Gay Qunari companion?

Bioware has been solid with LGBT policy, and almost every game since KotOR1 (maybe even before that) had a gay companion to romance. Or bisexual. I, however, prefer every romancable companion to be available only to one gender, partially because bisexual ones tend to fall in love with the protagonist no matter how different a male PC can be different from female. So that doesn't make sense to me, and when you create a whole race of bisexual aliens, it only makes things worse. For that reason, I didn't like how romance was done in Dragon Age 2, but I appreciate the gay-only and lesbian-only Cortez and Traynor. Since it's quite expected DA:I will be no exception regarding to gay romances, I hope they do it more like in ME3. The question is, which of the 9 companions will it be? I don't see why it should be Varric, Cassandra seems to be straight (hinted at it if you play a male Hawke), so it has to be one of the remaining seven. Why don't Bioware give us something new for a change and let the male Inquisitor hook up with a Qunari dude?

Iron Bull only accepts the finest woman. And even then, he will not enter a bed until there's at least three of them.

Why? Just because gay and just because Qunari? Is that really all the justification needed for a companion, for an NPC you'll be spending 50 game hours with?

That said, I agree with you on player-sexuality, and honestly if they get rid of that I wouldn't mind this at all. I just dislike the notion of "let's have a gay Qunari just so I can romance him." Seems gimmicky to me.

I am all for companions being player-sexual. Having said that, I don't really have a desire to romance a qunari, but if someone else wants the option I wouldn't be offended if it were there.

How about a Qunari companion that isn't romanceable?

Be bold, BioWare. Tell the Inquisitor: "NO."

Well, why do people want a Qunari companion in the first place, if for no other reason than "Qunari are cool"? Even more so, why do some want a romancable female Qunari? They want fanservice, man. That, and humans/dwarves/elves have been in so many franchises they aren't interesting anymore - at least it isn't easy to make them interesting. Qunari, however, are something exclusive to DA.
What I can't quite put my finger on is why Bioware makes certain companions gay and not others. Why Leliana and Zevran, and not Alistair or Morrigan? And why are some companions non-romancable at all? I don't know what goes through their heads when they write romances, but I don't see a romancable Qunari too stretched for their standards. Not even if the Qunari is gay.

Could we please stop reducing every character to their sexual orientation? It's REALLY starting to anger me.

No you didn't. I have no issue with the nature and content of any specific romance. What I object to in Mass Effect is the ridiculous imbalance in favour of content for straight males.

But on BSN the only important questions about a character are
- Can I bang it
- Who else will it bang
- What does its sweat taste like

Seven potential sex partners for straight male Shepard. Four for lesbian Shepard and only two each for straight female Shepard and gay male Shepard.
