PC gamers normally take a backseat to console ones in the eyes of developers for almost every game out there. For once the PC version is the "lead version". It's quite obvious that PC gamers aren't happy to see their own releases take a backseat to console ones as usual.
We were openly promised that console development wouldn't have influenced the PC version, when it was time to do damage control to keep PC gamers happy on the announcement of the delay of the game to extend it to consoles.
Most people simply aren't keen on broken promises, or promises that they perceive broken.
I understand that, but talking about issues relating to the PC version isn't exactly best served in a thread, that's by all intents and purposes, aimed at 360 owners and to a lesser extent PS3 owners.
PC rants are best kept to the other thread where they are actually relevant, no?
Yourself and others are doing nothing but spamming this thread with your PC related concerns thinking it will somehow make a diffrence, when it's plain to see it's making little difference.
Don't let me stop you though.
May I state YET AGAIN, that I am a PC owner, I have been waiting like all of you for fixes, DLC...etc etc and I'm STILL NOT ANGRY.
I really hate to see people at each others throats because of whatever platform is their chosen way to play games...in the large picture that..doesn't matter ..we are gamers FIRST...some of us a bit impatient..understandable.
We have been given the information that they are allowed to give us at this point and time...to keep on moaning and groaning day after day about the same damned thing when people know its not going to help is just plain silly.
I see Abriael and Sarah doing their part to upset people in this thread again..........I will not say the beast who lives under a bridge label...but damn you guys give it up already...people are upset enough as it is.
AND JUST BECAUSE software pirates state that there is "nothing" wrong with the game ..RTO ...whathave you it doesn't mean because they say so that its true.
They haven't done the testing on the application, pushed it to whatever limits the testers do, and therefore are NOT qualified to tell the rest of us...that its good to go.
Who's going to believe a thief? Not me.

And it's hilarious the number of gamers that feel that not being a developer means not having the right to voice an opinion... :innocent:
The right to voice an opinion is universal. However, if said opinion is coming from someone that has not worked in game development, it doesn't hold much water in my eyes.
Anyone can be a critic. But it takes a special blend of talent, skill, and know-how to create.
edit: bloody hell, can't fix my [b] tag in my sig for this post.
You don't need to work in the industry to have followed it long enough and had enough experience with other situations of this sort (and it happens alot, especially with MMO's) to know what to usually expect when it comes to support and information when said situations happen.
I think its great that they have commented on fixing the 360 version's title update and aparently will be putting changes in motion to keep it from happening in the future. Thats a definate great thing and I'm happy for it. In the same sense though being outright vague about the status of the PC version does nothing but fuel speculation be it right or wrong.
Most of us understand that if there is a contract in place with Microsoft that PC DLC can not and will not release before 360 DLC, that Bioware is most likely not at liberty to say so. Still with that being said its a total contradiction to what the PC user base was originally lead to believe that the console skus would not affect the PC sku. First the 8 month delay to launch alongside the console versions (mostly prolly to due with EA not wanting to market the same title twice) Now waiting for DLC just due to issues with a 360 title update that may or may not have anything to do with said DLC at all.
It really doesn't take a rocket scientist nor personal experience in the industry to piece together what is most likely going on here.
Rocket science or not...they aren't going to tell us more than they are ready to tell us.. it was stated in those recent last posts that they are examining the other platforms as well..using their new testing process.
I don't get whats so mysterious about that. If there is a contractual agreement with whomever...there's nothing we can do about that. Legal contracts are not really our business....are they?
But that is an assumption we don't know if that is the case.
We've been allowed certain information and thats all we'll get for now...no matter how much we needle them, nag them and carry on.
Again I will state that I hope the next time they go to release a dlc, that they don't tell us til its ready to download, this has probably been more stress on them than need be.
All the insults, crappy, erroneous information from certain posters....moaning and groaning would be eliminated and maybe some folks around here will start acting like they have some sanity left.

This is an exercise in futility. I don't know anymore what I had hoped to accomplish (outside of thanking Victor for the update) but it is clear there are several individuals posting in this thread who's seem to at least in part simply want to stoke arguments.
My suggestion to you is what I'm doing myself after this post, Ferale (and others trying to keep discussions reasonable) - leave this thread to those who just want to complain and argue. As long as they break no forum rules, it is their right to do so. We don't have to engage them and we don't have to provide them with a foil.
Left to simply agree with each other, the thread will simmer down on its own.

Hope all you 360 gamers get your fixed patch soon, and that those who lost stuff due to the title update are able to somehow retrieve your data!

Anyway Bioware people, I tried really hard to read some pages of this thread but I couldn't read through all that as it was mostly just you're an idiot, no your an idiot etc etc so apologies in advance if this has been answered in some form;
But why is the PC version delayed if it's a problem with the console achievements etc? Contractual or is the PC version bugged too? Will one version not be released until all 3 are ready?
Thanks
I do have a 360 as well before people flame me for PC gamer elitism or something.
What platform you own has nothing to do with "elistism", much like having a black friend doesn't mean you aren't a racist.
Edit: That probably came off harsher than I meant it. All I wanted to say is if you don't want to come off as an elitist, then don't present yourself as one. If you feel the need to proclaim that you aren't an elitist, maybe you should go back and reevaluate your wording or stance. It's like the person who puntuates their insults with "no offense".

Well i hope it would happen so these forums get some rest for a few days so other customers can follow a thread without having to weed through the insults/condensending talks of the same members.

If they did that Merin they'd have to stop acting holier than thou, tossing insults and name calling. Prolly wouldn't be quite as much fun. I will say one thing though. I certainly won't be buying bioware points until a product is actually available from now on thats for sure.

Oh dear lord what is wrong with people that post on here? I asked a simple question relating to the PC version and put in a little disclaimer for the user that made a post before me accusing people of asking about the PC version of some form of elitism.
I'm a console gamer first if you must know but whatever, I was and am, still only interested in the version I own.
I'm not going to comment about your racism comparison because I'm guessing you are some stupid little white kid that does not have a clue about racism but wants to sounds remotely intelligent with a weird analogy.
But yeah gaming+racism=win. Go you
*edit - as for your edit, I could care less how I come off to the majority of people that use this forum I was just trying to stop any ridiculous replies like the ones before - and after it would seem - my comment because I don't care.
For the last time, I ONLY CARE ABOUT THE VERSION I OWN, I'm not altruistic.

Thing is, this type of comment really doesn't help. You're essentially doing the same thing, except targetting both sides of the argument.
I understand that there really is not much else to do at this point and time, but I just wanted to point it out for when mods eventually return.
EDIT: Namecalling isn't the issue here. Both sides are equally insulting, both outright and through implication. Seriously, it's going in circles now and is just going to get people moderated.

It wasn't meant to be insulting, just an observation. I realize it sounded a bit harsh and edited it, you can go back and read that if you'd like.
You shouldn't have to put disclaimers, and, frankly, they come off as insincere and insecure. Due to your response, I'd definitely lean towards the latter.

I have the content downloaded, but have not played it due to leveling up my Mass Effect character for Mass Effect 2. Should I delete the DLC or will the new update resolve the issues ?
I did load the game up with the DLC just to look at the map to see where it was located, but did not save any games, are my save's good or bad ? I hope no saves means all is good.
On the DLC screen at the start of DA it shows that RtO is free, I know I paid 400 MS points for it. I'm confused. I'm not complaining about 400 points just confused.

Selective memory is one of the premier tools of forum warriors. And as any forum warrior, them and those on their side of the argument are the "good guys", while the others are the "bad guys" that call names, post ad personam, eat babies and burn books.

DA:O is an incredibly large, very deep and complex game, making it virtually impossible to test every system and permutation possible for each update/DLC.
First, thank you Victor for the update. It's much appreciated.
I'm a bit confused here though with the part I've quoted... The title update was solely for the 360, correct? And aside from memory storage size differences an Xbox 360 is an Xbox 360, correct? I'm confused what testing every system has to do with an Xbox 360 title update since the configuration isn't varied much if at all between them. For DLC's and updates for all systems I understand it, but for a title update that was meant for the 360 I'm afraid what I've quoted is just not making sense to me.
I am pretty sure that when he talks about "systems" he means in-game mechanics and systems, not the xbox 360.
