No sillier than whats going on here, to be honest.
I agree, its absolutely silly that an hour long DLC is almost a month late and we still pretty much have no new information on it than we did 3 weeks ago.

Thats a pretty silly thing to say. Having an opinion is one thing,
but when it completely contradicts standard business practice for the
entire industry you're talking about, expect to be debated on it.

this is true. once the release window has been set, then retailers will start the preorders. of course, the product can still be delayed past the window...
And if that happens, the developer will give them a new one, otherwise the retailers will eat their face

You can't have it both ways Fera. Retailers don't start offering preorders unless they at least have a tentative release date.

But the customer can cancel the preorder right? From what I gather, people cannot get their Bioware points back as easily.

Some websites in NZ actually put games like Diablo III on their websites with a release date of Dec 2010 (they can't go into the next year it seems) even though we know that won't be the case....

Obviously I meant the game industry in regards to release dates. Since you know, Bioware makes video games, Which isn't really debatable as a retailer like Gamestop or Amazon for example does not offer presales on sku items they don't at least have a tentative release date for.

Double post so editing
So from the post below me, it would seem that the core comparisson between a pre-order and what happened with the Bioware points and announced and canceled release is not really relevant.
The main point would be that Bioware mislead (even if not deceived) their customers to think that they would be buying the product that very day, which made said customers buy the points. This is the real point of disagreement, it seems.

yeah for someone on a console it probably isn't as big of a deal as they (360 users especially) have a ton of content they can get. Whereas pc users are really stuck - especially if they don't want ME2 at all.
A lot of people wouldn't have bought the points if they had known it would not have been out yet. I bought points but I am not too concerned as I will get it whenever it comes. And if it doesn't, you will be able to use the points for Awakening anyway.

I wouldn't have thats for sure. Kinda stinks for me personally since I'll be playing ME2 on the 360 since thats the platform my ME1 saves are.

I would have thought they would have made it so that you could use the bioware points - I mean it is a Bioware game. I understand it would be a logistical nightmare, but still some way of easily crediting them over and tagging that they only be used for Bioware games would have been good. I'll be getting ME2 on the 360 as well. I don't have any saves worth porting over, but I just feel it plays better as a console game than a pc game. Even though it feels like KOTOR, which I personally hated on the xbox and thought was great on the pc, it must be the sole shooter aspect of it or that you are actively holding shoot - not point and clicking. If it had swords I would probably want the pc version though

On a side note, I always love the ones that come on forums screaming "I have a real life! Look at me! I'm going dancing with my beautiful blonde bombshell girlfriend! I have a real life! I'm not like you all! Pay me attention!" :innocent:
I can almost feel the smell of basement dwelling and unwashed armpits all the way from their homes to here

Don't mind the empty bottles of Mountain Dew and crusty plates.
