All of these scenes are amazing and are what make this game so emotional that it pulls you in.

I can't wait to see what Mass Effect 2 has done to improve them more.

his "I understand Commander, I don't regret a thing." really hits me, and the last fragments of comm chatter.....

I didnt expected something like that to happen, so i tried both options. First i saved Ash, but i reloaded and saved Alenko, since he was a great character(but the first time it was really hard and sad, that i have to sacrafice someone...)
:(

For me it was the speech the Salarian commander gave on Virmire. "Hold the Line!"

The choice between Kaiden and Ashley. That one was tough for me.

I'm rather surprised that I'm the only one who's favorite and most emotional was Vigil's story of the Prothean genocide. Absolutely gut-wrenching and the nearest to a tear-breaker I had in the game, hands down. Whether or not you agree with what it/he did to preserve his energy and give you a fighting chance, the story of the inhabitants of Ilos and the prothean scientists who sacrificed themselves to reprogram the Citadel truly made me hate Saren and Sovereign. It was only at that moment when the main quest became a truly personal affair for me.

After that, Sovereign's reveal and Virmire escape and the battle for the Citadel - particularly the elevator scene where you go into space and see Sovereign in his full might and size. I swear, for a few moments I just staring, thinking "okey... now this is unfair".

Although these are my favorites, ME in general had many strong moments and I could easily name a few more.

The arrival of the Alliance at the very end is a truly rousing moment. The council not giving Humans a seat would be a real kick in the face after that.

Easily the "Hold the Line" speech and the moment where Shepard crawls out of the rubble. Both are just flat awesome.

I know most people feel that death scenes are the most emotional -- so I'm going to talk about a couple that aren't death scenes:

Talitha (I Remember Me quest) -- easily the most emotional moment in the game for me. You only get this assignment if your background is Colonist. What did this for me was the voice actress for Talitha -- pretty gut-wrenching without overacting. Just genuine sadness & torment. Compare this with Corporal Toombs (in the Deat Scientists quest) -- Toombs' dialogue and voice-acting doesn't compare to Talitha's.

Heated-exchange on Normany between your crew before landing on Ilos -- I loved the intensity and desperation in the voices of your squad and Navigator Pressly. They're all arguing about where to drop the Mako on Ilos, and how they can/can't do it close to Saren. FINALLY some frustration, desperation and intensity -- we're trying to save the trillions of lives in the universe, let's act like it. It's not a vacation!

Those two stand out for me (aside from the deaths).

"You'll dream of a warm place.  And when you wake up, you'll be in it." :)

I loved the "I Remember Me" quest (yes, of course I sedated her peacefully).  I also loved Benezia's final moments on Noveria (I guess it helped that Liara was my favorite party member, and I used her everywhere).

A couple really stand out for me.

I remember me. It's a fantastic quest with great dialogue and voice acting. I just wanted to give her a hug.

When Joker blows a hole through Sovereign. I wanted to get out of my seat and cheer. :)

I don't know if this is been said but one of the best scenes was when you first see the Citadel, seeing it on the Normandy and the music, the whole thing gave me goose bumps , and i thought the first time i saw it was, That thing is EPIC!

I've been having a tough time playing Renegade 100%. I remember choosing the more renegade option at the end of "I remember me," telling the officer "She took the meds. What a waste of my time." I actually felt so bad about it that I reloaded.

Another part that tugged on my conscience was choosing to kill the Rachni queen, after all the promises of redemption.

And in my first playthough I hadn't explored Wrex's story well enough and hadn't got enough points into persuasion, seeing Ash take him out was very unexpected and left me feeling strange afterwards. Very odd feeling to get from a videogame.

The whole game really gave me goosebumps but at the end when you really think you died but you come out of that rubble unscathed, now that was amazing.

Talking with Elanos Haliat with the War Hero background.

I wanted to choke the com link. Sure, I saved Elysium. I held the line. But you try being awake for 24 hrs under heavy fire next to a box full of Medi-Gel and grenades. You begin to forget which is which....

1)I would have to say the speech you give to crew on normandy after becoming spectre & your about to embark on your journey. 2) Also when you had to choose between saving Ashley & Kaiden; I still remember my 1st playthrough, battling w/ the decision of who to save.

The briefing room after Virmire.

Oh! And my Renegade FemShep putting one bullet after another into Balak at the end of Bring Down The Sky, then leaving him to bleed out.

I agree with Burdovka, the most emotional scene, in my opinion, is Vigil's tale about Protheans and their extermination by the Reapers.

Imagine how sad is to think that your civilization, your culture, your technology, your values, your family, in other words, everything in what you believe, is wiped out...this thing is simply terrible guys. Just imagine if such thing would happen to us humans.

I hope some Prothean is still alive in Mass Effect universe...who knows, maybe our hero Shepard will find a planet with living Protheans in the Terminus System! Never say never... =]

Kirrahe's speech on Virmire made me tear up a little. I felt inspired, but I'm a sap.

Also, I was honestly shocked when Saren shot himself. I was playing a pure Paragon and I thought I could save him. I think I may have muttered: "Oh my God."

Annnd the whole Sovereign wreckage thing at the Citadel. Kaidan and Wrex looked so upset about Shepard. I just wanted to hug them both. But then Shepard was alive and I cheered unexpectantly.

Sheperd's first speech, I had never played a video game that gave me goosebumps from a speech that you (sort of) made up.

This is the most emotional thread on this forum! I agree with everyone!

My faves:
1. Kirahe's "we held the line" speech.
2. Becoming a Spectre.
3. Going to the Citadel for the first time. Fan-TAS-tic music. I play that piece in my cabin in ME2.
4. Shepard's speech on the Normandy P.A.
5. Telling Samesh Bhatia he can't have his wife's body.
6. Telling Garrus we're arresting Dr. Saleon.
7. Executing the asari on Feros.
8. Shepard climbing out of the wreckage.
9. The confrontation with Wrex on Virmire.
10. Vigil.

the last scene where i thought shepard died was the most emotional, i was pissed off that shep would die from debris after kicking so much ass, then he appeared and all i was thinking was hell yeah, no debris is gonna take shep down.
