Why do people think they need to point out other's mistakes, other then to trying to appear superior to everyone else, in a game forum that has nothing to do about the game topic?
Maybe everyone is not an English Major?

Nearly as bad as the Spelling Police.

If you read my statement properly, I also apologized in advance since I was frustrated about it being used wrongly here AND in other places I visit consistently. If you notice, not one of my posts ever talks about grammar or spelling aside from that one, so don't imply that I do this constantly when I don't.

I wanted to get it out of my system in a topic where both sides tried using the term insultingly when it wasn't even properly used, because its usage in that sense - as well as the entire argument and implied/direct namecalling - is incredibly silly. That way I can vent while keeping it focused on what is going on at hand (though admittedly not on focus of the topic in general).

We all have our pet peeves.

Your mederation of this thread is already overacting. Why don't you go through all the posts and keep notes on those who are blatantly disregarding your rules?

Clearing the cache is not a guaranteed fix, all it does it erase the title update. Whether or not your specializations unlock after getting 1 is a mystery as far as I can tell because it works for some and not others, myself included. If it doesn't work for you, then start a new game and reunlock them. Or reload some old saved games and reunlock them that way. You can unlock several in camp within minutes if you have a character that has a good repoir with your team mates. I had to unlock all mine from scratch and it literally took maybe an 1.5 hours, that's with creating a new guy so that I could buy the Spirit Healer and Ranger Manuals after Ostagar. Do you really think that BIOWARE is going to develop some patch specifically for this? Do you want them wasting countless hours on that instead of on RtO or Awakenings when you can do it yourself, and could have by the time they get RtO out. I mean really, this waiting for BIOWARE to fix it, you may be waiting awhile. Think about what kind of coding would go into this. It will have to code that you had them unlocked to begin with, so as people who didn't unlock them, can't just get the update and get all the specializations for free where as we all had to "work so hard' to unlock them. Just make a new character, go unlock them and enjoy the game already people.

It is very obvious that you have NO CLUE what the problem is.

The specializations do not stay unlocked after you unlock them.  They lock back up.  Then when a character levels and gets the specialization points all the specializations are locked up.

Yes I played a character and unlocked the specializations, I enjoy the game and don't mind getting them reunlocked but the fact is MR. Iknownothingaboutthispants they do not stay unlocked and when my dwarf unlocked duelist and then Zev leveled duelist was locked on him along with bard which I had unlocked and for Sten Templar was locked even though I had unlocked it.  When Wynne leveled shapeshifter was locked even though I had unlocked all this stuff in this playthrough.

Bioware had better fix this because as the game is it is not possible to unlock ANY of the SPecializations for any of the characters.  If they do not come preprogrammed with the specialization then you don't get to unlock it even when you have unlocked it via dialogue or reading the books you buy.

It is NOT possible to fix this myself with the method you have posted because were it possible I would have done it already since I DID USE the method you suggest.

Figured I would give it a couple days... still nothing, eh?

So how are things, Addiction21? Doing anything interesting while waiting for RtO? Played through all the content? Played some Mods? I have yet to get the dev tools or any mods... suggest anything good while we wait for RtO?

What is the value for the constant in the equation Time waiting (in days) = k x new content (in mins)? I suspect it will turn out to be about 0.5 (optimistically at this point). For the math challenged, that means 45 mins of content will require 22.5 days of waiting. Not a good return on time invested IMO.

Now this is funny PC and ps3 owners and some 360 peeps are waiting on RTO which is supposed to be 1 hour tops, and it is incorpated into the main campaign. Now the funny part it seems some modders have come up with their own form of DLC that is incorporated into the main campign that is 30-60 minutes long. I have not played it yet but I just think it's funny that some modders have come up with something that works  within the main campign before the company that made the game can get RTO out for us.

I know before I get flamed that Warden keep is out although in my opinion that was a poor DLC, and stone prisoner cant  be counted in this since that was originally meant to be in the main game so in truth  that is not a true DLC. In the end I hope they get RTO for us although in 5 days I will be playing ME2 and RTO will be forgotten at that point. But for those that want some added content now for DAO I thought I would share this info.

It is called the Alley of Murders, and here is the link.

Yeah I mentioned that mod in the old locked thread.  :)  I listened to the voice overs, not bad considering they aren't professionals. :)   Planning on downloading it, had a look and looks like it might be fun. :)

I played it. It's very, very nice, and seemingly bug-free. The voice acting is really nice for something made by amateurs.

Isn't it ironic that the community released it's first full-fledged add-in before bioware?

Yeah it is humorous the community scores 1 point releasing before ME2. Bioware still sits at 0 for RTO before release of ME2. The crowd goes wild. ;)

What has been bugging me the most is that RtO simply adds new assets to the game. New environments (well, more a rehashed old one with added snow), some new NPCs, new equipment, new quests, new voice acting. But that's indeed just new assets that anyone given the talent and time invested, could insert himself into the game using the toolset.

It doesn't increase the level cap or alter the game mechanics, it doesn't add new customization options or tamper with the engine. It's just data, sound files and textures inserted with the toolset.

What the hell could have gone so horribly wrong with that? Given that the tool set is out there and being used, it should be a pretty seamless process. Unless there's something very wrong with the toolset that still hasn't been made public.

Yeah but yanno, Microsoft doesn't magically create bugs on content that, by it's own nature, shouldn't tamper with the engine at all.

From what I understand what the pv toolset is a toned down version, and more basic version of what the DEV'S use I could be wrong but that is what I've heard. I've used the PC toolset myself and made items myself like king calins gold armor, and 2 handed sword and shield with the existing models that are included in the toolset, and have not run into any problems. I give kudos to the modders though that made Alley of Murders for making the 1st incorporated addin for the main game from the community.

That is quite a step forward. I've seen modders come up with other campaigns but it is nice to see a real addin for the game created, and I have hopes for more to come in the near future. So we are not all dependant on Bioware to supply is content for the main game. Especially with The curse of RTO. ;)

I believe they stated it was a "quality" issue...not up to their standards.

This is from that IGN interview with Fernando:

"Fernando Melo:No, it has nothing to do with platforms themselves. It's a quality issue where, literally, at the last minute, we spotted something that had made it through our own testing, EA's testing and was at Microsoft already. But it applies to all three platforms; it wasn't something specific to Microsoft, we just happened to catch it there first. We probably could have gone with it, but it's something that was serious enough that we felt it impacted the quality [of the DLC] and we made the choice to delay it to give our fans the best experience with it."

A quality issue sounds like something that wasn't good looking or fun to play enough. On the other hand, how does such an issue have anything to do with testing? it has to do with design mostly.
The more I read what they wrote, and apply it to what I know about the game's architecture, the more puzzled I am, to be honest.

Yeah I hope they make it better with more quality and depth than what the 360 people that were able to get it were saying it had in it. I can see the reason for delay plus obviously there were bugs in it, hence the 360 spec and achievment bug. Plus I'm sure they want to test and make sure it is not a bug that can transfer to the other platforms as well.
