as i said earlier the Dwarves do look diffrent from humans, and dragons are just animals, not a characters to interact with.

So youre ok with dwarves basicly being "short humans with beards",but not with elves being "humans with pointy ears"?

the dwarves have always had unique  skelteal structure, bulbus noses, ect

Yet they still look like short and stocky humans.Afterall you said looks define a race so why not turn the dwarves into genlocs because they look like short and stocky humans? If you are going to be selective with certain races not being "unique' enough then atleast admit it.

I think everyone should take a step back and realize that everyone's gonna have their own individual opinions of what not just elves but anything should be like, so instead of getting agitated, just accept that not everyone's gonna agree with ya.

I mean, I HATED how they looked in DA2, but I'm cool with the folks who dug them. I'm not at all surprised some of those people are a bit disappointed that the elves are not sticking to their DA2 design, and I feel for them.

I'm from what I can tell this early on very happy with the direction the elven appearance is going. But being in the boat of disappointment with DA2's art style, I can sympathize for those who don't like an art style change.

Lets try to understand each other a little more. :)

dwarves are unique, they don't look l iek humans just cut  in half, i have never seen a  guy with the  porportions of balen,  or a head as thick  as Verric.,  Dwarves actualy  look like soem oen sat odwn and planed out ther e phisolgy, and didnt just  slap  a pair of ears on a guy.

Why couldn't the Qunari be the elves? That would have been different
Why not create a dragon that looks like a serpent but with 18 heads and can only live underwater?
Why can't dwarves look like Cherubs and prefer building aerial castles instead of being short and bearded and living underground?
Why can't the humans actually look like the elves instead?

It was change to make it unique, that s not just for the sake of change, and sorry they were broken in dao

Frankly, what made the DA elves original was their social situation and culture in the DA universe, while the second class citizens approach is not completely unique, since the Witcher books kind of did something like this before Dragon age,it still made them interesting to me without the need to radically change their look away from established preconceptions.
Also as I said before I still dont understand why they must look original, yet the dwarven look or dragons for that matter seem to get a free pass

Exactly, I loved how it turned the superior, immortal, high elf trope on its' head in addition to the fact that they WERE once the typical high elf but that was changed due to humans. I found their history to be really interesting as well as the cultures of both the Dalish and city elves. DA2 failed at showing us those cultures or histories. At most an elf would say "humans aren't welcome amongst the Dalish" or "humans treat us city elves bad" but it was never shown or experienced. Instead they just made the elves look freakish and called it a day, no development required.

The elves in DA2 don't even look original, they don't look like what people imagine when they hear "elf" but they aren't unique. They look like a cross between a Harry Potter house elf and an Avatar Na'vi(which I don't believe for one second wasn't the inspiration). If they actually wanted to be "unique" they wouldn't have called them elves for one since that's just one arbitrary restricion. They would have had a unique name and been completely different, rather than just annorexic humans with baby shoulders and fish eyes. Ideally you wouldn't have been able to place any human features at all, with the possible exception of number of limbs or eyes(like Turians, Krogan, and Elcor).

Why try to redifine something that most people have a set idea of in their head? "Have you heard of a wizard? In this game wizards aren't people who use magic, they are boat captains who do all the most dangeroud runs" uh ok but why call them "wizards?" In this story, dwarves aren't short, stocky, bearded humans, they look exactly like Sully from Monsters INC only short! Brilliant! Why? Why do this?If you don't like traditional fantasy with Dwarves and Elves and swords and magic, that's fine, but it's a little shallow to only look at how the races physically appear and not appreciate the great job BW did on lampshading and/or differentiating their cultures.

If they had made elves twisted and freakish in the lore and games from the beginning (though again, why call them elves?) where no one said "people favor elven servants because of their beauty" etc...and instead said they were twisted and pitiful creatures that were thrown down by humans. In this case they should look even more hideous, with not only fish eyes, giraffe necks, baby shoulders and annorexic torsos but also longer limbs, hunched backs, unique skin color (maybe with faint brown lizard-like patterns), etc...That would pique my interest a lot more than the"tried to copy Avatar but wasn't good at art" look they ended up with in DA2.

I am more than happy with the fact Elves are reverting back to a more Tolkien version of themselves

the English language, as I keep saying, also needs a distinction between what we, in my native tongue, call an elfo and a folletto.
