It's funny. After reading all the contents about "I don't care anymore about RtO! I have ME2", the more I play into ME2, the more i realize that DA:O is superior in many aspects, and i care even more about RtO. Don't get me wrong, ME2 is a very good game, but for some reason it fails to reach the storytelling heights of DA:O. While the main character is definitely more fleshed out, for obvious reason, I really can't connect with Shepard as much as I do with my wardens.
The funniest part of it is that shepard (or at least "my" shepard) is exactly the kind of character I normally connect the best with.

I'm itching to get back to ME 2 tonight. I recruited Archangel yesterday, and was halfway through recruiting Mordin before I had to turn in.

Combine the action/fighting of ME:2 with the storyline and cinematics of DA:O, and whaddaya got?  HOME RUN BABY! Image IPB

Even more than storytelling I think the real "home run" are the characters, while i have my hopes high for Subject Zero.
Unfortunately my tastes in what you described are quite different. I'm not much of a shooter fan. I would have much rather put DA:O fighting in ME2, with the ability of fully controlling the squad and a full fledged pause function.
Also, what they called "streamlining" is really what I call "dumbing down". They removed almost all the RPG mechanics, and that really hurts my enjoyment of the game. Oh well. It's still a good game. Just not nearly as good as DA:O.

but I would guess I'm digressing.

Maybe they are adding a some to the RtO to make up for the shenanigans and to give the people who didn't pirate and are willing to use their points and money on it a little longer? That would be nice, if it is even possible.

My friend has three kids, and she finds half eaten food items in weird places all the time. LOL!

my special edition me2 is sitting up at the "local" ( in quotes because i live kind of out in the sticks, 45 minutes away from said GS ) and will stay there till saturday.
i start my 80 hours of paid vacation this saturday and didnt want to get caught up in the game without ample time to enjoy it.
i am itching to give it a spin tho, i loved me1.

There's no stats, no itemization for your companions... it's a bit depressing for an RPG fan like me... but oh well. At least the story is good so far.

Perhaps I was a bit general in my statement.  In fact, I know I was.  I do like the level of action that is involved with ME:2, but I am not that big of a shooter fan myself.  I believe that the abilities/ mechanics provided in ME:2's gameplay would be extremely beneficial for DA:O, thus adding to the excitement and making the gameplay feel more real.  I felt that DA:O's general "find an enemy, pull your weapons, hunker down, and go for broke," was very generic.  I LOVE DA:O's rich storyline and characters.  You actually "FEEL" for them, and I love it. Thus, the superiority in the cinematics. I guess I have to side with DA:O in terms of my taste of the game that I would want to play.  I would just like to see some of the qualities in ME:2 that I find far superior.  Hope that clarified a bit.  Image IPB

It's a good one. So far, much much much better than any other shooter out there for sure.

@weyrleader: I really had problems relating with your statements until I thought to check which version of DA:O you were playing. Unfortunately the control scheme of DA:O on consoles is completely botchered compared to the PC one, and one of the clunkiest i've seen in ages.
I most assure you that on PC is much, much more intuitive and fun.

i have both versions ( xbox and pc ) and agree and disagree with this.
the radial menu is a definite - console wise, as well as only being able to asign 6 abilities, when there are so many to gain, this i dislike.
on the other hand, when im limited on time, as in right before bed or work, or when distracted, i do enjoy being able to control with the pad way more than point and click.
not to mention the load times are less, sans memory leak etc.

edit: the mods are a definite plus tho for pc.
double edit: on the xbox side..having RTo already helps

Someone said in another thread that IGN was mentioning some date in relation to RTO, but Mr Gaider went on that thread and basically said that IGN wasn't in the know or something to that effect.

Think I'll just hang tight and see what the official word is.

Okay found what he (Mr Gaider said) was posted about 6 hours ago.

QUOTE:  "There is no official word on RtO yet. IGN is not official word."

While I'm very happy to hear the news, i feel just a lil bit "meh" at the fact that Ray decided to go tell gaming sites before actually coming to tell it to their own community.

Also, "it's almost through certification" seems to confirm that the PC version has been held on behalf of the console version, since the PC version has no certification. While not surprised, i'm sad to see a broken promise.

But yay if we get it soon! Some good news at last.

Advice I'm gonna take...

But still.... if it is true, then only a week before I can get immersed in DA:O again! Playing The Last Remnant this last while has been entertaining, but still.. not as good as DA:O

Ugh... the last remnant... as a JRPG fan that trainwreck of a game seriously gives me bad memories...
