Return to Crossroad Keep BUG

so i just go the quest to meet sir neshel or w/e his name is at crossroad kee with Zhjaeve, however upon going to crossroad keep nothing happens, and when i go to the courtyard and to the front door and try to enter it it says " you may not leave right now." i've tried leaving and coming back and also reverting to a previous safe before the quest but nadda. anyone know a script to just fix it or skip to next part idk?

My memory is fuzzy, but if I recall at that part Sir Nevalle should be in the tavern at Crossroad Keep, and you'd talk to him there.

i ran all around crossroad keep, nothing there, is it still supposed to be all in ruins too since the battle with garius there?

idk that doesn't really sound like my problem but it is similar, also i can't use the methods he offered to fix, as his method was to simply just load a previous safe file it looks like and i can't do that as my earliest safe file is the same place i'm at, hoping someone had a script or something to just skip the quest or is it that im bugged cause i have 2 mental bonuses silver shards?

Pretty sure every game I've played I've had 2 mental shards so I don't think that's a cause of any problems. It's something else. It's a really good idea to make lots of saves with this game. I keep saves for the start of each chapter, when I start an area, when I start a quest, when I return to base, and 2 alternating saves during a quest. I've rarely really run into a game halting bug but it's good to have the fallback position. The problem with manually firing scripts to try to solve broken events is that it can sometimes just compound the issues until you end up with a completely unplayable game.

metatheurgist is right, the extra shard has nothing to do with it.

More information is needed, though.

First, let's backtrack a little. When you slew Garius' minions, a cutscene was supposed to fire showing him and his wizards getting soulsucked by some shadowy rays. Then there is a short convo with Vale where he says (approx.) "What in the hells was going on here?" Neeshka (if there) says, "Who cares, let's loot the bodies," and Vale replies with "We should go inform Nasher." You then say "Let's go," or "We should search first." Did all this happen?

When you decide to go, you talk to Vale and you see a cutscene of the bodies rising from the fires. The program then does a new area load and you're in Capt. Brelaina's office; Brelaina and Aldenon are talking, then you jump in for a bit, then you're in the cell talking to Zhjaeve, then Nevalle comes in and joins the convo. At that point, the cutscene ends and the party selection box opens. Again, did this all happen?

Now you go out to the Merchant Quarter and head to the town gate. When you click on that, you should immediately get an AutoSave, then the World Map opens and you go to Crossroad Keep. Did this all happen - including the "go to Crossroad Keep" part or did you stop somewhere else?

Upon arrival at CK, what do you see? Are the bodies still laying around? Is there a guard at the archway who says "Greetings, Captain" when you talk to him?

Inside, either immediately on spawning or on stepping on a trigger that is one or two steps ahead, a cutscene should launch wherein Nevalle tells you about the Keep being rebuilt, introduces you to two people, Kana and Master Veedle, and so forth. This obviously didn't happen, but what did? Is Nevalle there? Are Kana and Veedle there? Can you talk to any of them? Can you go into the tavern?

One quick thing to try is to load that AutoSave where you're still in the Merchant Quarter, go to the Flagon, leave again with just Zhjaeve and go on to CK.

Alsos -  where exactly are you in your oldest save?

yep all that happened, the cutscene, the talking to capt brelana, everything, upon heading out to merchant quarter i go to the world map exit and travel to CK upon arrival the castle is still in ruins, bodies of dead farmers are still around, and when i go up to the castle doors to try to enter them it says you may not leave right now. oh and there's no one arround at all, i've only brought Grobnar, Khaelgar, Zhjaeve and Sandra (free npc)

My oldest save is right after talking to Capt brenna in the office...after the whole fiasco of killing garius =( ...basically not old save at all =(

That info definitely helps narrow it down. You're going to the old, brokedown CK, not the new, rebuilding CK. Your problem is probably World Map related, and may be as simple as setting a variable correctly (or perhaps not, but let's keep the good thought). I'll see what I can dig up.

p.s.  What did you end up doing about Ahja on the docks?

oh yea, i had help from KevL who gave me a long debugmode script to bypass the Sea ghost quest bug and fix it easy.
