Dynasty warriors stuff some Lu Bu or Ma Chao armours would be cool.

Armor like this would help me get my "Zealot on" for my Templar playthrough.

And something like this for my eventual Elven playthrough.

Posted Image

And the mage one. Maybe without the helmet, just to "lighten" the armour so it would make more sense that the mage is actually about as resistant as butter.

Damn, that first one looks like one very fierce elf. I am also gonna guess he found some Arlathan style armamaments as well. And that mage looks downright sinister. A maleficarum, methinks. ;)

@Emperor Sahlertz: Stop torturing me....

I've wanted Warhammer Fantasy and 40K CRPGs for forever.

Note:  Also, it's insulting to equate THESE elves to THOSE elves.

The Dalish as they are kinda suck. But it sounds like those Arlathan guys had their sh*t together.

Still do not compare to the High Elves of Ulthuan.

I am an unashamed Warhammer junkie.

Seeing how I have no flipping clue what those are, my money's on the Arlathan bunch.

Any armour (and weapons too tbh, spears, halberds etc have gotten 0 love in DA) that these guys are using.

The art of Louis Rhead, or other artists of the late 1890s/early 1900s, is a good starting point for armor and clothing.

All I have to say is that armor in games is meant to look "awesome" while not necessarily being "practical".

I don't see why it would cause any immersion issues mainly from the fact that hit points exist.

Personally, I find the Champion armor to look amazing on Warriors and Mages, and they serve as good examples of what I like my armor to look like.

The Warden Commander armor set from Warden's Keep also is a good example of armor I like.

As for shields, I love Kite shields, similar to the Amell Family Crest. I modded any shield I got to look like it.

Warrior Champion Armor + Amell Family Crest = favorite armor set in a video game ever.

You might have gotten the point across better with fewer pictures; who could possibly pay attention to all that? Besides, a lot of them didn't have armor in them.

How dare you! Tree-hugging bastards as they might be, the High Elves of Ulthuan have no equal in pure elvishness. Not even Tolkien's Elves are as Elfish as these bastards. The worst thing is that the High Elves actually manage to be so damn Elfish and still be badass.
(They held back the equivalent of the unmitigated forces of hell for centuries, with no end or pause to the fighting)

Fair enough. Posted Image

The unarmored ones were intentional though, as I posted that the art would be a good starting point for armor and clothing. Not everyone in the DA universe would be wearing armor, and some of the ladies in the artwork could be used as a basis for Orlesian noblewomen.

(Given the rose symbolism, I'm tempted to see this as Leliana if she did some Loghain style class switching)

Is that Rose from the "Fables" comics ? It does look like her and her armor.If it is her (and even if not ), that's one beautiful Knight Of Hope. :wub:

@eluvianix
This is how I found the second concept : google, mage armor, images, a very long scroll :P

Practical doesn't rule out awesome looking. In fact, I think practical armor looks way better because of the sleek, shapely design, vs. the usual horribly busy fantasy armor with all kind of strange knobs, pins, thorns, chains and other crap hanging off.

This.
