This makes me very very happy.  Plus, now we know a bit of the family origin.  At one point, the family was from Orzammar (as opposed to Kal Sharok).  I'm still interested to see if the dwarf Inquisitor is a surface dwarf by birth or exile.  Great find!

She looks bad ass.  It's awesome that they release a female dwarf concept art before the male.  That almost never happens for dwarfs!  Plus, we get a better view of the bald elf mage guy, who we haven't identified yet.

And something that is going to be even  more intresting is this from wiki "Cadash dwarves once gave shelter to elves fleeing the destruction of Arlathan, and the two races co-existed peacefully for a time."

And if we run into Kal-Sharok dwarves, something else from the wiki " Evidence suggest that Kal-Sharok discovered the collaboration, and (fearing this would spoil relations with the Tevinter Imperium) wiped out Cadash Thaig to cover it up."

So I don't think we are just some regular dwarf from orzammar or surface, and it would be even more drama for a Cadash dwarf to be around the Kal-Shark dwarves. Talking about revenge for wiping our the House of Cadash Thaig. Here is the link to the wiki, http://dragonage.wik.../Cadash_Thaig.

I'm thrilled about the Cadash name. Darn you Bioware for making my first race choice so hard to make. :-)

Yeah i'm struggling between FemQunari Mage or Male Dwarf Warrior. I know i'll be flipping that coin up until I finally load up the game.

(So excited to see what role Dagna plays!)

That's really interesting! Is that so?

If it's true, then I'm liking the Cadash line already. I love the elves and I'm interested in learning more about the clan that helped them. In fact, in Witch Hunt, when you're in the Deep Roads trying to follow the "Light of Arlathan," you learn about how some Arlathan elves fled underground to escape Tevinter and were taken in by some dwarves there, until the main city wiped them out to avoid hurting relations with the Imperium. I didn't realize this was the Cadash line.

Aaah! Now I simultaneously wish to play Cadash and play an elven character that can discuss this with Cadash. Ah well, playing one is fine. Sorry to drag romance into this, but I wonder if we'll be able to romance an elven companion (or two?) and the subject can come up between the two. "My ancestors helped your ancestors" and such. I think it'd be (bitter)sweet. ^_^

Yea if they do not have a dwarf female romance, (i will be so sad) but then i will romance a elf. Yea so it will be very interesting to run in Shale knowing we are from the same house somewhere down the line. If we are an Cadash Dwarf, than there should be others that have survive and we may end up run into them and getting automatic help from them. So yea im really looking forward to interact with the other dwarves of DA:I (specially Kal-Sharok dwarves).=]

So if we're from House Cadash....

maybe that means we'll meet Shale as a normal dwarf?!

Also, I'm so gonna be a rogue

I am wondering how the dwarf will be a surfacer, because even if Cadash thaig is abandoned and overrun by darkspawn (like many thaigs from other houses), the Cadash house could still be living in Orzammar like many other noble houses.

In order for the whole house to go to the surface, something quite serious would need to happen (like with house Tethras) for the house as whole to be exiled. What do you think could have happened? Or do you think the dwarf PC will be from Orzammar, but on the surface on a personal level instead of the whole house?

I already explain above, and got the quotes from wiki on Cadash lore.

According to the codex, the Cadash Thaig got slaughtered and then abandoned when Arlathan elves were still alive and fleeing Tevinter, so that would have been at least 2,000 years ago. (Since the lore establishes that the elves were slaves for about at least a millennia before Andraste, and it's been about 900 years since her.) A lot could have happened in that time.

In order for the whole house to go to the surface, something quite serious would need to happen (like with house Tethras) for the house as whole to be exiled. What do you think could have happened? ? Varric's entire house got moved to the surface in one generation because of one mistake. His dad got caught fixing Provings and they all got banished to the surface in disgrace. There wasn't anything "quite serious" or drastic; they lost face and they moved. It was that simple.

Besides, who said the entire house got moved? We only know that the protagonist bears the surname. If the protagonist is a surface dwarf, it's possible that in the 2,000 years since the Cadash Thaig was abandoned, only one or a few left for the surface, yet kept their surnames and continued to have children. Just because a surface dwarf PC has the name Cadash doesn't mean they were raised as part of the official House Cadash of Orzammar, or that the entire house is still alive and together on the surface.

Yea i touched on this a little early, but yea you went more into details, thank you lol. I think our Dwarf pc left to make his name into something again by joining up with the Inquisition. That just me though, I hope so much comes with our Dwarf with that last name and just in genera. Dwarf need more light and shine in this story, and I help this by being a Dwarf. :D

Leaving for the surface to make a name for him/herself makes sense, but leaving to join the inquisition doesn't considering that the PC will be the first member of the Inquisition in 1000 years. It's not really something that anyone in Thedas would "go join up with".
