I've seriously debated that. That's how sad this state of affairs is. We may have more luck calling them to hear any sort of word from them rather than sit idly by and watching the forums for any little bit as a peep out of them.

I still think it's a money issue at this point. It was supposed to be out 3 weeks ago, so they've been paying people to work on something that should have been done by now adding cost to the project. Odds are at this point less people are going to download it, so right now the profits from it have dipped a little. Add to that ME2 coming out and taking spots on the new arrivals and most popular sections on 360's for add on content. Also add into it competing dlc for another big release game in Assassin's Creed 2 coming out on Thursday taking some attention away. So there are less eyes on said DLC because I'm sure that not everyone who has DA:O visits these boards and at this point a lot of them may have moved on to other games and other things. So add in all those little things and the DLC now costing more in development than originally projected at this point it only makes sense for them to hold of on releasing it for a better window in time. It's a hard balance now though, too long and even more people who were thinking of getting it won't, out of indifference or spite, which would lead to the DLC going on sale at some point to make costs back because no one bought it at all.....just like the ME1 dlc.

If that was the case, they would only have to say so. A bit of honesty would definitely be on order <_<

no, remember, the 2 minutes it takes to update us would take too much of their valuable time, I also thought this was one of the reasons they hired that vichtor guy, but in the end it seems like hes got the easist job in the world to not report stuff except maybe once or twice a month.

They answer to other posts in the DA-Forum but they are not able/willing to give an update about the current situation. It is a shame.

From this point forward, any discussion of trolls/fanboys will get the poster a 24-hour ban. Flame wars are not allowed, so please review the site rules before continuing, and then do so civilly.

Ok, but what about giving us something that would put such discussions back in the background where they belong? We've gone quite a lot with no news. I thought you guys had some meetings this week about how to improve communication, yet, I don't see such an improvement.

We did. I put forth a proposal. It was accepted, and now we are in the process of getting me access to various databases and whatnot so that I can compile updates on a regular basis. It's coming, but a change in communication processes is not an overnight affair.

Apparently, it isn't an "over four nights" affair, either?

I paid my $5 for DLC that the customer-facing portions of the website said was released that day. I go into the game and find that, while I have my points, there is no DLC available. I have to search the forums to find out that there is no DLC ready for my spent money. BioWare took about a day to update the pages the customer would see pre-purchase of points and, even then, embarrassingly had it back to saying "available over the holiday season" that had already passed.

During all the uproar about it, you had mods closing down any discussion about the delay for awhile and non-mods who had the same board rights as mods behaving unprofessionally during their communications with customers. In a particular case, when I asked one of them for contact information for someone at the corporate HQ that I could express my concerns about their behavior to, they just continually directed me to PM the head of the boards, which he apparently expected me to be naive enough to think was the same thing. Still, when I PM'd that "evil" person, I never received a response.

Now I hear that the Mass Effect 2 DLC at launch had the same problems. No where on the customer-facing pages did it say anything about the delay. No, customers had to get to the point where they'd search the forums because they were having problems finding it to download.

I really enjoyed the Dragon Age: Origins game, until your DLC issues led me to have to encounter the people who work at the company that make it and how bad they are at running their business and handling their customers. Sadly, it has led me to not purchase Mass Effect 2 and plan to skip DA: Awakenings as well. I hope I'm part of a larger group willing to vote with their wallets.

All I can say is we gave them a chance and were rewarded with absolutely nothing! 3 delays, No communication except to say they are working on communication(I see that worked out well). Sorry but you get a black cross next to your name now! So long and thanks for the fish!

If you have a particularly good number to call them to complain, please PM me with it. I'll not likely be paying attention to the forums much in the future, but a PM will generate a direct e-mail to me. Thanks!

Right... and some spotty-faced, sugar-rushed, vitamin-deficient,  dysfunctional will answer the phone, interrupting level gazzilion on a game-boy,  and won't have clue what you are going on about ....

Let us know how well that goes .... ;)

If you want a company to notice complaints, the best you can do is mail a well written letter detailing all your issues. Do not gather signatures or anything like that: for it to have effect, the company should receive as many individual letters as possible.

Thank you bioware, I can finally get drunk over this and not get angry over it, my friends and family will probably be thanking you more than me.

As someone who managed to get the RtO in the limited amount of time it was available, I did not find it overly impressive. It was ok, but the 45 mins of this dlc isn't worth all the hassle I'm reading about. My advice: go enjoy another game while the glitches and development lag works itself out. Cheers.

and besides you guys could get off the computer, xbox, or playstation and read a book or watch a movie when the download comes out it is out for good

i love it how you don't even suggest anything like go for a walk, get outside and play xxx or spend time with friends.

You obviously know gamers far too well :P

Hehe (I get out..sometimes..I have a dog I have to :P)  well being that I deleted all my characters and am starting over from scratch, I'll still be busy with DA:O.  Personally at this point ME, ME2 don't interest me..maybe later.   Think I found the source of the error messages I have been getting ..so maybe it will work better this time around. :)

To help with an argument, when you deleted your characters, did all your achievements get deleted, or did they stay?

My achievements stayed.  But the silly server keeps downloading my old characters onto the Bio page.  Grr have deleted them 3 times. lol   Also I think I know the answer to the message error 1005 where you have too many files..as per the diagnosis page?    For some  odd reason,  the auto save has (not always) but sometimes saves from 2 times to 4 times on the same file.

That might be what was preventing my character updates on this site.  So every time I see it save multiple times I am deleting it.

I note my new character updated.  Other thing I suspect is don't save too many times over the same file.  Might be another reason it wasn't updating. I was trying to save space but now I think I'll just save two files per area, and delete the extras after I am long gone from those areas, seems  to work.

And yet another communication mishap misleading people in their purchase decisions, including Penny Arcade's Tycho:

http://www.penny-arcade.com/2010/1/25/

Maybe it's about time, especially because they ran promotional comics for this game, that Gabe and Tycho write and draw something illustrating *this* hysterical situation in which we find ourselves.

Here's today's comic to alleviate the frustration, concerning the subject of another thread on this board, that inmate whose D&D playing privileges were revoked:

And this recent one:

We're waiting for it..think he posted that 4 or 5 days ago.  Something about needing access to particular databases.   Maybe it takes awhile to get the request through whatever paper jungle they have going on there.

At any rate it would be nice hear whats up.

Can someone give me a brief update on the status of this mess? I haven't had much time to look here but last I know Bioware has virtually done NOTHING but ignore 360 consumers. I unlocked all specials only to have none after 2 playthroughs and countless hours.

As much as it pains me, I won't be purchasing any further Bioware products until this is resolved. And I LOVED Mass Effect. But I'm not going to spend good money on another potential defective product.

Rant over. Thanks.

They're working on a bug fix, have stated this will fix corrupted saves, and probably other issues for 360 users.   Last update was from Victor,  just look in the blue bioware tag outside this thread.  Click it and all you see is the mod/developer posts.

Other than that...no new information.
