Contrary to popular belief, Duncan didn't die at Ostagar. He actually killed everything in battle after the cutscene with his bare hands. He was, however, too nice to let the Warden not do anything and so he faked his death just to see how the Warden can fare alone from the Blight. However, he has vowed one day that he will return when the world needs Duncan again and so for now, he waits in the shadows, planning in inevitable return.

Duncan is so patient and benovelent towards new recruits that, if he is pleased with you, he holds you down gently and kisses you. Of course he only does this for the males, the women he simply congratulates them and gives them a hearty pat on the back. You see, the women get his cold treatment because otherwise, they start to moan and sweat and get wet all over as soon as Duncan gets into close proximity, and they will force their hands down into his pants for that 2h meat mace of his.
