You bought points, big deal. You got what you wanted, the points, they aren't meant for much of anything else. You haven't paid for RTO...haven't gotten it, therefore there is no way for you to have any problem and have the right to tell them how to do their job. Your customers pay you for your work...the work you have done, work they wanted you to do to their idea...if you don't do it, you don't deserve the money.

Excuse me, are you perchance upholding the theory that one would buy bioware points for the sake of it? Because i'd go out on a limb and define that theory a lil bit "Nutsy".

While that "400" in my client is indeed cute, it's utility is a tad limited for my taste. Again, playing devil's advocate might be fun, and I understand the lack of DLC makes your evenings boring, but let's be real here.

They told us "RtO will be released later today" -> we paid for RTO in the only way available. The Cause-Effect link is iron clad. There isn't much room for discussion or sophistries here.

Shouting troll and fanboy does nothing for ones argument and distracts from the actual meritable parts of the post. Regardless of who is doing it.

Sober words, and a good sentiment.

Are you sure you are feeling okay?

You know the best way to fight a troll?  Stick your wand up his nose, then have a friend levitate the troll's club above the trolls head and ...
or you could feed them, well, what do you normally feed to trolls, addiction21? ^_^

---

Seriously, no, don't feed trolls.  Not even toaster-heated breakfast goods!

When you buy the points, you are just paying for the points...whether to look at them or to buy something that is coming out. You only paid for the points, you got what you paid for. I got 400 points sitting there collecting dust as well...since December

Those points have a purpose, and that purpose is quite evidently to buy RTO. Bioware already has my money, your money, and lots of other people's money for RTO, and since they encourage people to pay them in advance, thet take upon themselves the responsibility of communicating about the status of the product we paid for.
But i'm sure you know this quite well, and you know just as well that you're just playing devil's advocate for the sake of it.

One post out of how many? I didn't look back because I knew I didn't see anything significant; I didn't think you'd point out a generic post like that. Whatever.

My point was that, instead of arguing on the point being made by another member, you instead decided to attack his credibility. This, to me, was ironic.

I could be, I might not be. I believe they have finally learned from their mistakes about these sudden RTO release dates....and you bought the points for a purpose, what purpose is that? For all we know you wanted them to look at them...becasue they are cool. Nothing more...so you bought what you wanted.

Yes, you're indeed playing devil's advocate just for it's own sake. Which is funny only up to a point.
Now, I'm sure you know that the effect of strawman arguments is just to prove their own invalidity, right?

I wonder if you believe there's a point in talking to someone only if you manage to make them change their mind and agree with you?

It might be because I am sober tonight :)
Trolling is a artform and I have not seen a honest to god troll around here.  A true troll only needs a single post and a sentence or two to start a fire.  What we have here are a lot of people (and not just in this thread but many many others. Which is not only restricted to this forum) that have some belief that the "its my opnion" or "its constructive critisim" gives them the right to treat others like like dirt.
I am no innocent but  I try my best and all too often something that was ment as a joke is taken the wrong way or I post something that I want to delete (cant delete posts but you can wipe out the text) but it has allready been qouted and at that point the damage is done. I will apologize when I feel it is needed.

No, there is just a point in which someone who is stuck in their ways and is probably on something to actually try and disgrace someone for actually giving answers and admitting that it was wrong of them to do that and they are working on it...but then again, you wouldn't know that.

1) Let's stop the back and forth here. It is dragging the thread into a place that it doesn't need to go.

2) Abriael, it's clear from your posting that you won't be happy until we put forth a confirmed release date for RtO. Well, we won't be happy until we have one either. of course, we have dates we would like to hit and, frankly, we would like to wrap this one up so we can move on to the next set of updates ourselves. But the fact is, the update is done when it's done.

Setting previous dates (holiday season, Jan. 5, etc.) was a mistake, since we didn't hit any of them. We were optimistic enough to set those dates, but things did not go as planned. Now, we are dropping back a bit and trying to realign expectations so we don't get a community all up in anticipation again.

But it's not fair to say that the note contained no information. First, you know that new code is in testing. We're not just looking into the issue or working on the fix. We've begun the testing process, which is the first phase of getting it released.

Second, we wanted to make it clear that there were lessons learned from the release. We're adjusting testing methodologies to better find these types of issues in future updates. This will be a benefit for all of our releases in the future.

Finally, we really are trying to improve communication and information flow around here. Notes like these are an indication of that. I have some meetings this week, where we'll work further toward getting updates on the questions floating about the forum, so we can help you feel better informed.

Victor... ^^ I've been trying rly hard to wait patiently for a nice message like this one... Kudos to you and the rest of the development team... Yah we all know that the Rto thing was a mess but atleast we as ur fans are seeing it set back up right... Now i'd still like to see a big nice pretty RtO ready to download on my PC tomorrow... chances are that's "not" gonna happen... but atleast i releish in the face that i will someday soon... and that hopefully.... The fine, talented people at bioware have not only corrected this mishap but learned from this mistake so it will not striken other DA:O or ME DLC's and patches to come in the furture which in of itself reassures me that you all in fact "do" know what yall are doing.... regardless to the contrary of what other people would like to say... So... Well... other then that... Plz keep up the good work... i havn't been yall's fan sence BG1 for without a reason... so Thanks, to you Mr. Victor... Chris, David, Stanley, and Fernando... All the other other people @ bioware that brother to take the time to actually answer this forum posts reguardless of there reducancy or idocy...

Before anyone reads this and feel's the need to quote Fanboy.. just trying to give some people credit where credit is do....

EDIT: Typo

God I can't even follow my own advice. lol

I wonder if Abe's just purposely trolling, to antagonize other members. It's starting to look more and more like it. He seems to be on all the time since this whole thing started.

I'm not gonna bother reading anything but Bioware posts in threads regarding RTO from now on since non-Bioware posts seems to revolve around Abe's constant bantering with other members.

Disgrace? aren't you being a tad extreme here?

I actually want nothing but good for bioware. I bought every single game they have produced, and I already have the mass effect 2 collectors edition preordered.
Though, I am disappointed by how they handled the situation here, and I'm voicing it. This doesn't mean that i want to "disgrace" them. This means that I'd like them to realize that there are better ways to handle communication with customers.
I doubt they feel "disgraced" by that.
