What were your favourite moments in the Mass Effect games?

For me when Eve stepped out on the Krogan homeworld and made all the Krogan shut up and listen, her speech was one of the best bits of game dialog in ME3.....

I was playing a 2nd playthrough with a female Shepard and when Eve asked who will stand and fight with her I chose to say "and me"  I think that was the line of dialog. But what made the moment for me was the  music and the animatios after Shepard has said that.  I found it moving.....

Also curing the genophage made my day, just the atmospheric music which was the same music as the first Mass Effect game as the cure spread through the atmosphere.

Seeing the Crucible dock with the Citadel......... That was pretty damn cool.

From Mass Effect 2

The big reveal as the new Normandy is revealed........ Again its the  anination of the scene and the music. It really got me hyped and  interested......

Haven't really got any favourites from the first game.

That's all I can think of for now.

Eve's speech was a good one. I also liked when she revealed her name to Shepard, since it had been previously set up as kind of a big deal. Really the whole finale of Tuchanka was a great moment, from Mordin's sacrifice to the reaction of the Krogan.

A few others...

The opening of ME1, with Shepard making his way through the Normandy as it flies past Jupiter.

The Virmire decision and the confrontation there with Saren.

The sections of Bring Down the Sky while you are operating on the surface of the asteroid. Dat atmosphere...

Shepard emerging from the rubble at the end of Mass Effect 1.

The opening of Mass Effect 2 and the destruction of the Normandy SR2.

The Suicide Mission and the finale of ME2.

The finale of the Overlord DLC

The car chase in LotSB, the fight on top of the Shadow Broker ship, and the finale confrontation with the Shadow Broker

The opening of Mass Effect 3. I know a lot of people didn't like it, but I enjoyed it.

The entire Leviathan DLC, especially the finale.

The entire Citadel DLC.

Liara's 'Name in the Stars' scene

Peace on Rannoch

The goodbyes with your squadmates in the end game

The opening sequence of the first game. In my entire video game life, I have never been hooked to a game as quickly.

Virmire decision (the first time around)
Just talking to aliens on the Citadel at first.. Like Barla Von
Shooting Finch at Chora's Den. Acting like Dirty Harry in a Space Bar = Win
Getting Jack out of Cryo
Aria's closeup smile..
Legion and the dramatic "Ahhhhhhh!" music. "Shepard Commander."

The collector base approach is on the top of my list, even if there's a lot more moments just below it.

- After Ashley and Shep had a falling out on Horizon, Miranda and Shep started to get close, and that soft touch she gives him was something that stuck with me after completing her LM.
http://youtu.be/FPgwPJUwCm8?t=1m16s

- Tali's Romance goodbye towards the beam TT__TT
http://youtu.be/sfOYM_I_hR0?t=53s

- Joker's face after EDI say's she wants to see Joker crawl... Priceless!

- Doing the suicide run and having no casualties, with this epic music playing in the background.

- Vega's reaction to EDI shutting down if you take her with you during the Citadel mission.
http://youtu.be/Dj3xXMcjiSs?t=19s

- Javik's comment on Glyph during the Citadel DLC... I laughed so hard.
http://youtu.be/gfjB3Cpmkjk?t=55s

There's quite a bit more, but these were the ones that stuck out off the top of my head.

Grunt's "last stand"

Yeah, that's good too. Sadly, I almost want it to end there and actually be a last stand. I'm not sure death is worse than the alternative ( little to no screen presence afterwards). Loyalty should've determined new squadmate status (or better, squadmate status would be about choosing between him or the Queen).

Sorry. A bit off topic.

Both are from the first Mass Effect. Talking to Vigil. The other was Saren killing himself because my Shepard was able to make a convincing argument on my second playthrough when I thought the fight would always be a fixed event. That is where it peaked for me out of the entire trilogy.

The Normandy reveal in ME2, the music in that scene is my favorite track from the whole trilogy.

Blasting through the conduit in a Mako to jump out of the statue on its Citadel side. And to continue in a Citadel under attack. Because it turned things upside down: Before, you had the Citadel be a place where you could largely feel safe since it's a hub world and the missions where you had to expect being attacked at any minute. Now suddenly the rules changed. Even the elevator had to be used in a different way from the normal one. And having the harmless statue I had walked by so many times have such a secret AND allowing for such an impressive entry was cool.

When the Normandy was attacked by the collectors and I got to take over Joker. That had me at the edge of my seat for several reasons - "Nooo, this guy is so slow! Runrunrun!", "So that's what it's like for him all the time" (a change of perspective for sure when compared to uber-powerful Shepard), seeing character development take place with him having to trust EDI and her proving that she can be trusted (and having him accept her 150 % afterwards), EDI's line about loving to see humans on their knees to be followed by "That was a joke."

The suicide mission felt quite intense. I loved especially the bit after Samara had suggested using a biotic bubble to pass through the seeker swarms. The music was so beautiful at that part, and it was a perfect illustration of the squad working together, within that bubble upheld by someone they had to trust their lives with, slowly making their way through enemy territory.

So in sum, I'd say the parts where the rules were changed in a creative, unexpected yet logical-within-the-story way and where characters bonded and worked together despite their tensions, leading to good outcomes.

When Thane fights Kai Leng in ME3, was unexpected and totally awesome when I first seen it.

At the end of ME1 when you step out of the turbolift on the outside of the Citadel and you have the closed arms stretching away above you. That entire segment was seriously epic.

Is that before the final showdown with Saren?

Started with ME2
i was not sure what to expect, when i entered Omega, then entering the afterlife, this is when i was totaly absorbed by the ME univers.

Later in ME2, Tali Trial, Illium, the suicide mission (many other things but i keep it short for my first ME experience).

In ME1, the citadel, the specter ceremoni, the noveria facility, the whole Feros part, the whole Vermire (sauvereign chat !!!) the whole Ilos (ambiance, sounds, vibs, vigil chat !), back at the citadel with sauvereign geant tentaculs (one of the best top 3 "last level" i experienced in 30 years of gaming experience). Then, the joy to import my FemShep in ME2 to notice all the changes (i did that more than 17 times)

ME3, many things too, but i think the genophage arc was better than anything else (imo).

I did not include DLC.

Then, at the end of ME3 (vanilla) i woke up at the top of a mountain of trash with the saliva spited at my face by Bioware, and i had no idea what i did to them to deserve that. I didn't get angry but very surprised; i knew there was a big desagreement between us.

My favourites in no particular order (all me3 as I haven't played the others in a while) :

-Legion asking does this unit have a soul?
-Kaidan if you take him to TIMs base and you watch your reconstruction "You're real enough for me."
-Vega when you land on London at the goodbye scene (as femshep) "What no Lola?"
-The slides scene at the end of the destroy ending and as the reapers are destroyed.
-Your LI or friend with the plaque in the Normandy
-Citadel dlc
