My favorite class is Adept and my first playthrough in ME2 is going to def be an Adept.  I was just wondering what all the other Adept fans plan to pic for their Biotic Mastery.

In ME1 I always picked Bastion because I loved being able to damage people in stasis and the increased recharge times for Biotics.  But in ME2 its different Bastion gives negotiation bonus and a power/recharge bonus to Singularity and Pull while Nemesis give Power/Recharge bonus to Warp/Throw/Shockwave.  So what do you think you'll pick?

Nemesis. Far more useful abilities.

Nemesis. Unless of course, you're a homosexual.

I'll probably choose Bastion, Singularity was my main power.

Somewhere on the old forums Christina Norman added what the Biotic Mastery was for an Adept because she never mentioned what it was on any of the vids or in the IGN articles.

Nemesis for me. Although more info on ME2 adept specialisations will influence my decision.

I read that too. I don't remember she ever stating which powers got a power/recharge bonus for each specialization though... Gonna go check again.

EDIT: Yup, I read about it already. Can't make my mind yet, however.

Its funny because a lot people's Adept builds for ME2 are going to completely Neglect Shockwave so they can max out the other 5 abilities. So I wonder if Nemesis would be worth it if you are going to not put any points towards Shockwave.

It's going to depend on whether or not I want to use my biotics to CC or to deal directed damage. In ME1, Nemesis was for me, complete garbage when I could lock down groups of enemies with my Bastion and then support that CC lockdown with direct damage (warp). It made Insanity feel like very easy mode.

In the case of ME2 with new enemy defenses being brought into play, it's going to be very different if those defenses need to be dropped before the heavy CC biotics can come into play. If CCing lacks the effectiveness that it should have, I will go with Nemesis and focus on directed damage/blasts with CC support after the defenses are down.

Yeah I agree with you.  I think CC is going to be very different in ME2 because in ME1 Singularity was ridiculously overpowered.  But now we have to take down their defenses.

I picked Bastion in ME1 and going to pick Bastion in ME2. The way I see it, duration > damage bonus and I get a negotiation buff on top of that. Might change my mind until we know how the reduced cooldowns work between the specs.

Anyway, more votes to class/spec poll please. Look at my sig.

Chose Nemesis in ME1. If it turns out you can get the max negotiation bonus without having to choose bastion (through gear possibly?), then I'll choose it again.

Tough Call. I really like the longer CC aspect of Bastion, but with a short enough cool down it might not matter much. So I'll likely go nemesis. I mean really if I can throw another singularity before the 1st one wears off does the duration matter much. Yeah I might be able to have 1 more out there at the same time, but unless the swarms of enemies are way too large it does not matter much. Also depending on the targeting of singularity, I might not need pull so it will only be helping 1 of my powers. A global instead of individual cooldown makes powers that do similar things less useful.

I was a Bastion. Being able to shoot people in stasis made stasis a certifiably useful ability, and the faster recharge time of the abilities made it so that my abilities were literally available nonstop. I had barrier and singularity recharge before the effects of them wore off in the first place.

Probably Nemesis. Warp looks to be important to adepts to take down armor and barriers. I'm guessing the duration of singularity and pull will be good enough without a bonus to duration.

Singularity works like a trap now. It can affect whatever walks into it rather than just whatever was initially in the radius.

It'll be interesting to see what the damage/duration bonuses are for the specialties and what kind of cooldown in general is on biotics.

from what i remmeber

both give the same reduced recharge

one increases duration

one increases damage

and 1 or both give negotiation bonuses.
