Yeah, I usually play biotic shepard... so Kaiden usually gets the axe on Virmire

his "I understand Commander, I don't regret a thing." really hits me, and the last fragments of comm chatter.....

That's when I unload my master spectre AR on anything that moves when going back to Ash and the nuke...

I know most people feel that death scenes are the most emotional -- so I'm going to talk about a couple that aren't death scenes:

Talitha (I Remember Me quest) -- easily the most emotional moment in the game for me. You only get this assignment if your background is Colonist. What did this for me was the voice actress for Talitha -- pretty gut-wrenching without overacting. Just genuine sadness & torment. Compare this with Corporal Toombs (in the Deat Scientists quest) -- Toombs' dialogue and voice-acting doesn't compare to Talitha's.

That's definetly my number 1 it actually really grabbed me on an emotional level.. number 2 would probably be the first time I had to choose between Kaiden and Ashley... and number 3 would be the very end.. first time I played through it I thought Shepard actually did die then I saw him jump out of the wreckage. epic stuff.

For me it would have to be either the Ashley/Kaiden death decision (having to choose who lives and dies makes me totally respect army commanders in the infantry in the heat of battle...that is a tough heart-wrenching decision) and the last scene with Shepard crawling out of the debris after defeating Sovereign and Saryn (which is just one of those "OMG OMG.....HELL YEAH!!" moments as the tension eases in the back of your throat and the music has the emotions swelling on maximum).

I was actually a bit disappointed by the Spectre Induction scene. The game builds up this immense hype about Spectres being the 'best of the best', raised to their status because they are worthy of the honour... But the dialogue leading up to it made it feel like the Council were just throwing the Alliance a bone, something to shut up Udina and Shepard and get them off their backs. It ruined what would otherwise have been a very emotional and moving scene.

I was also very moved by Kirrahe's speech to his men before the Virmire assault. I was almost expecting them to raise their arms and cheer at the end of it. Clearly, salarians aren't given to overt displays of emotion. Posted Image

The choice between Ashley and Kaidan receives the top honour, of course. There's so much emotion and meaning in each of the words said during that exchange. I haven't tried the Renegade options yet, but I always get a lump in my throat when I tell Ash/Kai to "stay alive! We're coming back for you!", only to hear them say with wry resignation, "We both know that's not going to happen, Commander."

(Seriously though, why couldn't we have just used ALL our squad members on that mission? Send two with Kirrahe, leave two to guard the nuke, and you keep the last two for yourself.)

If you choose not to save the Council, the scene on the Destiny Ascension where the Navigator/Comm asari says with a look of total shock and disbelief, "They closed the channel..." also really gets to me. The change from a tone of relief at seeing help apparently arrive, to one full of crushed hope is actually the reason why I intend to save the Council on my "canonical" playthrough. I just can't stand seeing their shock and despair when it's clear that help's not coming. Posted Image

The meeting with the Thorian and Balak's little hate-speech about how humans drove him to his actions were also very fascinating to watch.

Although I almost always kill Kaiden, solely because of him being Carth MK.II, I always feel a bit bad for him. He was a good and loyal soldier. :'(

Also, the citadel battle scene is pretty hefty. I always lol when I see the asari people onboard the ascension go wide-eyed when they realize we're not gonna save them (serves them right, the smug bastards :P) but other than that, a really epic moment, with the music in the background.

To reverse it, Benezia's death has got to be one of the more lame deaths in the history of video games. If you bring Liara along, there's a few lines that make an impact, but the fact that Liara just walks away with a entirely neutral expression on her face for Shepard to face the rachni queen alone, and the way she's gotten over it by the time you're making your decision on on the queen, it's just seems like an oversight.

And Benezia's "THERE'S NO LIGHT, I WAS TOLD THERE WOULD BE LIGHT! D':" line is just hilarious. That line always crack me up.

There were so many it's hard not to say them all but here are a few I liked.

The opening scene with Shepard on the Normandy.

The Spectre speech.

The speech Shepard gives on the Normany.

Probably the most emotional part for me (just finished this part on my twelfth, yes twelfth playthrough) is after you disband the crew after the Virmire mission and Joker softly asks if you want to be patched through to the council. For some reason that part really tugs on me.

The scene where Joker pulls a friggin' 180 in the Normandy and proceeds to blow the FU** out of Sovereign!!! And the part where the Alliance shows up and destroys the Geth fleet. And the part with the ships blowing up the other ships.

For me it was choosing between kaidan and Ashley, but also when trying my hand at renegade, seeing that Asari ship captain feel all relieved to see the Alliance arrive and then realising they're not gonna help her. Deep down i think she understood, but still.

The neutral is the best option here IMO. I was so torn apart the first time I played ME during that part that I just sit motionless with my jaw wide open for 5 min or so. I don't want to choose who is going to die anymore. It's tantalising.

Saren shooting his brains off was quite a twist as well. I even cried "That's the real hero here!" after the scene finished. Plus the music was all dramatic it made me shiver a bit.

And the Spectre intro. Solely because of the score - very inspiring!

I think it is for me all the races come together to fire on Sovereign and you watch as the Normandy a ship of your most trusted people and not even a heavy ship rip threw it like butter.

I didn't find any 'sad' scenes particularly moving, which I consider a weakness of the game, but the scene where Shepard emerges with the wreckage does kinda give me an awesome feeling.

Weirdly the most 'moving' sad scene (though not tear-inducing), I felt, was finding Kahoku dead, even though it was just a text box.

So true. That hit me so hard. My first playthrough, even though I was Paragon, I sacrificed the Council because I honestly believed I might not beat Sovereign otherwise. I never did it again. I felt so incredibly guilty for just letting them die while I had a whole fleet there.

Also, Benezia's last line made me feel really sad for her.

And of course very other scene already mentioned. What can I say? Great game.

Seconded. It's just a gut punch to watch the crew's rising hopes, only to see them dashed moments later. Definitely the most emotional scene in the game for me.

Before the mission on Virmire. "Even when we're another another's command, we're still a team!" (or summink like that...) I knew that one of them was going to die as soon as Shep said that... didn't realise I'd actually have the option to choose at the time though.

hmmm, yeah, maybe not the most emotional scene, but definately one that I liked and am always looking foward to witha  new plathrough is the beginning (love the music and all)

then there's becoming a Spectre, because it's fairly early in the game (and again the music *gg*)

the one that made me :crying: ... well, I must have had something in the eye <_<... is the ending,
on my first playthough I had Wrex with me and he's the one who looks at this huge wreckage when Anderson asks where the commander is... Krogan are hard to read, but he seemed sad and that's just making the whole scene worse...
then Shepard emerges from the wreckage and everyone is relieved
I just wanted to tell Wrex it's okey and we'll find him something to kill so he feels better again ;)

Most of the conversations with Wrex. Especially on Virmire. I feel sorry for them, their entire species got screwed over.

The one that Hit Close to home for me Was "long ago far off things" i think is the name. Its when you choose spacer background and are hit up to help the Vet. that served with your mom during the blitz, thats between the wards and the presidium.

Almost lost an uncle in vietnam, he was a pow for 3.5 yrs he went thru hell. that one is hard to take with "its just a game" attitude.

Virmire! Start to finish! In my opinion it was the most complete section of the entire game. From the super intense confrontation with Wrex to Kirrahe's moving speech to the comm chatter through the entire assault on Saren's base to the heart-wrenching decision between your two Alliance squadmates and the dialogue there. The entire thing just brought so many ups and/or downs as far as swell in emotions for me (ups or downs depending on paragon or renegade playthroughs). I swear on my first playthrough when I got to the Wrex confrontation on Virmire my heart was stuck in my throat and I held my breath because in my canon playthrough Wrex actually becomes Shephards best friend.
