Most Emotional scene in Mass Effect

- Saving (or not) the Council
- Virmire (speech and gut-wrenching choice)
- Spectre induction
Playing as a Paragon, these moments weren't too emotional, but as a Renegade... the tone was totally different:
- Feros, when your Shepard decides to just execute the asari that was saved. That was a horrid feeling since I would never have chosen to do that, except I was going through with mainly Renegade choices. Renegade Shepard is hardcore and ice cold. Don't think I'd ever want to run into that guy.
- Bring Down the Sky, after you choose to take down the Batarian instead of freeing the hostages. The option to reply to his questions and statements with ONLY bullets instead of words. Renegade Shepard is to Batarians what that Batarian was to the Alliance.

- Shepard's speech once he gets the Normandy.
- Everything on Virmire, from the Wrex confrontation to the Salarians, punching Saren in the face, etc.
- Saving or not the council. Not saving them has the "hope dashed" moment from the Asari crew that is just chilling; saving them is a damn epic heroic moment.
I agree that "I Remember Me" was also pretty good. Noveria also had two great moments that left an impact. One was the Rachni queen, which I hesitated as a player until I made my Shepard chose, and the second was when the nice, helpful security guard turns on you.

I'll throw in there with the Vermire mission. By far my favorite story mission (excluding the ending) with some real WOW moments.
What really does it for me though, and still gives me shivers right up my spine each time I play it through, is when you decide to save the council. Hearing the alliance say to save the council at all costs and hearing the asari navigator say "thank the goddess!" is so freakin' awesome it's ridiculous.
To a lesser extent, when you sacrifice the council. That was pretty good too.

Also, choosing between Ashley and Kaiden, and the 'they've closed the channel...' line when refusing to save the council. Seems to be the standard examples, really.

But i think the scene that really got me involved was the Joker delivering the final blow to Sovereign, i just was like "Hell yeah! Right through the heart, Joker you badass! *dance*" an then the part of Sov wraps into the tower and i got: "Oh... ****." Then watched the finale scene and had a wide grin, when Shep appeared within the depris.

Found it very powerful and intriguing having a machine that's over 50,000 years old deride you and your flesh and bones.

- When the whole fleet attacks sovereign. All the ****ing and arguing and politics goes away and everyone fights together against a common enemy.
- Wrex talking about how his race is dying off. The resigned way he talks about it really gets his character across.

'I Remember Me' - I don't know how that plays out for a renegade character, and I don't want to know.

Thats the only renegade decision i never made and never will :innocent:
Another moment for me was saving the Destiny Ascension, Jokers most epic line.

I think the most emotionally powerful moment comes in the final battle if you use your charm or intimidate skills to persuade Saren to rebel against Sovreign's indoctrination.
He has this terrible realization that he has allowed himself to betray his own ideals, he thanks you for helping him to see what he has become and then he blows his brains out. For me it was that scene more than anything else that made Saren a truly great character. You go through most of the game seeking vengance against him and then in the end you have this option to turn away from vengance and give him one last chance to be just and in that moment he ends his own life with one final act of nobility. If you pick that ending you're denied the simple revenge the end of most games reward you with and left to contemplate how you should really feel about Saren. You spend dozens of hours hating his guts; but in his final moments all you feel for him is pity
Its very powerful stuff. Wrex was my favorite character in Mass Effect; but Saren was definitely the most intriguing. He's an exceptional villian and I think he's the best written character thats ever appeared in a game.

It was so beautifull. The landscape was lovely, the sun was warm and made the place like heaven, the sea slowly coming in and gunfire in the background...so tranquil.
And to top it off i pulled the trigger of my shotgun, i quenched my breathe and i closed my eyes. All peacefull with the wind cooly blowing through my hair like a piece of silk slowly stroking my cheek. And then a nice loud boom with a sound like a watermelon being crushed by a sledgehammer. A smile grew upon my battle hardened face. I pulled the trigger yet again and another noice appeared. It had a cracking and snapping sound with nice deep gurgling noice from the blood slowly seeping down Wrex's scarred weather beaten face. And then. A warm wet patch started growing where my tool is.
That was the most emotional part ever. I felt like i was in a painting. A masterpiece of art with me standing triumphant over a dead beast overshadowed by the beauty of Eden (Describing Eden Prime as the garden of Eden, Eden Prime was known as a very lovely and peacefull world. see what i did?)

Also the full renegade ending really brought the epic proportions of the game home. I had chills all throughout the end credits.

Completely agree with this. I remember thinking that it was a bad time to be a Renegade and it didn't feel right when I had more points in intimidate than charm. Came back when I had higher charm points so there were more blue dialogue choices available to use. I totally went out of my way to be nice to this girl.hero3440 wrote...

Talitha (I Remember Me quest) -- easily the most emotional moment in the game for me. You only get this assignment if your background is Colonist. What did this for me was the voice actress for Talitha -- pretty gut-wrenching without overacting. Just genuine sadness & torment. Compare this with Corporal Toombs (in the Deat Scientists quest) -- Toombs' dialogue and voice-acting doesn't compare to Talitha's.
I agree with this one. I felt bad for her, and it kind of touched me.

But emotionally... I still can't kill Wrex without feeling like a douche. The one time I did it just to see what would happen, I hovered over the dialog option for about 30 seconds before mustering up the will to click it. I of course reloaded once it was done so I could continue on with him.
