I was happy to see in the most recent trailer that elves appear to have a noticeable break between nose and forehead again, as in DA:O.  It was something I had hoped to see return.

Has it been confirmed that all Elves are Dalish? I thought it was just the Mage that was Dalish so far. (And to be honest, a City Elf Mage, while interesting, doesn't make much sense)

I really like the new design of the Elves. I thought it was really impressed how they redesigned everyone, including the environment.  So cannot wait the game already!!!

I like the new design, but I liked what they were going for in DAII, too. There's nothing all that distinguishing about DAI elves. Now, maybe what distinguished them in DAII was...overboard? I'm not sure, but I did appreciate that I could say, even if you covered the ears, 'hey, that's an elf in the DA universe'. Now, if you covered the ears (again in the pictures we have), I don't know that I could say they were even elven, let alone what franchise they belonged to.

That's lame, but if every bit of news from DA:I was positive, I'd believe it was actually vaporware like Half Life 3. Release date be damned.

I dislike any elves on any fantasy world/setting. The only "elven" character I like, is Illidan from warcraft III

Thought da2 elves looked fine. The issue was one of individual character design, rather than over race concept to me. For some reason bioware just has problems designing background npc's. EVERY. SINGLE. GAME. Mass effect, drsgon age, didn't matter. If they weren't important to the plot, (even sometimes if they were...) they would be ugly as sin.

I think it's because they seem to be half built with the in game character creator, or at least that is what it felt like.

In every fantasy book / movie / game the elves are the beautiful people but DA2 they were just plain ugly IMO . So this looks like a big improvement to me .

I've enjoyed the look of the Dragon Age elves from the start until now, I don't see that changing.

I prefer this version of elves over DA2.  That was horrendous aquatic-creature hybridization in aesthetics.  I'm all for elves looking more alien and different than humans -- I actually PREFER them being alien-looking rather than just 'pretty humans with pointy ears' -- but DA2 was not the right direction at all, imo.  But with what we have?  Yeah, it's alright.  Exaggerated sharp angular facial features, larger eyes, and larger/longer/sharper ears that stick out, it's how I've always modded my Origins elves in the toolset.

Based on the footage in this latest trailer, there doesn't seem to be much to distinguish them from humans.

No i mean your an elf, the only way your entering the winter palace is as somebodies trophy!  

 

I'm pretty sure an elven army could accommodate my Dalish Inquisitor entering the Winter Palace.
