It won't feel like Dragon Age anymore and instead a giant medley of Witcher/DD/KoA/Skyrim or whatever.

There is something about the way that the DAO, DAA and DA2 control and play that makes them feel really unique compared to other games of similar genre.

That they kill Morrigan and/or OGB (That's my son you sons of b*****!)
That they make me feel strongly attached to my horse and then kill it. (Or if we ride a dragon, the dragon).

Honestly tho, I know im going to get my heart broken one way or another, so doesn't matter that much. What I truly fear is that it ends up like ME3, I mean, it has been over a year and I'm still no over it, I can't think too much of the game without getting both angry and sad, Im like "yeah, EDI was cool, NOW STOP THINKING".

Biggest fear is that the story will be riddled with cliches and plot holes.

For goodness sake, please Bioware... Keep an eye out for nonsensical moments in the game.

That no matter what, there is going to be a giant wave of people on the BSN pissing and moaning and demanding heads to roll and starting ridiculous movements.

My greatest fear about DAI is that again the powers that be will design the female protagonist as an afterthought to the assumed male protagonist that they are designing it for. (I know this has been beat to death so there is no need to flame/yell at me but its my honest answer. I know, I know people are sick of hearing about it (sorry)

But if the above is my number one fear this is my 1.1 fear. The romances will be either eliminated or designed as an afterthought as well.

If either one of the above are the case I won't be purchasing this time which kind of stinks because that means I have to wait a few months after it comes out to actually play the game! Yikes!

My concern is that ME3 happens all over again. However, this time I won't pre-order, I really hope that the extra year does its job and that all those things that are promised between now and release come to reality.

Nonetheless, in the case that things go awry, at least I'll still have my money.

Thats true, you can't please all the people all the time. Shame though because I think DA has the potential to please a HUGE amount of people if they just take a little bit more care in what they do.

My biggest fear is that I'll let the BSN's opinions influence MY opinion of the game. Like seriously I had no idea DA2 and ME3 were so flaw-riddled until I came here. So I'll be avoiding the forums until I finish the game once or twice and I can form a solid opinion of my own before I venture into this fetid quagmire of bitterness.

That there is nothing in the game that causes people to over react and make the forums hell for a year and a half.

Well, there are some of them I dont want to see, like:

- Going back to the roots in DnD rulebook mechanics, for example forced camping in some peaceful corner of dungeon to recharge spells, health etc. Specially bad example of this was baldurs gate with "neverending" dungeons with new group of angry mobs behind every corner and then you needed to go back to some corner of the dungeon far enough from the enemies to be able to rest.

- Inventory management. If I want to play a game of inventory management... well, I dont. Always has felt like a stupid addition since first games which had it. Maybe it works better in pen and paper games, but in computer game its just silly, I really hated the me1 version where tons and tons of nearly identical guns/other gear dropped and then you had to spend 5-10 mins at the ship merchant to make room for the next main mission.

- mute hero. After me1-3 and da2 playing da1 seems to miss a big part of "good feeling" with mute hero.

- Lightsabers... while I enjoy star wars as much as the next guy, just NO.

My fear would be that the game, while satisfying, ends up feeling more derivative of other previous titles than standing out on its own. I'd heard bits and pieces from a few devs on DA:I ideas in the past they're messing with, but it's hard to tell what the final product will look like this early. It looks well-animated and open so far.

I guess my big question is going to be "What are they bringing new to the table for Inquisition?"

My biggest fear is probably issues with importing, and getting correct game states. DA2 was a huge headache for me in getting my "ideal" playthrough, due to issues with DAO/DAA import problems, and there wasn't even a transition to a new gen between the two.

So yeah, that's probably my biggest worry at this point. I want the universe to accurately reflect my decisions in previous games.

Secondarily, there are a few plot threads I'd like them to clear up and will find myself vaguely annoyed if they aren't. Particularly having to do with the oh-so-mysterious ~disappearance~ of the Warden. (I don't care how it's done, nor am I asking for a cameo for my Warden and/or Hawke. Just that the loose ends get tied up somehow.)

Otherwise, I don't really worry too much. I know it'll be fun. I'm not picky.

  • That my capacity to roleplay my character is undermined. I want to play the Inquisitor that I create and imagine not select from 3 differing tones.

  • That content for a female protagonist is more limited or shallower than that of her male counterpart.

  • That combat is dull and feels twitchy.
These are my fears but I have the impression that for DAI everything's going to be OK.  Image IPB

ME3 style auto-dialogue and stupid plot with illogical jumps and nonsense Deus Ex Mechanica plot devices like the Star Child.

Also, dull combat for the first 10 hours until you get enough skills to make things interesting.

- No answer to the cliffhanger of DA2.
- No re-playable game due to a lack of scenario.
- Less than 60 hours of game time with the main scenario.
- No new Bestiaries.
- No new surprises.
- No true epic fight at the end.
- No answers of some questions let in DAO and DA2. ( Dumat altar, Coripheus, Architect, Flemeth, the red lyrium)
- No add-on in the future or DLC

My main fear is that the development team is creatively limited by the fans. What the team was trying to do with DA2, for instance, was admirable and it would be a shame if they stopped taking risks to placate people on BSN.

I would also be sad if the corporate side of things somehow negatively impacted the game, yet at the same time I acknowledge you can't have a bottomless pit of money.

Ultimately I want to see a game where the team is enjoying what they do :)

That we won't have cool choices in our running of the inquisition. IE same things we had in DA Awakening, loved that we made choices for leadership and the interaction, but after the choice was made you really never seen the outcome only heard it. just like the very end of DAO where "the people are waiting to see you warden" the first time you head out you expect to see the cut scene, people waving etc maybe some familiar faces of those you saved then ending summary, but nope just text.

I chose to defend the farmland, didn't really see the outcome, I chose to send guards to the mine, I should have seen less in the keep or had ways of hiring more sense I had a ton of gold at the time :) Stuff like that, I want to live the reactions to my choices.

My greatest fears....

(1) ...that combat will be too much like DA2's.
(2) ...that there will be too much autodialogue and not enough conversation options to make the Inquisitor my character.
(3) ...that Morrigan's plans will turn out to be unambigously evil.

That's about it. I have other concerns, but these are the most important.

- Combat. Wasn't convinced of what was shown so far.

- Implementation of mounts. How will the companions be handled and if they can implement good animations.

Prepare to be disappointed...

My greatest fear would be that the main antagonist(s) are killed in a conversation, and not a battle where they fly around shooting lasers out of every orifice.

That combat will be like Dragon Age 2, where it felt like the enemies were playing a different game, due to massive health bars and extremely powerful AOE attacks.
