DVD it isn't infinite.

That would cost far too much time, money, and resources.

Well Volition had 7 VAs for the PC in Saints Row IV.

Yeah, but a lot of their funding went into it. I love this aspect of Saints Row IV, but it's not doable for every game.

Depending on the voice actor, one can easily do all races and not sound absurd.

Fenris' voice for instance would work just as well on a human/dwarf as it does on him. Same with Velanna's voice.

I'm pretty sure the SRIV PC doesn't have as many lines as a Bioware Protagonist.

To be fair, I don't know if the cost of voice acting is as high as some people are suggesting. Sure, if you get movie stars like Martin Sheen, then you're going to be paying a lot, but look at Saints Row 4, it has 7 different voice sets. Obviously SR4 is not going to have the same kind of protagonist word count as a Bioware game, but I do think it is at least possible (financially and technically) that there would be 2 voice actors(male and female) per playable race.

I do not think it is viable financially to do it, considering how much dialogue these games have. O thin bioware will stick to 2 voice actors, and maybe try to edit the voiced with the programs they have available: if the edited voices sound good then use those, if not then use the same voice for every race.
