We did. I put forth a proposal. It was accepted, and now we are in the process of getting me access to various databases and whatnot so that I can compile updates on a regular basis. It's coming, but a change in communication processes is not an overnight affair.
I'm not trying to be a jerk, but it will probably going to come out that way anyways. So I'm sorry if it does.
Simply put. Not having access to databases and whatnot should not stop you from digging up additional information that can be released and posting it in a timely fashion. Even if it requires the standard disclaimer of "This isn't a promise or a guarantee", which pretty much everything should be announced and taken that way unless it is done.
Edited for bad cut/paste formating

Don't worry, not taken the wrong way, the easiest way to put this, is the fact there are so many different areas of management/directors, that to compile all the info wouldn't be a "Quickfix".
And please don't think I'm trying to deflect any hard feelings away from this, it's just tiring ya know?

Honestly Abriael, have you been giving out the ganja to the regulars or something? Did I miss it?
Back on topic - a little sad to see that Victor hadn't come up with anything new, but I know things take time. I'll just go back to my 2 handed rogue back-stabbing everything in sight.

There is a distinct difference between "making perfect sense" and "writing something that appeases your side of the discussion". I didn't suddenly start making sense just because I wrote something you may like. Contrary to many here that defend or attack for the sake of it, I simply have a balanced stance, and give leeway where it's due, and only where it's due.
Also, I know reading selectively is always a temptation, but it's not like the "community" is made by the four people that always defend bioware whatever happens. if you look around, you'll notice that "the community" has always been requesting better and more informative communication.
It's really that simple. :innocent:

seriously dude I was being facetious. I was interpreting a more balanced view of your comments - it wasn't meant to be a dig/insult at you. Considering last time I looked you pretty much just kept saying every time that their communication was poor and that in your job you wouldn't be able to get away with that. I don't disagree with that point, but your posts appear to be taking a more balanced view of everything, that was all.
And, if you take the other rto thread as an example, it was very much split between those who totally agreed with you, and those who were pretty sick and tired of you making the same statement again and again. Once again, not a dig at you at all.
edit: and I see Sarah once again having her 2 cents - maybe things haven't changed

It's not that it's "more balanced" than it was before, mind you...
It's always been balanced on what was the right thing to do in this case, which is a much better and more informative communication. When I see an hint to actually making an effort to achieve that, there's no need to hammer further until the results, or lack of thereof, of that effort show. When a reasonable explanation (in my experience) about the delay on information is given, there's no reason for me not to back it up.
Of course this doesn't mean infinite leeway, admins and server monkeys don't spend their time sleeping all the time, so if by Monday I don't see anything tangible posted on the forums, i'll start wondering if our brave community manager has been making some phone calls to speed the process up a bit

Mind you, I still think that official apologies for this whole mess would be in order, expecially since the only real apology they gave was to the xbox 360 users, like the ones on PC aren't being hit by the problem as well.
But looks like they aren't picking up on that, which is a pity.
One can't always have what he wants, or what it'd be right to receive.
The ironic part is that since there's a fix to the specialization bug, now those 360 users that downloaded RTO are enjoying it in the face of everyone else. With this Microsoft basically managed to "steal" another of their idiotic "timed exclusives" with which they regularly screw up half of the gaming market, even when it wasn't supposed to happen. I honestly hope that Bioware and EA will push a contract breach and that Microsoft will have to pay for that, in some way.
I'll be reasonably happy with the information, when it comes.

No offense Mprez. but I just don't find it particulary helpful to attack people who hold Bioware to a higher standard given their track record and their catalog of titles as a fan friendly developer and expected a better channel of support and information when the crap hit the proverbial fan.
Regardless if Abby or my own ****ing had anything to do with a motion put in place to improve communication when things go wrong, I think in the end most will agree that some form of info will beat out absolute silence any time.

I'm sorry but that generalization it's not true. I have the DLC but I have not played it because if you clean the cache and then you play the DLC the achievement does not pop up. This could seem to you a silly thing but it's not because the title update that mess up everything was exactly to fix the previous bug with the achievement of the others DLC.
So not everybody is playng the DLC.
Please, remember that the xbox users are not the responsible for the delay of the DLC.
Sometimes I read some comments and I really want Bioware let out the DLC and the update to everybody with all the bugs so you can "play" it the same way as us.
I get it, you want the DLC, but give the xbox users a moment... It's not our fault.

Yeah well I think you and I asked the same question earlier in the thread which I would love for them to answer, but I doubt they will. It would be nice, as a pc user, to get some acknowledgment though that we appear to be being left behind (although ps3 users are getting it even worse - but no promises were made to them) and 360 users are basically getting a one up on both the pc and ps3.
but it is your choice not to play it. There is nothing stopping you from doing so apart from the achievement - which at the end of the day should be neither here nor there in terms of you actually enjoying the content. And yes, xbox users are the cause of the delay. The dlc would have been out already if xbox users hadn't cried about the fact that there was originally not going to be any achievements for this dlc.aka.seim wrote...

And there are many people playing it on the pc already who are experiencing no bugs at all - this has been stated many times.

No offence taken. Ignore my comment at you - I have just gone from day shift to night shift and at my age the body doesn't accept it quite so well. I have no issue with you or anyone holding them to a higher standard, although I did have an issue with anyone taking an optimistic view of Bioware given their history of great games on the pc being called a fanboy and basically being accused of having blinders on. They have never really 'failed' me as most other developers have in the past, so perhaps I do give them more leeway, and perhaps more than I should. But I have never been a blind fanboy.
Anyway, hopefully things continue to move in the right direction. if not, there will definitely be noises made.

No offense but I'm fairly sure 9 out of 10 PC users could care less about some silly useless achievement. I too have a 360 and I've never quite understood what the big deal is about achievement points is. Its not like you can use them for anything other than to brag at how "leet" you are.
Though I don't remember anyone blaming 360 users at all in the first place for what its worth.
