Some of us prefer honest disclosure over behind-the-back speculation. Why is that so hard to understand?

Wow, I didn't know you were in the bioware offices and microsoft's watching them so you could obtain your alleged information.  Amazing.  Seven signs of evil? lmao. Substantial proof? I see... well I have yet to see this alleged proof so I'll just keep believing in the good of all. Image IPB

Your failure to accept simple logic astounds me.
The facts are, BioWare said RtO needs further testing across all platforms, yet people have played it and reported nothing wrong with it.
The only bug is in the title update which a) is specific to the 360 and B) is entirely seperate from the DLC itself.

Therefore BioWare are either a) lying or B) genuinely think that a bug specific to one platform that has nothing to do with their DLC requires that the DLC be delayed and tested across all platforms, at which I'd award them the Congressional Medal of WTF.

Or c) maybe they just want to run all versions through all their new QA processes in order to see exactly what the new processes really take in terms of time and materials?

Moreover, maybe they do value M$ and don't want to strain their relationship with them.  Can't they do that AND care about their customers?

Donno....

Do you honestly think they are legally bound to not state simple facts? If the contract they have with M$ stipulates a simultanious release no matter what, then why not tell us? It is hardly pointing fingers, it's simply disclosing something that most of us already know anyway.

I do. And even if they weren't, do you really think they want to come out and tell pc users they were lied to when told that the consoles wouldn't affect the release of future content? I can only speculate that there is an agreement in place; although it does seem likely.

It's very, very possible.

Let's assume for a moment that this is correct. I would then prefer silence over excuses that hold about as much water as a cheese grater.

And most other forum users want to hear something. So they can't win. Maybe instead of forums they should just email everyone registered. The it is up to you do turn on/off annoucements

You realise how stupid that'd be to use a product that's already been delayed at least twice as your benchmark for a new testing system?
And that even if you did what's to stop them from releasing it now and patching it later if they truly find something bad? Was Dragon Age itself perfect on release? I think not.
Sure you'd have some people complain about this or that bug, but that's preferable to having EVERYONE waiting for the DLC yet again.

Moreover, maybe they do value M$ and don't want to strain their relationship with them.  Can't they do that AND care about their customers?

M$'s policies are completely at odds with anyone's concept of customer care so really.. no they can't.

All their fault? You know that Haiti is the one and only country where slaves overthrown the slavers and took power, rright? And after that, for over 30 years, US military invaded and "governed" that country. And then put a nefarious Baby Doc who then self proclamed President for life and then his son took the title and then the US leaded sanctions that ruined the country. Yeah, in name of democracy the worst barbarism were committed but I still think that slavers wouldn't let the once slaves get away with it!

And for those who think that saying "I accuse" is the same as expressing an oppinion... you really should learn better. Last time I saw a Londoner that angry was when Brazil screw them over in a World Cup match, like we usually do and when it's not Brazil, it's Argentina! But I won't bite a cretin for that... he might be rabid or contagious...

I could assure you that the leaked version has issues and if people are still playing it is prolly because they never had the intention to buy it to begin with while I have my 400 points already spent and assigned to RtO as shown in my "Registered Game Promotions".

And you do realise I was trying to lighten the mood by being facetious. Considering you were the only one that really bit I can only assume you didn't.

And how can you assure me that people are having issues with the leaked version?

Hey while we're at it can we also start a petition to have people stop spamming this thread because they can't stand the opinions of others? That'd be great.

Believe it or not an unrelated bug in an unrelated software update has absolutely nothing to do with the DLC.

A fact that is entirely irrelevant. They modified their QA process, they're going put anything they haven't yet released through the new procedures, to make sure there wasn't anything they missed that these new procedures would find. This is the entire point of putting these new procedures into place.

Which they have done, you're just choosing to refuse to believe it.

Anyhow I'm off to lunch, and I'm done with the argument. Those are the facts of the matter, if you wish to continue to blind yourself to them, that is your own business.

How is it irrelevant?
And you're basically saying that they only came up with this QA process recently and have decided to delay RtO yet again for no reason!

There is a bug in the 360 title update, but like all companies they are obligated to ensure all their products are good to go. Hence the need for DLC delay across all platforms in order to run their new system tests.  B), minus the flame, Bioware does believe that a bug specific to one platform is of enough concern to test other platforms, again that is why they have implemented the new test system and delayed release,

Maybe it would be stupid, but maybe it's worth it (assuming there is value in using it for benchmarks) given that the current situation is already a debacle.  The idea of release now and patch later is valid.  Do you think they made a mistake pulling the 360 Title Update off?  Or should they have just patched it later?

We all want the best product in a timely manner, but it's easy to see where these are constantly in tension and decision have to be contastant made and remade between them.

Maybe with companies like M$ and Bioware it's different, but I can certainly manage to be friends with both people who really share my values and with those who don't so much.   Relationships are often complex, contradictory, and just weird.

Thanks

I always care, I'm a caring person :wizard:

And talking about caring, go show a lil of support people. Despite the RtO debacle the game deserves those awards.

If anything, delaying RtO on all platforms to test an hour long DLC is a colossal waste of time and money and is totally needless. What BW should be doing is putting these lessons learned into action on follow up DLC, by not giving a specific release date, test all platforms on the new system at the point when they actually need it and finally release it after all is said and done.

All this jerking around now is completely pointless as there is only one apparent flaw with one version of the DLC and that seems to be related to the title update. Further delays are needless and wasting time that could be spent making more DLC properly. Put RtO to bed and just release the other versions and apply whatever fix is needed for the xbox version later.

I would rather be patient and wait for a stable release than getting another accident that locked all of my specializations.
I was one of the few that paid for and downloaded the DLC the morning it was up for a couple of hours...hopefully I won't have to delete it and re-download it or have to pay for it again.  Victor was nice enough to address this issue so hopefully we will get a definitive answer soon.

Do you... honestly think that PC users would say they have played RtO here? On this forum? Even though as far as I'm aware it wasn't made officially available on the PC version, so they'd basically be admitting to piracy?
Do I even have to explain what's wrong with that?
