Victor, please contact the web team and tell them to remove the "Available this holiday season" line from RtO in the Add-on section. It's very misleading for the people who don't know about all this fiasco, and purchase points thinking that RtO has been released already.

Also, you should make two differenciated sections in the addon website, one for Available Now content, and one for Coming Soon content.

Yes, excuse us for responding like rational human beings rather than stamping our feet. I suppose I could understand if you were playing on the 360 and your game was borked, but you're just upset over the lack of RtO release on the PC.

So basically, you're saying that PC users have to wait further for RTO? We get 4 days of absolutely no communication, and then a big wall of text about the 360 (whose players are ALREADY enjoying the DLC we didn't even SEE), and no mention how when the hell we'll get the content many of us already paid for due to your misleading communication?

Paint me EXTREMELY disappointed.

Just release this damn DLC and do away with it. We all know that the PC one is ready to ship, and has been for days. PC users take a backseat to console users too often already.

The guy who just wanted information is still upset when the information he receives is not what he wants to hear. Color me surprised.

All i read is "360, 360, 360, wait longer".

This isn't much better than the "good morning, we're working on it, have a nice day" responses we got before.

Honestly, this is getting ridiculous.

And where exactly is the information? i see no release dates, no timeframes. It's just "we'll test it longer, wait".
It'll be funny to stand and watch how long the rabid fanboys will continue to bend over and beckon.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here.  Not "every" 360 user got the DLC.  I would say that some of the 360 users (myself included) got doubly screwed considering some of us logged online to get RtO, got the patch, only to discover that RtO was already gone, AND my specializations gone.  So play your PC fiddle somewhere else because it's not like you got bent over lately like I did.  You've just had to sit and watch lol.

There's a fix out there for your console, it's your choice not to use it. Personally, I'm sympathetic towards the console users that got screwed, but there's absolutely no reason why their version should continue holding back the PC one. It's simple as that.

I'm glad to hear that you are taking steps to prevent this from happening again. To be honest, I will not be downloading any patches or dlc on day one after all this, it just seems too risky.
Anyway, thank you for making the time to explain to the community exactly what is happening and why. Hopefully you will have better "incident response" measures in order if anything like this were to happen again.
Looking forward to Awakening!

Abriael: I understood from their post that they recognize holes in their QA and they realized that the problem extends beyond the 360 version, which means they now need to triple test everything because there could be other bugs on the other versions that are similar to the 360 if not the same.

I would be very very surprised if Bioware hasn't learned their lesson about announcing release dates in advance. Just the hint that RtO would be available "Later Today" brought the site to its knees with people constantly refreshing to check to see if "Later" had turned into "Now". I'd be surprised if we get any sort of advance notice about the release, instead just an announcement when its live.

You know that no one held you at a gunpoint to buy a clearly inferior version of a game? just saying...

When you take people's money in advance with a point system it's extremely unethical not to give a proper release roadmap.
You basically got it backwards. The problem isn't giving release dates. The problem is being unable to meet them when you give them, which means poor planning and resource allocation.

Victor, thanks for the update!  Good to know you guys are hard at work on the problem and I hope you get the outpouring of support you all deserver.
At least enough to drown out the people who are going to complain even if you gave them chocolate-covered diamonds.

It sounds like a general explanation as to why they are withholding RtO, rather than for why they missed the issues with the Title Update. The Title Update is addressed specifically later on in the post.

The whole thing is about the title update except one sentence about RTO being delayed again.

DoctorPringles wrote...

Again, I doubt they are concerned
about the Title Update occuring on, say, the PC. I would assume they
are concerned that something similar could also happen on another
platform. They do need to update the achievments and trophies for the
PC and PS3 as well, so they want to ensure the same doesn't happen in
those updates. Again, it's purely a precaution for other, seperate,
issues that may arise.

I don't think I'm getting my point across very well. Let me try again. This specific title update was meant solely for the 360, so I'm assuming any testing for it would have been done on a 360. If I'm correct on those two points, then there are not multiple configurations to take into account aside from memory storage and I don't think that has much to do with the issue. Since there was only one system configuration to test this specific title update on, it follows that there would few if any unexpected issues that popped up once testing had been completed. If I'm correct there, then the effect the title update had on everyone's systems makes no sense since it shouldn't have been something that could be missed easily. The only variables to take into account would be whether someone had one or more DLC's installed, and I would think that they already thought of that before they started testing things because they're obviously some smart people or they wouldn't have been able to create such an awesome game to begin with. So I'm confused what multiple system configurations have to do with it.

For something that is going to multiple platforms, I understand. For this, I'm just all kinds of confused.

Do you really not see the irony in you dismantling your argument with every additional post? The information you've been pretending you want is there (you've attempted to dismiss some of it through even more conspiracy theory, not surprisingly), it just isn't the information you actually wanted to hear. We get it. You want RtO and you want it now. No amount of information, dates you can mark on your calendar, or hours from the latest BioWare meeting are going to appease you, so how about we drop the act.

And do you really think BioWare is worried about losing you as a customer? You've been living on this forum since the 13th. Clearly it is not just because of some righteous defense of customer service.

Ahh, see now it makes sense to me. Wish I'd refreshed the page one more time before typing that last post out cause that one took me awhile to phrase right.

Thank you. I understand now. :D
