This thread.
All of the difficulties above bronze have increasing time compression. It is irrelevant in a race between two characters on the same level.
I am interested in this footrace between Drell and AIU (and GI?). When will there be a video?
Later on today/tonight when I get home and record separate laps.

Without RM the AIU is much worse up close than the GI since PM staggers more reliably. It's also a better debuff.Beerfish wrote...

GI has snap freeze spam and great surviveability?
Does that anything to do with shotguns?, because this is about shotguns, not general stuff
Yes it has a lot to do with shotguns. you can take all the numbers and %'s you wish and add them up any way you wish.
Now lets look at something tougher to measure. How often in the game are you on your ass? How often is a team mate having to risk his neack because you have gone down? The AIU, even without repair matix is a better up close class than the GI. Snap freeze spam alone makes your shotgun a lot more effective.
Even though the GI Melee better then the sexbot melee build?Beerfish wrote...

Going down a lot doesn't mean that the AIU is the better kit, it means that one is a bad player.

Not many can play that style particularily against Collectors. It drains your shields and puts you within melee distance with the enemy. Deadly and effective as hell but hard to play for most.Beerfish wrote...
Funny thing about this is that for all the constant talk I hear bout how great the GI melee is I hardly every see it used. (Which of course has nothing to do with the point you made.)

Lightswitch and RJ duel it out over a game, whoever loses leaves BSN forever...whoever wins leaves BSN forever.

Bah. They won't get in each other's way at the start. It isn't as if foot races are complicated, or haven't existed for the entire history of mankind.Heldarion wrote...
Nah, they'd just get each other's way at the start. We're doing this for science.

I mean it isn't Rally where if they were going head to head 4 people could be killed.

What if the two players took the opposite route? Start back to back, one player makes a clockwise loop the other counter clockwise.

It's far tougher to on the run and under pressure get a good pm location off than it is to spame snap freeze through walls etc.

Interestingly a lot of Pugs seem to prefer the AIU. I've had rooms where I'm the only one not playing a Reegar AIU.
If you are a skilled player, the GI is better, no question. If you are not, or the lag is really awful, then the AIU despite being weaker is preferable (same reason the nigh-unkillable TGI is so beloved).

Man you just throw it to the enemy, you don't have to set a trap with it.

Of course PUGs prefer AIU, it has self revive and it is tankier and after all, they are PuGs

Proximity mine placement is cereal business and requires excellent strategic thinking and spacial awareness. It's not like it's some stagger tool that you just throw at the enemies feet or into a whole group of them. It's more like a yu-gi-oh trap card which you have to cunningly place in a location where you know enemies will walk through.

I rarely ever see bad GIs, they're usually at least decent players. AIUs on the other hand ...
