[Random fun] What is your (personal) greatest fear when it comes to DA:I?

First! Let us keep this drama free and remember that anyone posting here is just slapping down her or his personal thoughts on the matter. So you will not be agreeing with everyone but that's no reason to start a flame war *shakes fist*
These 'fears' can be wild/silly and range from anything that might happen in game  (mechanics, story, lore) to what is happening outside ( development decisions, strange statements by devs/community etc ).

1. The quote from Frank Gibeau:
"But, if you look at a game like Dragon Age Inquisition, it's a sequel yeah but we're treating it as a new IP with a new approach. We're reinventing it."
-  You know if the EA executive says this we might be in trouble. Will they ''reinvent it'' how they did mass effect 3..?

2. Conversations starting not to be so awesome and AUTODIALOGUE!
Please do not remind me that ME =/= DA.  I am still afraid that they will dumb down the lovely conversation wheel just like they did in Mass effect series. A lot less options, lot less decision making. Though perhaps it will not be so bad as I am sure ME had to do many of these sacrifices because of limited development time not to mention having to take into account decisions from so many players.

A mini section for this. Please for the love of that is all good and holy. Do not, DO NOT have there be so much autodialogue as there was in ( i know i am bringing this game up a lot ) mass effect 3.

3. Game length being lousy!
I have always felt that a RPG should be 35-40 hours at least and whenever a dev swoops in to state it's about quality and not quantity I twitch :( I think both of these should go hand in hand! I loved +100 hours in DA:O but I know this will not happen again but I like to think 35-40 is not too much to hope for.

4. EA's love for DLC.
DLC is much, much more popular these days and mostly I do not mind this at all. I loved Lair of the Shadowbroker and a few other content DLC's that have been offered up to some games. However I think most have noticed that just sometimes it really feels like some of these DLC's should have been with the game from the beginning and without it the game is -seriously- lacking something ( Ashes DLC - ME3).

5. Too many gray characters/companions.
At times gray characters can be -really- great! To talk to them and see their world view that is not just black and white.
However I do personally actually want a companion that does see the world inblack and white!
Someone who is extremely pro-mage-freedom or templar-kill/lockthemup.
Heck and I especially hope that we will get a lovely 'evil' companion who hangs about for some reason!
PS: I know such characters might be there already! Remember this is just random/wild speculation on your personal fears/thoughts.

My one concern is that they'll radically change the combat to make it a real-time action game.

You won't be able to change your party member's armor.

We haven't seen the system yet. You can have them equip armour, but they will have unique appearances.

That the story will have some sort of twist that can ruin the enjoyment of the game.

I like real time with pause when fighting mooks.  You said you paused all the time?

One of the things I don't like is probably in the game and that is rolling. This along with jumping. twirling and dodging I hope isn't in the game.   And Blocking don't forget Blocking don't want.

Not all the time, because once I get use to the UI I'm fast enough that I don't need the pause to react before the enemy, but very often.

But I meant more switching the combat to Dark Souls/Dragons Dogma type of change.

That combat will be as tedious as it was in the first game. I don't think this will be the case but it is a fear of mine, nonethless.

I will suffer through anything EXCEPT

the continued absence of dwarf and Qunari women

My greatest fear is that they will be under-represented or just nonexistent (as in DA2).

The return of Mass Effect 3's dialogue options, or rather the lack thereof.

Dwarf women have to be in the game. The CCC exists to make them now. There's no way they're not in.

The return to DA:2 combat. Hated all the jumping around. Puts me to sleep every time. Nothing to watch for. I prefer playing rouge and in DA:2 ended up the majority of my Hawkes were mages and two fighters. MP affecting the SP game. Those are the top two.

I know that, but I don't care about playing one.
With the assets in the engine, I hope they are well-represented in the NPC population.

And we still have nothing for Qunari women.

I'm afraid that we won't be able to improve the elves' situation any.

DA:O ended with a big reset button after the epilogue, showing how all progress made in the Alienage eventually gets undermined and the land granted to the Dalish ends in disaster. DA2 flat out ignored the Alienage elves' plight, and never let us help accomplish Merrill's goal of helping the Dalish. (Hell, at best, we were only allowed to *slaughter* the Dalish.)

I want things to be able to change this time around. I'm not saying I want a magic solution that instantly fixes literally millennia of inequality in just a few months. I just want to be able to get the ball rolling, just as DA2 ended with getting the ball rolling for mages.

Mainly that the import system won't work very well. Especially with things like the bugs from Awakening and Witch Hunt (which originally didn't autosave at the end) carrying over without there being a simple way for players to correct these bugs. Added to that is importing from X360 to PS4, which I hope will be possible.

Crappy romances like DA2.
I didn't care one bit for Fenris or Anders.
In DAO I had difficulty choosing between Zev and Ali. Morrigan made for an amazing romance too.

I like Cullen well enough, but I'd be disappointed if it was just him and Varric.

On that note, my big worry is that the only way DAI will let us improve the plight of elves is by having their culture swallowed up by the Dalish, trading one cultural diaspora for another.

The gameplay will be a lower quality clone of witcher 2's gameplay for the console gaming platform.

Unlikable companions. We haven't seen enough to make any concrete determinations so far, but the blurbs in the survey weren't encouraging.

I'm worried that:

9 companions is just too many and they'll be shallower and have less content because of it.

That the exploration will be just big areas filled with meaningless combat and that the story will suffer because "you can go anywhere at anytime".

That Cullen won't be a companion :)
