There has been zero official confirmation of anything Return to Ostagar related in over a week, and that's just for the XBOX. There's been nothing said about the PC version or the PS3 version in over a fortnight. I don't think Bioware are likely to give another estimation on a release date - they've been burnt too many times.

Someone hypothesised a while ago after Chris Priestly told us of the original delay that Return to Ostagar may be getting rolled in with the expansion; Awakening.

I doubt they'd roll DLC in with a full-blown expansion, however, it wouldn't surprise me if Bioware used the Awakening hype to fuel DLC sales in the weeks prior to it's launch. So, the official launch of Return to Ostagar may not happen for another month or so... if at all. It's been a complete debacle, unfortunately. Everything from piracy, to botched release dates, to Microsoft ballsing up and releasing it early - Return to Ostagar is cursed.

Like I said, DLC for Bioware seems to be like kryptonite.

The last two major faux pas have been caused by Microsoft, however. Bioware must be livid.

Hey, thanks for all the data.  I'll look for news tuesday, and when the home page still says "coming soon" i'll stroll on over here.  T1I, I hope and pray you are wrong.  If Bioware used "RtO" to boost the expansion, it would be both a shame and crime.  I expect new DLC for the expansion.

so, to be truthful, are we gonna see if there is a fix in the works? i dont care about RTO or whatever DL content or expacs they want to push out, they can debug them for a month for all i care, when are we getting a fix for the base game? my stuff is still locked out and the game is just not much fun to play without some specializations. i think they should fix the screwed update so we can at least get that back. ive been waiting for 2 weeks trying to be patient but its just getting more and more aggrivating by the min.

Ahah I can't believe Microsoft screwed up just again and flipped the switch to open the floodgates of the Mass Effect 2 DLCs earlier, and for free. Maybe it's time to review your relationship with them, Bioware? Just a thought

I laughed. I didn't snag the downloads in time before they were pulled. Though considering how overpowered the DA:O bonus items are I'm not all that worried about it.

Hopefully we at least get an update today on the status of RTO since come midnight tonight I'll be knee deep in geth and it prolly won't matter much at that point.

I am also hoping for an update today. Hoping for a release is probably (IE: for sure) too much, and it's a pity.

I'm actually quite wondering if Bioware is just going to sit on the finished content to let the crowd steam off on the Mass Effect release craze, to release it maybe in 2-3 weeks for now. That would be quite a jerk move, but I don't discount the possibility.

Wouldn't suprised me. Would be par for the course at this point. Honestly as much as I do love Bioware's games, they are in a way taking a different route with the whole repete day 1 DLC and really more of a push on DLC in the first place. Frankly I'm starting to wonder just how much of it is actually cut content thats already on the disc in the first place. Though I suppose if all these other devs are making a killing on DLC, I can't really blame em for wanting a slice of that.

From talking with An Unnamed Source That I know (he's this guy, man), the current hold up is purely on Microsoft's part. After the last release, they're dragging their heals in the testing process. Everything will come out when microsoft releases it from certification.

You guys are indeed wiser than the people on the forum at gamespot; for the pc version of Mass Effect 2. Most people there insist this was just a leak and that they did not intend to release this material. The few people that question this (add RTO to the equation) are instantly branded as fanboys and dead wrong; saying "since when has the pc version ever gotten boned by bioware." I cant believe people are so ingnorant and just blindly follow the masses, and cant put the two together. Mistakes like these are amature mistakes, and people working on this stuff at Ms are far from (for the most part).


I am not trying to bash anyone's opinion, but when people cant put the facts together, which are right in front of them, it just amazes me. Also putting down fellow fans with insults (who have facts), and trusting MS/Bioware (without facts), further amazes me more!

Sorry to rant, but man people can be cold and clueless at times.

Yeah, their public relations abilities have been a bit lacking.  Heck, they didn't update their store to say that the DLC wasn't out until the middle of last week.

By the way, If that was the case, I find it extremely funny that after two blatant contract breaches from Microsoft (the "release" of RtO on the 13th, and today, the "release" of the Mass Effect 2 DLCs for free) Bioware would still abide by any simultaneous release deals they might have.

They're basically letting Microsoft have a stolen timed exclusive on RTO. it's quite shameful if you think about it.
