Thane's look was ultimately decided by the women at bioware....

WHy romance a reptilian race of wanderers who cant survive without the aid of another's culture and world.
I'm sure if they were provided with another world, they'd survive fine, having (potentially) learned from their mistakes. Are you saying a person who is a refugee isn't deserving of love?
And him being 'reptilian-like' makes him all the more appealing. I can't go by personality since the game is not yet available, so I have to go by looks for now. He looks strong, lean, graceful, powerful, he has a deep voice, he's a little older (ewww to kid aliens *cough* Liara *cough*).. physically, he's everything an alpha male should be

Sheesh if ya really cared about why we like him then actually read the other posts people made (besides, thane is the second most humanoid alien next to the asari he looks more human than Tali (regular hands, fingers, legs, lips, and noses), why wouldn't we like him?). I doubt as many female fans go onto liara or tali threads asking why those guys like them....so insecure, but Thane is just that cool

'tis said that Drell "have some features you'd typically see in mammals, wink wink."
One would be curious as to whether this would also apply to the femme versions.
Are you aware that male reptiles actually have TWO appendages, you know...south of the border. Being mammalian might be considered a downgrade in that department.
Jeez, I'm a sordid person.
They're actually called hemipenes, or 'half penis'. So, meh. Also, they often have spikes or hooks which they use to latch onto the female. So I'll take the mammalian version, thanks.
Cats have spikes on theirs as well so mammalian might not be much better.
Wait...are we discussing the ins and outs of the sexual anatomy of various animals, now?I think that's my cue to vacate the premises. These crazy Thane threads do strange things to my mind.
Aren't you a well informed source on animals reproduction organs
Yea, I know, I know. I was almost a zoology major. I am a deep reservoir of useless data about all kinds of animals. World's most useless talent....I know.

If its some fictional character being a part of some dream reality they create in thier imagination that would make it so that i could understand a bit better.

Technically you can say you would fall in love with the burned guy, but in real life... I guess it would depend on your character, the burn degrees, stuff like that. He would propaply become a good friend or a platonic love.
I can't seem to find the right words to make my point, I'm sorry.

So because he seems like hes all those things you are attracted'....if a guy with burns all over his face was the same way would u still be attracted?
I said it was strictly physical until his personality is known. A man could have burns all over his face, but he's still a man and he'd still have that amazing body, deep voice, etc. I'm not attracted to severely scarred tissue, but I'm not so shallow that I'd automatically write a guy off just because of that. I, at least, would still give him a chance. Take Garrus (and almost all other Turian gents) for example. I didn't think "omg hot!" the first time I saw him, but instead came to think of him as hot as I interacted with him and enjoyed his personality.
But! Thane doesn't have that issue. He is super smexy.
Now, if I were to meet a Drell in real life.. well.. the eyes might creep me out then. The scales might not bother me too much, nor would the red whatever around his neck. But the eyes.. I wouldn't write a Drell male off, but.. that wouldn't stop the eyes from being a little intimidating. Good thing I'm able to enjoy Thane and his deliciousness in a video game

He's a badass, mysterious assassin warrior-monk who feels regret for his past of EPIC ASS-KICKING. He's got fathomless black eyes, a gorgeous body, and extremely sensuous lips. He's intelligent, cryptic, and slightly tragic without being all whiny and emo. He also has the sexiest growly voice of all time. Possibly as good as Stephen Russell's Garrett.
Um... why would anybody be confused by the attraction again? He's a sentient, gorgeous creature who despite his strong personality seems to be willing to serve under you and follow your lead. He may not be your cup of tea but nobody tell me you can't imagine why anyone would be interested. You would be a LYING LIAR WHO LIES.
Green scales and black eyes on a human shape is no less sexy than blue skin and tentacles on a human shape. Hell, some people even like aliens with chicken feet--Thane is less odd than that. And the fact that he has some strange characteristics is fascinating... you may cringe at first, but eventually you can't help but realize those quirks have their own odd appeal. A character like Thane is too intriguing to ignore, and I think even the ones that resist at first will be swiftly won over in game.
This exactly
