[Wizard of Ox]

We've all experienced that moment when, unsecure about our ability to carry a team through gold and clutching waves, we restricted ourselves to a few kits we were sure to get the job done with, albeit not understanding all the game mechanics at the time. Some are still in the process of learning gold and are welcome to share as well. Who knows? maybe you'll get some ideas. 

Mine were:
QME - still one of my best kits (Venom ftw!). Used mostly the Talon on him, talks about OP, huh? 
QMI - made me improve my Claymore and aiming skills so much. 

Ok, I used other kits, of course, but those where my go-to kits when the lobby did not looked too good. So, what were yours BSN?

The first kit I ever carried a gold game with was my Geth Engineer. I never looked back.

I started off using nothing but the AIU, TGI and krogan vanguard. Only started using the GI at quite a late stage (600 hours or so). I still rely on the TGI to clutch platinum games with pugs, I can use anything when playing with friends.

Pretty much this. Even then I would sometimes switch it back up to the Widow til I upgraded my BW. Good times indeed.

I used whatever I want, because I was a FBW/G/G farmer.

Once I actually moved on to playing Gold without being a camping stupidface, I used the Kroguard.

Pity I don't use it as much anymore.

I loved using the AV with Pirhana in Silver and I did the Cerb Challenge.

So the AV became my Gold Kit, and was the first kit I extracted on Gold.

I still play it (played it tonight) and although it's not a crutch for me, I can still clutch the odd wave.

These days if the PUG looks dodgy I tend to take the super Crutch TGI. SO shoot me!

Was a QFI here too, if I remember correctly - max sabotage backfire damage (back when tech vulnerability was high), paladin (the pistol) + AP ammo, duration cloak - always felt so safe - cowardly but safe.

But then they made the N7 shadow, and sabotage took (yet another) hit, so I dropped that build in favour of sniping.

From memory the MQI . Tactical cloak and arc grenades will get you through . Can't remember the last time I played him.

Pretty much my thoughts.  Though I hadn't long unlocked the Valkyrie as I moved up so she got a fair amount of use as well.  

Same for Platinum.

Salarian Infiltrator, so long ago that he was the most OP kit

First with the Widow but then I realized the glory that is Claymoar.

The Drell Adept, Human Sentinel, Asari Adept, Turian Sentinel, and Drell Vanguard.

All are excellent classes and each teach something very important about playing the game--including on platinum.
