But in the end it's just a video game, of course. The romantic plot interests me by means of plot, character development and interations. It's not like I actually want to bone the guy! Ha. Excuse me.
Thane's look was ultimately decided by the women at bioware....

Why wouldn't any woman in their right mind find him attractive?

Thane is very interesting. I like him a lot. However, fish wasn't really the best animal type to go for when making something that supposed to be attractive.
Pretty sure he's supposed to come across as reptilian or maybe amphibian. I don't know where people got the fish idea from. Was it his original voice? Do the red areas on his face and neck look like gills to some people? I dunno.

I watched his character movie on Xbox Live the other day. The first thing that came into my mind was. Boy, he reminds me of a fish. Goodness, his lips are really wet.

Well his face resembles a greek god, he has very deep eyes and a nice bod with an awesome jacket to boot. Though his fishiness is a little weird... For me it's not soley his appearance that I find attractive. I've always had a soft spot for assassins. Especially the conflicted ones.Maybe others can relate to that, maybe not.

I desperately want his jacket. In game and irl.

Yeah, it's the red on his neck. Once someone said he looked like a fish, all I could see when I looked at them were gills. However, after looking at him straight on, it looks more like the underbelly of a snake to me, and the way his neck slightly fans out reminds me of a cobra. So, yeah. Some people can see fish, but now all I can see is snake. Which makes him even more awesome.

And about the fish-thing: Why was the first picture that came to my mind after someone told me about Thane, him swimming through Shepard's fish-tank?
I don't even think most people want to unterstand why we females want to romance aliens.I don't think I know why either.

'tis said that Drell "have some features you'd typically see in mammals, wink wink."
One would be curious as to whether this would also apply to the femme versions.
Are you aware that male reptiles actually have TWO appendages, you know...south of the border. Being mammalian might be considered a downgrade in that department.
Jeez, I'm a sordid person.
Also, why do so many guys come in Thane threads and start sounding all wounded and touchy about him? I think it's funny. I haven't hung around in any Liara threads so I don't know, but do multiple women come in and feel the need to say "I don't get it. You people are crazy. Blah, blah, blah." I suspect not. Anyway, carry on. This thread is hilarious.

They're actually called hemipenes, or 'half penis'. So, meh. Also, they often have spikes or hooks which they use to latch onto the female. So I'll take the mammalian version, thanks.

Cats have spikes on theirs as well so mammalian might not be much better.
Wait...are we discussing the ins and outs of the sexual anatomy of various animals, now?

You know it's time to exit the conversation when 'spiky penis' becomes an acceptable part of the dialogue.

Yeah, I know, dudes romance the aliens too. But, it's only the human-ish ones. Tali isn't an interesting character at all, she's very straight forward. However, she has hips that have no visible ending point. That's hot. Asari's have very humanoid faces and figures... yeah I know, they don't copulate like mammals do, but they gotta poop from somewhere. Just sayin'.
But Thane? He's like space tuna with legs. I guess this is just another way of me saying that women are... complicated lol. He's a fkn fish head ffs.
What? Thane looks VERY humanoid more so than a quarian; at least he has five fingers, normal legs(not to put down tali fans I support that guys should be able to romance her), a normal nose, human-like lips and similar cheek bones, not to mention the awesome bod over all (assassins probably get pretty muscular over time). Thane is basically the second most humanoid character next to the asari (that I can think of right now), it shouldn't be too surprising why so many people think he is attractive.
