What is this levolution garbage? Pre rendered explosions? Car alarms? Closing a train door with a press of a button, what? Are they f**** serious? This stuff is like 20 years old.

It's marketing.
From what I gather for kids.
The footage goes more like HEY KIDS! LOOK! EXPLOSIONS!! YOU CAN BREAK STUFF!!

We call it LEVOLUTION! You've never seen this right? What? Can't hear you. INNOVATION! LALALALALA!! INNOVATION!!!

To be honest, I agree with Caratinoid. Pretty much everything I saw in that video is old technology. Even destructible environments was done quite well previously by games like Red Faction(and it's just not the same without a magnet gun).

Maybe they're doing some of the things slightly better than people did in the past, but it's hardly anything ground breaking.

Also for the horde mode style of ME MP that we currently have, destructible environments would quickly go from "this is kind of neat" to "oh god why did they do this?" when you have nothing around that can even give you soft cover.

mostly I'm just hoping the next game is actually as good as this one...if they can just pull that off I'll be happy.

Everyone knows that.

But I wasn't talking about that.

I was poining out that things like really hazardous weather, massive destruction or flood a map in some way would be cool things to have added in the next Mass Effect.

Also was poining out the lot of possibilities this new engine could bring to Mass Effect, we know that for BF4 it will bring stuff that have been out there since snes but that's because Battlefield is a shooter, Mass Effect is different, bigger and with much more variety, therefore more posibilities to be explored.

I don't know you, but i am positively looking foward to the next Mass Effect knowing how cool this engine can look like.

Also that engine looks really sweet.

1. I don't remember it being done to this scale in a multiplayer environment.
2. Yeah, it's not ground-breaking and the name is pretty stupid.
3. Moderation, man. I'm pretty sure they won't allow you to level the entire map. That'd be retarded.

Being able to flood the map, etc etc etc.

Balancing this would be a nightmare. Also, endless possibilities for griefing.

Red Faction did have multiplayer in it although not really to the level of Battlefield. That's just one of the things they did slightly better.

I'm not even talking about destroying the entire map. Think about a hack in the middle of London on wave 10.

Now think about what little cover you have in that spot being already being destroyed would do.

Eh, it might be neat.

Not something I would say is a must have. I would rather there be actual cooperative missions.

I don't think they have real destructible environment like Red Faction did, it's just something developers can program like being able to blow open a certain wall at certain point, not the whole level.

Biotics + destructible/manipulable environments = lift/move around pieces of the map rather than simple direct damage and explosions.

Who...said anything about entire maps being destructible?

I get where you're coming from. But you're thinking about how it would work with this title, which already has a lot of questionable design decisions in a lot of areas.

That's just blatant favoritism. The reason that lost lots FPS games are so bland is that they all try to stay "safe". The level of innovative design has nothing to do with the subject matter. It has much more to do with what the people funding your project want. That would be EA, and we all know how EA operates.

If anything i'd be willing to bet they'll try making ME4 into even more of a generic 3PS.

I would be surprised if they didn't have something like "levolution" in ME4 MP. I'm expecting everything to change pretty significantly in the next MP, especially since ME3 MP was a pretty bare bones first go at MP for the franchise. Given the relative success it's had (and the lukewarm reception of SP), I think they'd be putting more resources into developing the MP side of ME4... as in making it a full fledged MP game with multiple modes.

"I'm pretty sure they won't allow you to level the entire map" sounds suspiciously like talking about destroying the entire map, which are the exact words you said as a counter-argument to my point.

Let's assume that Mass Effect 4 has horde mode in it which is a pretty safe assumption even if they do add new game modes. How do you propose they have a system where you are put on a map for X number of waves where destructible cover does not become a frustration half way through the game?

See, the problem isn't really with Mass Effect 3's design. It's more with the game mode in general and having limited cover which you're expected to make use of for a long period of time.

You could severely limit how much you can destroy, but then what's the point of even having destructible environments?

We need the johns we have read about to have more cinnamon to ensure fun strife in the game. We'll include asbestos as a hazard and have a color that's simply black. Each character should come precustomized with a token user name for those too lazy for a name. I hopre the Juggernaut and all the rest of the kits return. I hope that we get prosthetic limbs as a customization option. I hope there will be a mode where we race space dragons. I hope htere will be mega-sized beasts to shoot and kill as enemies.

I hope that people will still praise the Volus. I wish for a map on one of Neptune's moons and for the feeling of being a holy avenger of space justice at times. I hope this multiplayer and the next will be legends in terms of the co-op fun there is to have. Ziegriffing that, I wish for nitrocuban ammo mods and fish drinking beer, yay. I also hope for weird fishy looking cats with wide eyes, along with a wide range of humanoid kits to choose from. I hope there's a class that throws space bagels called, "maguels". I also hope that we will have service tags added to the game to abbreviate long player IDs, like "QU67". I hope we visit strange new worlds where 78 stones wobble all the time, where valium is a substance to enhance the player character at a cost of addiction. I hope we get new missions where we protect nuclear technicians. And above all, I hope we use keratin to make highly efficient caratinoid armor.

The difference between this multiplayer and the next will be the flipping of a lightswitch, challenging the masters of this game as well, where the enemies will strike with the power of Thor, along with the players. I hope that there will be ranks, like captain. I hope we will discover mysterious new materials with mysterious names like "curunen". I hope that we will be able to recover element zero to sell for more credits to fund our activities and give players ships that they can name, like the name "Thunder". I hope that there will be kitten enemies that we can also punch. I hope the enviroments will be alien with equally alien names like "Rzibaba" and "Orpheon". I also hope there's a new gun called the "krauser" because it sounds really cool. Below all, I also hope for Ares, a mars-based map. Xperian, my hopes are indeed. I would also prefer more reactor hazard buttons because sometimes I hate everyone.

I would rather see the RNG disappear. I'd like tier system in place with the option to buy your way up with real money (cus we know EAware needs you to spend extra monies). It would make the gamplay feel more worthwhile; like I'm actually working towards something. The RNG store currently has me feeling like I'm walking in place. Spending millions to get nothing... I'm slowly getting away from ME3...
