- Companions who I cannot stand, being made mandatory and cannot get away from them in any way. That is my personal hell.

- Being inactive during an incident, such as someone being murdered and we stand there like scared bystanders who only end up acting after the person is killed.

- DAI ending up like ME3 in the sense of me not enjoying it.

My greatest fears are:
- anything that would work toward killing immersion and player agency (ex: AUTODIALOGUE)
- a f'd up, disastrous, miserable ending that does not satisfy the player one bit (ME3)
- forced multiplayer and online to get a ''better'' DAI experience (see the whole galactic readiness fiasco in ME3)

No mention of what Varric has gone through in the comics. (Just finished Until We Sleep)

Seeing as how he's wearing the costume from the comics, I'm pretty sure there'll be some mention. It'll probably come in the form of offhanded "I knew a guy once" sort of remarks, as the comics don't fit every game's playthrough but they'll be there.

Since there's more than enough people who seem to fear ambiguous endings, this opinion piece can tell you why you shouldn't.

I.e., she doesn't specifically say whether she liked the ending ME3, but she does say that if it was bad, being ambiguous was not what made it so.

-Conversation system being even more simplified... Seriously I'd like more than two responses, (The 'good' response and the 'evil' or renegade response) Gimme back some of the grey or joking responses I had in DA:O

-I need my romance options! If romance gets nixed for some reason I will be angry and stuff >.>

-Combat will require me to only mash one button repeatedly..... DA:2 I'm looking at you <.<

-The ending will upset me to the point that I can not bring myself to play the game a second time through until a content pack is released and helps heal my wounds x.x

-I will be forced to play multiplayer to advance in the single player game...

You know, as bitter and sarcastic as I've been since DA2 + ME3, I've got to say I'm feeling really good about DA:I with all the information we've gotten so far. They're going away from copy/pasted tiny maps, race choices are back, EA is giving them an extra year of development time, it seems they're really listening to what fans want. Also the interviews thus far have not contained any super exaggerated statements or buzz words (press a button, something AWESOME happens!) and I feel like they're no longer trying to trick every unrelated market under the sun into buying a game they wouldn't have otherwise. (metal music and exploding blood trying to bring in CoD players, huge-eyed super skinny elves and every race with perfect complexion and bright, unnatural eye colors for the anime fans, no puzzles and everything being super streamlined, barebones, and easy for casual/cell phone players, etc...)

If I'm wrong and it ends up being the same as DA2 and ME3 there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth as well as rending of garments in this corner.

- Forced multiplayer like ME3.
- Day 1 DLC
- Autodialogue
- Too short. Average RPG is 60+ hours

Revan 2.0 for the Warden and Hawke.
Other than that the game seems to be set on a nice course where it might actually surpass DA:O if they keep up what they seem to be doing.

Okay, add that one to my list of fears too.

I don't know if you've looked at the most popular casual/cell phone games, but I'm pretty sure puzzles wouldn't be a problem for that crowd. It's everything else but the puzzles that would be the problem.

The reviving of the Torn Trousers. I really could go a whole lifetime without ever looting something so dumb. I just hope the loot is significantly better. Stale Biscuits and Moth-Eaten Scarves should lie forgotten somewhere.

- Multiplayer
- Abysmal ending that negates all that came before (ok, I'm not really worried of this happening in DAI, I trust the DA team to know better)
- Choices with little to no consequences in game
- Abundancy of Fetch Quests instead of proper Side Quests

Anyway, I'm really positive about DAI right now and my positivity could actually improve if they confirm that DAI won't have any kind of MP :P

-Forced muliplayer. For <InsertDeityHere>'s sake, I do not buy RPG's to play with other people! Put MP in if you like, but don't MAKE me play it.

-The ME3 Ending fiasco. I trust DA to know better.

-A return to the old Mage Combat system, eg, standing there going 'pew pew pew' whilst an enemy performs amateur surgery on me.

-Crappy, useless loot that clogs up my inventory.

-Oh, is that your LI? You really like that LI? Watch us screw up that romance for you!

-''If You Actually Want To Play The Game And Enjoy It You Have To Buy This'' DLC.

I think that's about it for me.

Edit!

Wait, I forgot something, and this is just a personal one for me, I'm not sure if anyone else is really concerned, but PLEASE DON'T TAKE AWAY MY DIALOUGE WHEEL ICONS!!!!

I have a lot of trouble know what my character is ACTUALLY saying sometimes - so having that little icon telling me, yes, that is flirting, no that is being mean, that is a joke really really REALLY helps me.

That my decisions are as meaningless as they were in DA2. It just didn't feel like it mattered one way or the other, no matter what you do, the mages sitill go crazy and attack Hawke - even ones you helped in the past - even the first enchanter - even after siding with him over Meredith. Sloppy, very sloppy.

I especially don't want my character to get over shadowed again like Hawke is when Anders blows up the Chantry. Hawke just turns into the ****** who didn't stop him.

Also, I fear the Wardens dissapearence won't have enough of an impact - especially given what save files could be used. Such as a Queen Cousland.... don't you think that her disapearing would be a pretty big deal? Especially to King Alistair? It makes sense for a male who romanced Morrigan to dissapear into Mirrorland, every single other playthrough... yeah... not so much.

It does look like BioWare have been listening to the criticism DA II and Mass Effect 3 got, I'm just waiting for them to confirm that there won't be any multiplayer. I don't want to have to boost an 'Inquisition readiness' meter for something that I should be able to get via single-player.

It being rushed. And though it's getting a fall 2014 release, it still makes me worried that they're releasing in into so many platforms.

Conversely, they could actually just show the player what would be said. That way, you aren't guessing based on some vague paraphrases...?

I don`t have fears. But I suspect I will have to drop Cassandra from the party. The anime is canon, after all, and she kills dragons single handed in that one. So that means every fight vs dragons should be won easily with her killing it with a dagger. otherwise it won`t make sense. Going to use party members that can`t do that, to get a challenge.

That they will not find the balance between icons in the dialogue wheel.

Allow me to try to explain this. From what I know many people in ME3 who where paragon just kept taking the great big paragon answer ( blue text ) because... they thought that's "right" even if they disagreed what Shephard then said and did.

In DA:O there was no such thing and if I recall correctly ( i might really be wrong on this ) a great many players for example picked the option to have people sleep with morrigan just so they could save their warden and Alistar.
If that option would have had big red text and "EVIL , RENEGADE, EVILL" then a lot less might have taken it just because of that.

that they haven't figured out a better animation walk when your character is going into combat, I swear the lot of them looked like they were suffering from simultaneous hemorrhoid attacks all at once.

that the only romances will be your choice of broody, mad/broody or depressed/broody... however they will all be devastatingly gorgeous so you have to figure out how to romance them without talking to them or you will kill them.

my actions not being recognized.

I agree with Tashash on the mage combat...

As far as I know the ME3 MP isn't necessary to get the best ending - it just makes it easier to get it.
So I doubt they would do something that forces you in this game as well.

It seems the very few fires (if any) I had feared about have been put out already. The only thing I see myself not enjoying is maybe the combat, I watched that vid with the pre-alpha gameplay and the combat looked very akin to The Witcher 2 and I hate that... or rather I love Dragon Age's existing combat... especially DA2's because my rogue can only *miss* so many times before I rage like a cow without an udder and 4 left legs... Other than that I'm one of those crazy people who loved the hell out of Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II even more... (Except those damn recycled areas, but that's also been said to have changed and it seems they delivered...)

The tedious combat of DA2, autodilogue and that the SP game will be linked to some kind of horrible EMS multiplayer. I have to admit that so far the game looks good, but I remain skeptical nonetheless.

That the male characters well be absolutely insufferable (imo) and the fandom will flock to them because they're cute/hot/super-interesting/male while leaving awesome (hopefully) well-developed female characters in the dust. And then I have to suffer through the dudespam on my most frequented websites when I have zero interest in men as objects of desire (and since I found them insufferable characters I don't give a damn about their personality and any meta discussions surrounding them either).

I also have a few worries about combat, but none that I'd really like to elaborate on.
