Anyone else really excited for the next Mass Effect game?

I know nothing about it and I'm jittery just thinking of it. I play a ton of different games, but there's something about the ME franchise that always scratches that itch.

Is anyone else as excited? Do you really care what kind of game it's going to be, or will you just be happy that a new Mass Effect game is coming out?

No. I'll judge it when I play it, but I can't pretend to be excited about it. I expect it to be more of the same that I didn't like in ME3, maybe even turned to 11. To elaborate, I'm talking about a dumb narrow-minded plot, more autodialogue, dorky to competent dialogue writing and way too much emphasis on long stretches of Gears of War-esque combat. No. What hooked me in Mass Effect has been forgotten by the people who made it. That's really how I see it. I don't think Bioware is gonna turn the tides on their direction since ME2. The tide overflowed in ME3 and I think ME4 will be flooded by all the things I don't like.

I might play it, but i'm skeptical.

given that it will be in the "middle" and no Shepard....i am in honesty worried how this will turn out. so yes and no...yes, in a way i am worried and no, in a way that this "next" Mass Effect is in the "middle" time-line wise

and also, it's too early for any "information" on this "next" Mass Effect.

and when i say "middle" there won't be anything new aside, "side-things" that were going on ME1 ME2 ME3 time-line, hence calling it "in the middle" as far as time-line...

Since I don't know anything about it, there's nothing really for me to be excited about.

i remember reading an article from Bioware, that this "next" Mass Effect isn't  going to be a post ME3, but a "time" somewhere in the ME universe, during the events of ME1 ME2 and ME3...

if you want source just do a simple search concerning the "next" Mass Effect in a search engine, the most would call it "Google"

I'm morbidly curious, but always forget it's happening until I occasionally log in here and see a thread about it.

I don't remember that. I remember them saying that they haven't actually told us anything except no Shepard.

Hmmm Im excited? sort of? but im going to be hugely bummed out if its a prequel.. i mean knowing what happens afterwards, no matter if its a good or bad ending to it will just be like a slap in the face to me and id imagine quite a few fans.

if ME3 had ended better and with a bit more dignity then maybe we could stomach prequels so yeah i REALLY hope its a sequel if im honest, if it turns out its a prequel I will buy it and if the first hour blows then im sending it back.

I have searched, Nashtalia. I've never seen anything saying what you say they said.

Prove me wrong.

no pc or mac no sale.

(I dont hate consoles btw but i think its hugely insulting for them to completely bypass PC's & mac's considering they build the damned games on computers, its a hugely insulting double standard that the entire industry seems to be following.)

ERRRR...wait never mind, i just vindicated myself. it is stated that this "next" Mass Effect will be set in a new universe but will somehow be related to the original trilogy

one source:

given with this, i am still worried [on the grey way]....none.the.less.  :?

Nope. Hoping for the best, they still have a lot of strengths, just "other" priorities.

Link tags are your friend

And if you actually read that article, you'd find that it says  that ME4 is a new experience of the existing univverse, not a new universe. That headline is badly written
