Is that a female "kossith/qunari" here, as the Inquisitor?

I think you're right that this is concept art of a female kossith Inquisitor. That said, it's just concept art. Lots of ideas are thrown around during the development process that don't end up in the final game.

I would be super thrilled if kossith as a playable race were to become a reality, but to echo the sentiments of many others in this thread, I'm not getting my hopes up.

That's either a mask or some sort of circlet/crown she's wearing. The two points of the "horns" fuse together unnaturally, and are too smooth to be actual horns. Qunari horns have ridges, and with the exception of Iron Bull's enormous horns, they tend to slope backwards, not stick up like two little triangle points.

Edit:  Upon closer inspection, I am 99.9% sure that it's a mask.  It looks like a fox mask to be specific.  The two points are ears, and the snout  of the fox mask goes over her nose.

Orlesian fashion is frakking weird.

I doubt it's a female Qunari not Kossith, and it's probably just some women with a mask on but who knows.

Looks like it could be to me. The erect posture, the pale skintone, the white hair ... I really, really hope it is.

Others probably see it too, but there's a color discrepency between her lower face and the area above it. It's obviously a mask when you look closely at it!

Where is that picture of the mask from? Is it Dragon Age related? If so, mission achieved and bubble burst.

But even if the kossith aren't playable, female qunari had better appear in this game!

(And not just one, either, as happened with the Turians and Krogan in ME3.)

The same effect is present in her clothes. For instance, the cape surrounding her shoulders is of a much darker red that that of the piece of cloth on her waist so, I'm inclined to believe that is simply due to a trick of the light.
The shapes that look like hornes plust the white hair leads me to believe that is, indeed, the concept art of a female Qunari Inquisitor. On the other hand, I doubt this means they'll be included.
The devs said they were considering so, this artwork could just be an example of what it might look like if Qunari were a playable race.

Nah.
I just googled 'fox masquerade mask' and picked the first picture that popped up.  It happens to look very similar to the one she is wearing.

You're probably still right about it being a mask. As qunari as she looks, the "horns" look wrong. They stick up like points from the front of the head.

I think the artist might even have originally drawn a kossith and then intentionally muddled that part of the face, transforming horns into a mask so as not to get fans hopes up.

I disagree. There is no color difference that cannot be attributed to shadow. However there are some bumps behind the "mask/pointed parts" also. Bigger decreases detail, so it could be just hair. It could really go both ways.
Make a guess and stick with it you'll be right or wrong I bet.

After looking at the picture *again* -- I've changed my mind ... again. The "horns" are small, but I think they do curve backwards a bit.

I'm back to thinking this could be a kossith.

Anyway, it's not that important. What matters is what we get in the final game.

Edit: I can see the fox mask and the kossith horns, depending on my perception. It's like one of those trick photos.

Lmao.
There shall be no female kossith. The only kossith in the game will be the muscular dude in the trailer/screenshots.
The "horns" in the image clearly have two slightly lighter gray shapes within them. These are the inner portion of the fox ears.

What you see as differently coloured portions of a mask just seems like lighting to me, to be honest.
The upper part of her face lies in shadows, while the horns thanks to their form capture a bit of light on their surface.

In other words, I do think it may be a female Qunari inquisitor, but that doesn't mean they'll be playable.

(Though I'd be willing to wait until 2015 if it meant Qunari would be a playable race...:crying:)

That would be awesome to have the Qunari as a playable race, but I don't expect it to happen.

It doesn't look like "regular" qunari horns too.

(it's not a mask either)

It's a mask. You can even see the strap if you look closely.

And I hope you're right. Executing people while wearing a fox mask is kinky.

In any case, time will tell.

(edit: I don't see the strap. And I didn't see any Inquisitor or Seeker wearing an Orlais mask yet. What's the point of deliberately hiding a potentially masked character in the shadow? making this character more visible would look like a smarter option if that was the case)

It's a Mask. I zoomed very close and without any doubt it's a mask.
Orlais fashion ?

Actually it's quite hard . Even super zoomed it's quite of blurry.

I want my female draenei!

Why are horned females (Succubus, female Qunari, female draeneis, Alexstrasza) so hot?
