Then, I would be a bit saddened... I don't know, I want the next game to have very little connection to the trilogy... The Galaxy is HUGE, I'm sure it is possible to create a game with little connection to the trilogy! If not, then they better give me the option to annihilate the galaxy... or become its malevolent dictator... just so I can express, in-game what I feel about the galaxy and its smallness...
I'll still be interested in the series, though... Maybe... Well, the co-op multiplayer, if they will still have it, will keep me interested, at least.

Wow. What a great idea. Begin the story by sifting through a bunch of grisly dead and wounded bodies in the rubble/garbage on Earth to find Shepard. Then, after he gets the quadruple-amputation he needs (breath scene was clear), play as a companion that escorts him around the open world in a wheelchair. Awesome. 5-star product right there... NOT!!

I don't mean any offense, but this is a pointless discussion; we've already been told that Shepard won't return, the Commander's story is over. I get that some members like to discuss the hypothetical idea behind it anyway, but if you already created several threads about this subject, why not just bump one of them? It's not like we're in need of new threads around these parts.

There's no real need to search anyway. Presumably, Shepard is already found when the survivors on earth head up to the Citadel before it's rebuilt. I imagine the giant mass effect bubble created between the Crucible and Citadel center would be a pretty good place to start.
