Still no facial hair male elves...you continue to disappoint but I'm not much for playing elves anyway. They do look improved though

Dragon Age elves don't have facial or body hair according to the lore.

EDIT:  Or at least that was the impression I was under.  Now that I'm looking, though, I can't find a specific instance of that being confirmed.

Sarel from Dragon Age: Origins seemed to have some facial hair going on here.

I think that is a discrepancy given that he is the only elf (that I'm aware of) across two games with such facial hair.

And then there is Fenris's remark: "Elves don't grow beards."

I like them. Some people say they look like the generic fantasy elf, but I ask what is wrong with that? Why is that a bad thing? Should we change the human and dwarf designs so they don't look like generic humans and dwarves?

Quite a conservative approach, but at least it's a safe one.

I'd like BioWare to try to improve their DA2 design, but I guess it brought up way too much criticism.

Ears could be longer, but outside of that, no real complaints.

That's so much nicer than DA2 that I'm actually kind of shocked... great job to whoever decided on that.

Agreed to that.

I really like the new designs, and Idk, I find the M!Elf's crooked teeth endearing. He looks cheeky too.
Saying that, I like the designs for all the races we've seen so far. Hopefully BW will give us some nice presets and a hell of a lot of customisation options. And better hair. Please better hair.

These years of tweaking certainly have not gone to waste though will the elves have different eye colours than humans like violet?

im now concerned about the body types... will Elves be super skinny minnies again? Will they have the option of bulking up a bit. or being more plump?

Every elf in DA will now look like a page from Fist of the North Star.

XD Just realized I said that to someone who's called 'animedreamer'.  Wasn't sure how many people would get the reference.

Yes, what is wrong with that really? I'm not even going to go into the whole 'humans and elves can produce
offspring so they can't be too different genetically' thing since fantasy often ignores such things anyway. The first game set it up so that short, skinny human with pointy ears were what elves looked like, the second game may have changed that but that doesn't make it wrong to change it back.  Also, no one ever complains that dwarves are *just humans who look like they've been squished' or that they 'look too generic'. It's somehow only ever an issue with the elves. I can understand the appeal of something different and I wouldn't disagree to the elves looking a little more alien or foreign but I don't think the DAII design is the way to go.

My main problem with the DAII eleves was that they looked strange. Their heads seemed too large for their bodies, their necks too long and thin, they had no shoulders to speak of, their eyes were too large...

To me it looked like they'd tried to make the elves look a little more childlike while still being adult but the end effect was just creepy - not alien. The design worked better with the elves they put more time in but still wasn't all that interesting.

I'd be happier if the new elf models had more aquiline noses and slightly larger eyes, to at least pretend there's some continuity between DA2 and DA:I. I liked the concept of alien-looking elves in DA2, it was just the execution of the concept that was lacking.

(As someone already said, if all elves looked like Fenris, Merrill or Marethari, I bet there wouldn't be so much complaining about them.)

These new models are generically attractive, yes, especially the female... but there's nothing about them that says 'elvish' apart from the ears. I'm in the camp that says "elves are a different race, they should look different, not just pretty humans with pointy ears".

I love those new elves. I admire what DA2 tried doing, but their remake was nowhere near as good as the Qunari remake. Elves looked... weird. Definitely non-human, but they just looked ugly and bug eyed, with long necks. Leliana said elves are supposed to be attractive, but DA2 elves looked terrible. Some elves like Fenris looked okay, Merrill (With the right angle) also looked good. But everyone else? Hilariously ugly.

I could get past it, if only because I couldn't make an elf Hawke anyways, so it wasn't that big of a deal. If they were back in DAi, I would be sad.

I'm loving their new look! I fully intend to explore the options when the game is released.More elves the better.I hope the long hair options don't hide the ears this time though :(  that's the thing that bugged me about the DAO elves. The long hair hid the ears >_<

I don't like them.

I'm used to elves being prettier than humans.

Compared to DA2, it is a huge improvement! I know a lot of people liked the DA2 elf designs, but for me personally they didn't work with what I already saw the elves as - humanlike, pointy ears, shorter. I still can see how DA: I designs is actually quite unique, you can definitely tell there are a couple of subtle structural differences in face shape, proportions etc. I prefer this kind of subtle difference rather than some massive changes. Keep up the good work Bioware :)

They look good to me. Don't really care about elves though, since they are boring whiners who have forgotten their history.
