If anyone didn't know, you can hover over the percentage bars to see how many votes each series has.

Why do you even post here if that is how you feel? I don't get it, are you like a masochist?

At any rate, for the BioWare entries, it's looking like Neverwinter Nights, and probably mostly due to it's age and the demographics of it's competition. Mass Effect vs. Resident Evil, I think ME has a solid chance to win that one. Likewise Bioshock vs. KOTOR should be interesting. I would like to see the popularity contest of ME vs KOTOR though, who's the favorite BioWare sci-fi game?

I remember seeing one from Gamespy which named Diablo II the greatest game ever made, beating out Half-Life, in the final round.
So yeah...good luck and have fun voting.

Probably because it hasn't existed for a decade yet
I feel bad for Dragon Age, losing out to Dead Space like that. And I wonder if Mass Effect can beat BioShock in the next round?

Neither do Gears of War, Portal, Dead Space, 'Souls', Left 4 Dead, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Dead Rising, Forza, Uncharted, Assassin's Creed, Batman Arkham, Saints Row, Guild Wars, Trials, Resistance, Dragon Age, Company of Heroes, Skylanders, Wii Sports, Little Big Planet, Crysis and DiRT.Ajensis wrote...

So maybe not popular enough then? And maybe it'll change when Witcher 3 sees the light...

Things are going well for ME, but not so much for KOTOR.
Kotor 2 pretty much took care of that... thanks obsidian.

Yes, thx Obsidian for creating the best Star Wars stories ever and one of the very bbest written games in history. Seriously, even the rushed ending can't undermine the strenght of KOTOR2's story & characters. Besides, it's not like with barely 2 entires in the saga KOTOR franchise had much of a chance. And before you say "but Half-Life", let's not forget how much more popular Half-Life has always been and how modding, multiplayer and community has kept it forever alive. KOTOR never had thatArmass81 wrote...

Could it be because the first Witcher game was PC only and maybe didn't shift as many copies as equivalent XBox or PS3 exclusives? For 360 players, there has really been only one Witcher game, and that was Witcher 2. And for PS3 players, there is yet to be a Witcher game at all.
Otherwise dunno. Just seen as too much of a niche title, maybe? Like you say, that may change with Witcher 3.

I mostly agree, but KotOR 2 opens with the most egregious trashing of a previous game's finale that I've ever seen. It's also somewhat hostile to the Star Wars lore, which is a problem if you really, really like SW.

As in railroading the good/evil endings into 1 "ohh but then Revan abandoned good/evil thing he did at the end and went to Unknown Regions"? Not like it's not a legitimate complaint, however, it was actually a proto-attempt to not straight out ignore/retcon choices between multiple installements of a franchise.AlanC9 wrote...

People love to hate on Mass Effect choices not having big/any consequences in some cases across the trilogy save transfer or barely having a text mention, yet the older RPGs ignored, retconned or canonized 1 version of choices all the time. C&C was often much better executed withing the structure of invidiual games than in mass Effect franchise but as soon as it came to sequels, choices didn't matter. Obsidian clearly attempted to try to change that, and railroading the two main KOTOR 1 endings into one in order to not completly invalidate either/both was one of the things they did. They also made an in-game quastionare to establish whether Revan was male/female and generic good/evil which created some cutscene and conversation flavour differences later in the game.
So honestly, IMO it was better then what was happening in RPG world before that, even if it still was a form of ignoring the choices.

So they disregarded the wildly different endings in order to not disregard them? Yeah, makes perfect sense.IsaacShep wrote...

KotOR II has a lot of flaws: it's basically unfinished (and no, I don't care who is to blame for that) with a lot of plot threads that go nowhere and the mother of all "Wait, and that's it?" endings and while the writing is good, the story is basically a rip-off of Avellone's own Planescape: Torment. So yeah, best Star Wars game? No way in heaven, hell or purgatory.
