There is something about double negatives that I just can't put my finger on.

Seriously, if it weren't for Thane, I'd throw my copy of ME2 out in the rubbish, after what they did with kaidan :(

He was designed to be a love interest from the beginning.

I'd rather get frisky with an elderly quadriplegic Krogan than Thane.

I appreciate guys who can snap necks, have an amazingly sexy voice, the best mouth I've ever seen, a special nickname for my character, and oh, did I mention he can snap necks?
The idea is to be able to do things that we can't do in real-life and there are no Drell in real-life. In the tradition of Star Trek we get the chance to have a romance with an alien, who is humanoid but exotic and different.
I did mention he can snap necks right? Just making sure Image IPB

Hmmm...As a man, I can't help but notice the responses here have been largely contradictory.

Surprising? I think not.

No man could be attracted to a female drell, I know that much. Men need the asari, who are blatantly sexy. But a woman's taste can be so diverse...never ceases to amaze me. I was suprised to read that the artists at Bioware were actually trying to make Thane appealing to women.

That said, he is still one of my favorite character designs in the game.

Thane is sexy. He has a nice body. His eyes kinda of scared me at first, but I think they're kinda cool now. He's also calm, patient, intelligent, and a big, big softy.

I friggen love the fact he fails at being bad cop.

To judge him alone on the fact he's dying is pretty shallow. He has a lot of deep character in him.

Sniping, muscles, black leather, and crazy ninja skills. Plus intelligent, philosophical, and caring. What exactly is bad about this package? :)

HAD a wife. dead is dead, except when you're ressurected by cerberus. sure, he can vividly relive every moment with her, but as the song says, "if you can't be with the one you love, you gotta love the one you're with."

As for my own opinion, i really don't think he's that cool. i'm into girls, so that doesn't apply, but i still hear/read about how awesome he is and he made the box cover and the trailers and everything. eh. he's interesting because his species is unique, but i don't get why he's so great, otherwise. and i don't really like his outfit. but, at least it makes more sense than jack's.

Well game-wise, his skills combined with certain other squaddies (G.V./S./M.L.) totally blew through insanity on all of my classes so far. Shredder ammo is annoying, but other then that, he's a great squadmate.

I agree with you completely. Thane is a really great character. I hope they give us a chance to save him in ME3.

At first he remind me of Jiminey Cricket (Don't ask). They could have made him less cricket/reptile/fish-like. I think he is supposed to be the "tough-coolheaded-bad-boy" with inner vulnerability that can only be brought by an understanding female. Its too cliche.

I only like him for his zen-like personality.
