Didn't Harrowmont die in the epilogue? I think that the current King of Orzammar is something that isn't set in stone (pun intended). They have some leeway to create a story that allows Orzammar to be open if it makes sense for the storyline (or closed if that makes more sense).

He lives if you side with Branka and make golems. He uses the golems to great effect to silence Bhelen's supporters and those who oppose his rule, but his more merciful, more traditional style of ruling gave Branka much more leeway, and when Harrowmont stopped sending peopl to be sacrificed to make golems, it's rumored Branka arranged raids to the surface and on the casteless to continue making golems.

Whoa, i never did that option, I didn't want to kill Shale, but i barely played a noble.

You can always recruit Shale after you do Orzammar.

Huh. That's more customization than I assumed would happen.

speaking of customization, how does the dwarf community feel about shorter beards? i'm talking about beards like duncans or hawkes. i personally would like to have a shorter beard for my dwarfquisitor.

Sounds good to me. I like all manner of beards... or no beards, like Varric and Leske. Image IPB

Well yea on my main canon dwarf, i have the beard that kind of look like Oghren but not quite.  This thread gets me all excitied for being a dwarf again in DA:I with all the customzation things we may get, that i could have never had in Dragon Age Origins. I'm hoping for more bright blue eyes and a chance to make a good looking dark skin dwarf.

If I were playing a male dwarf, I'd support shorter beards to suit a surfacer more intuned to human culture, my male dwarf in DA:O had a really elaborate one. But it's femDwarf for me this game, she's gonna be a ginger with freckles if I can manage.

As for darker skin, the one time I plan on not having a darker skinned character, and it looks like the game will be making better lighting for darker skins, go figure. Maybe I should go back to my routes.

Ah! These are where my people are. How come I never found this thread? Well that is neither here nor there I found you all and I feel at home.:D
But enough with the heart filled sentiment. I read the entire thread and was surprised that Zerlinda was never mentioned. Well I guess I'll start then... what did your Canon warden do with Zerlinda and her child? In my Canon playthrough (which was a female dwarf commoner) I believe I convinced her father to accept her back. My fem!dwarf could relate on what she was going through became Dust Town is no joke. And didn't Zerlinda say that she would send her son to us?

Welcome, fellow dwarf lover. Image IPB

Most of my Wardens convinced Zerlinda to go topside. Especially my casteless girl, who felt the surface world had been very good to her... lol. And yep, I believe she said she'd send her kid our way... I doubt we'll see either of them ever again, but it's a nice sentiment.

I'd really like to see Bhelen and Rica's son, actually.

Heh, I'm really excited to see what kind of dwarves we can make with the character creator. We haven't been able to make our own since they were "redesigned"... speaking of, exactly how much did dwarves change between DAO and DA2? We didn't see any lady dorfs of course, but I think the men got a little stouter in the shoulders, wider in the face, and presumably both sexes lost the gorilla arms they had going on in Origins.

Welcome to the Dwarf thread, when the devs don't want to anger the dwarf fans .

I had the same view as you, but my character was male and I could relate better to the kid, since he was a boy and his father left them or died, can't remember. I'm hoping for more deep dwarf interaction like that and to even see her again as my Dwarf Inquisitor, if we go to Orzammar again. :D

Because we're prepared to go to war.:D
But I agree, I would really like some more dwarven interaction in DA:I. I have been wanting so badly to go to Kal'Sharok and find out how they survived for so long. Or going back to Orzammar and see how Rica and my nephew are doing. I really cannot wait to be a dual wielding Fem!Dwarf again!

Yes and just think of been a sarcastic dwarf walking around!!! The male dwarf face did get wider in DA2 and they seen like that probably got shorter and more bigger in weight size. :D But Varric as a Dwarf in DA:I looks great and different from the DA2 dwarf.

Yea cause it was less in Dragon age 2, only with Varric scenes and deep road and yea lol. Your like the girl version of my main canon dwarf comm warden, I want my Dwarf inq to look up to my Warden, not like the other people just still think of him as a casteless person. I'm a archer MaleDwarf lol hopefully sarcastic. So i'm guessing you and i will be keeping Varric in our party!! :D

Most Definetely!
I already made Varric a perma-companion.Image IPBI want my Dwarf Inquisitor to be sarcastic too and I really hope we get a battle of wit fight! And if Varric is a LI (which i really hope does happen) it will be glorious! I have been aching for a dwarven romance and so help me if it doesn't happen I will be so upset! Image IPB

But I digress...

It's always good to know that my castless lady dwarf has a male counterpart. If they met up, Thedas wouldn't be able to handle such awesomness!Image IPB And on the subject of Dwarf Warden and Dwarf Inquisitor, yeah I believe that my Quizzy looks up to my Warden. Not hero worshipping or anything of that nature just in awe of her.

<------ Dwarves rule. Cant wait to be a dwarf again. Only problem is making one. I like making my characters look like me. This was less of a problem in DA2 since Hawke was human and loom like his own person. My warden looks like me so I have to devise a good appearance for my inquisitor that doesnt make the game silly.

True about what Branka did it seems.
I only saved her once.I'll have to decide if I want to import that one for DAI.
