Can't wait to play a cute and deadly little lady dwarf again. Super excited.

I wonder if with Char gen, we're going back to preset faces Instead of sliders.

Doubt it. I'm guessing will be presets, but they can be modified.

Ahh, Dwarf lovers unite.

Heh, with the way things were goin for the dwarves at the end of Origins, there may not be much LEFT of Orzammar. Putting that aside, a Varric/Oghren drinking contest would hold more priceless dialogue than any discussion between Morrigan and Alistair ever did.

Like DAO and DA: II. Seems odd to go back to presets when reintroducing races.

The dwarf Origin we pick could be from the Legion of the Dead or even Kal Sharok.
The female dwarfs were cute.
Might still be an issue with Gaider .
We'll see.

Yes. This thread is where my people are at!

I'm thrilled to be able to finally make dwarfs again! I'm totally one of those dwarf fans who will go to war, so I am overjoyed by the return of the best race in the game!

I absolutely am certain that I won't make any Inquisitor that isn't dwarven. I'm torn between a male or female, though, for my first character. Since dwarf ladies get so little love from pretty much all game designers, I LOVE the idea of a FemDwarf Inquisitor to match my FemDwarf Warden. But I also love the idea of making a rugged dwarf fellow too.

Do you think that there will be ANY lady dwarf NPCs of note? Outside of Branka, all of the lady dwarfs in DA: O were secondary. I've already given up hope that there will be any other dwarf companions outside of Varric.

The stuff they were saying about the Kal Sharok dwarves in the world of thedas has me intrigued. I'm wondering if they all somehow turned grey warden-like or found some other way around the darkspawn taint.

It would be cool to see Shale in her true form, and as obnoxious as ever

Actually, I could totally get behind this.  I'm normally against returning companions, but I would love to have Shale Cadash (in true dwarf form) as a DLC companion.  I think that she would be the battle mechanics would be different enough that she would feel fresh and it would be really interesting to see how she adjusts to her new form after hundreds of years as a Golem.

Kal-Sharok is the other known dwarven city. It runs completely independently from Orzammar. It's referenced throughout DA: O in the codex and I think there is a quest relating to it in DA2. I don't read the books or comics, so I'm not sure if we know much more about it at this point.

There probably won't be any returning dwarves in the game bar Varric, Bodahn and Sandal. Bodahn and Sandal will be there as they're a thing now and Varric is already confirmed.

Other than them, I guess whomever you put in power if you visit Orzammar would be neat if you return there in the game.

I hope those aren't the only returning ones! I still really want to see Dagna The Dwarven Mage. She could also be really really useful. Think about it, when all the other apprentices were doing their practicals, she was still studying the theoreticals. She's probably quite the expert on magical theory by now, may she could give some advice to the team about certain side quests or something like that.

We could have her as one of the non-companions helping out the Inquisitor in his/her castle.

There should be the "drunken dwarf" skill tree, wherein we fight like a handicapped gorilla with a four foot carrot up our arse...

...and still win the day with sex, blood, booze, sex and booze.

I'm thrilled about having playable dwarves back. There is so much to explore and learn about them...I love that we can do so as one of them again :)

I'm hoping to see Kal-Sharok as well.  I'm definitely going to play a dwarf PC at some point as well.

I wish for... One-Handed Hammers to be in this game. for my Shield'n'Hammer Dwarf!

I hammer is a tool. you  are talking about a mace, and they are already in the game.

Sorry, MR_PN, warhammers were used following the development of plate armor but before the popularity of firearms.  Frequently one end would be a hammer to immobilize the joints and the other end would be a spike to get at the soft, meaty center.

Aaaaaaw yeah! I'm so going to play the **** out of the dwarf race they're so awesome OMG OMG >.<
Too bad they can't be mages... I guess that'd make them too awesome that people just wouldn't be able to handle them. :(

I wish we saw Sigrun again. I love that girl. The Aeducans (Rica included) would be nice too.

Yea Orzammar had some of the best parts of DAO so I am 100% hoping for Kal-Sharok's appearance.

Is anyone else hopeful that we'll see more ramifications for the Bhelen/Harrowmont choice than we did in DA2? If we get a peek at Kal-Sharok, a mention of the leadership in Orzammar is not unlikely...
