In Africa, really? Nah bra we're still stuck on race. I do have the ability think for myself and form my own opinions though. I try not to just carry on my ancestors value/prejudice system.

Excuse you, the credits are the best thing.
I mean, I was already crying by the time the DA:O credits started and then I just kept going. I'm pretty sure some happy, upbeat song would have just pissed me off because 'Excuse me, I'm in emotional pain here stop being happy'.

...You know, I'm trying to remember a Bioware game that didn't have me blubbering all over my controller by the time the credits rolled. I'm coming up short.
Top two reasons for me crying are Bioware games and that day three years ago when my mum told me my cat died.

Swell.

Reasonably masculine fellow reporting here.

I don't mind an ending theme (Mass Effect WHYYYYYY?!) that causes me to shed a tear or two. Just don't make it sappy or....disco.

I remember leaving the Post Coronation wanting to punch Alistair, (saved the ****'s life ffs) give out manly handshakes and slaps on the back, clank tankards etc., I was fine until the 30 seconds to Mars and "This is War" came up, that did me completely.. blubbed like a big girly girl's girly thing.

I cried at the ending credits (and like a million times throughout) and I think the games wouldn't be the same without the sad credits. When playing through such a good narrative it is a shame when it ends. D A is one of the only game series that I have connected with on such an emotional level. That being said, I am a sook when it comes to most sad books/movies ;)

Ah, so many feels <3

I'm hoping this thread is at least a little tongue-in-cheek. **** society's pariochial views on what constitutes as masculine. Here's a study that says men cry at least once a month. And women like 5 times. To me both seem like a lot but w/e.

Have you ever wondered that it's because men choose to hold them in out of that false notion of "masculinity."

I've boxed, fought competetivley, won, moved to bodybuilding etc... things that men would consider...well, "manly." But hell, I don't give a ****, if I need to let go of tears I do so, regardless of what some backward washed out retard who still thinks it's the 50s thinks. (Not you, of course. And no, there is no sarcasm intended.)

When my dog/sister (yes I grew up with her, she was family) died I cried for four days straight. Letting out emotions is good for you, and I know that because I'm the kind of person who bottles stuff in.

I'll leave this here. If you didn't cry during this, you have no soul. That's not even as sad as the music prior, but it's the ending music.

But indeed, I do wish we could have some triumphant music, since we're supposed to be heroes, after all. Keep some sad tracks, sure, but give us something triumphant to make us feel like we've done something besides be depressed while killing demons and whatnot.

tbh, I don't think any other game's credits songs have left me as sad but feeling oddly complete as this. :S

Yeah, I agree... I definitely didn't cry like a girl... I cried like a manly masculine man... Who just happened to be crying like a girl... Who does the same thing every time he watches or reads the grey havens scene...

In all seriousness, if a games ending makes you cry, it's doing something right.

Dear OP,
I'm a woman and I find your post to be amazing! So what if a couple drops of awesome slipped out of your eyes when no one was really paying attention. It's all good, when I making my Shepard day goodbye in ME3 I was sobbing (like the hiccupping and shameful cough when trying to explain what was wrong kind).

I actually stopped playing ME series because of how much is made me cry. Have cried way more times playing that series than the rest of my life combined. Not even close.

And usually when I cry it's just some tears or whatever. But the first time I ever SOBBED was in the ending of my last playthrough in March. I cried for 5+ minutes like a little baby. Stopped playing since because of how freaking weird I felt afterwards.

But I'm off to resart the series sometime soon. Already know I'll cry but fudge I dont cur.

I don't get it, if a game/book/movie makes me cry, I love it even more, cause it must've been amazing.

I hope I cry playing DA:I.

Bioware's version of "I'm not calling you a liar" by Florence and the MAchine was superb. As a Florence fan I ****ed as soon as the credits rolled.

I hope we get future stuff like that in the credits, current modern day songs with Dragon Age touches to them.

Really? You never heard a song that simply...touched you? That made images spring up and movies play in your head?
Huh.
I never understoof how people manage to not get emotionally attached to fictional characters and worlds.
Guess everyone's different.

Hello and thank you for finding my post amazing :) I really don't know what to think about when I get too emotional over a video game. I sometimes think I'm taking these games way to serious, and that I'm being fool when I produce a man tear. Perhabs i'm just being insecure about the whole thing. I do appreciate the privacy I get when playing video games like DA. At least I can appricate the game in total private :)

It shows all the hate Gaider has for
dwarfs.... Seriously though, I hated Leliana's character BUT the DLC is
actually not bad, time wise it's about the same length as Witchhunt and
if you find all of the master leather works then you get some pretty
good leather armour you can wear when your chara has only 20strength but
it give like 9 protection. Also interesting story line. If you ever did
the chantry board jobs in DA2 (sketchy on the details) it has that elf
in it.

To be honest I'm not all that thrilled over dwarfs.. The only ones that I truly have respect for are Sandal and his adopted father plus Varric and Oghren. My charecters are all but religious, and so they typically get along with Leliana.

lol how can u cry in Da:O? Only time i was about to cry was when i realized how good the game was.

Talking about DA:O killing off Leliana and making it cannon would make me cry pls bioware

I hope for the Maker's sake killing off Leliana and making it cannon would be the end of Dragon Age. Shes my second favorite female charecter in DA.

But yeah, I see nothing wrong with emotional end credit music. I find it very nice most of the time. I can still remember how I felt when hearing 'Into the West' with Annie Lenox after seeing Lord of the Rings: Return of the King in cinemas. Such a perfect song that gave such an emotional weight to the end of the trilogy.

Guess everyone's different.

There were songs that touched me, like, " aww this is beautiful ", but that's about it. Music alone does not have much effect on me unless it is coupled with other factors.

Otherwise, I can be emotionally attached to fictional characters and worlds as well. I never once cried because I was happy either. I am more sensitive to drama I can see with my eyes, personally. Hero's death, sacrifice, bad things that happen to characters I do like, or couples broken because of fatality. Game of Thrones, and Spartacus have managed to shake me emotionally for example.

So, I think I can be relieved not to be one of those that you do not understand. :P

By the sound of your post you apparently are not a big fan of music, and cannot appreciate the sound of the art. While I do not wail over all of the music I listen to... only certain ones that I find to be very touchy, and DA: O's credits ST was one of it. It was the perfect pinch of spice that made it the perfect ending.

They should put this music if you screwd up in credits along with showing chaos and destruction caused by demons most awsome ending in history!

Well i even liked leliana until they changed her into total religious psycho in da 2 and chantry versions tallis with that difference that tallis at least have doubts leliana is blind.Well i will be pro-mage and work against chantry so she will end trying kill me so...

Gosh, if you thought that the Dragon Age credit music was emotional, you should hear the Walking Dead Game's credit song, Take Us Back.

I hardly ever cry and I was bawling like a baby.

Nope! The sad, touching music is one of the best parts of finishing a game -- and if it makes me cry, all the better!

A good cry is a really good stress relief, even if it is just over fictional characters in a fictional universe. Crying, as long as it's not excessive, can actually support emotional wellness and make you feel better in the long run. It is a way to deal with your emotional baggage (sense of loss, anger, frustration, sadness) in a non-violent way. Expressing our negative emotions is just as important as expressing our positive ones: if you feel okay about laughing, you should feel okay about crying as well.

So, in short, noone (guy or gal) should feel ashamed about crying, even if it's just because that cute nug just became dragon chew (because in most cases the thing that triggers the water works is often not what we're really crying about in the end; the straw that broke the camel's back etc.)

Also it is my firm belief that Gaider uses fan tears as creative sustenance, so we better keep 'em coming!

I HATE crying in the theatre; it's so embarrassing! LOTR: ROTK definitely got some tears out of me... bastards! lol

I'm always surprised when people say they cried over DA:O; that ending song was awesome, but it and the game had no emotional impact on me. Stll a pretty good game though.

Only game to make me cry at the end (I'm oh for three now) is ME3. Also the only game ST I've ever bought!

People cry not because their unhappy and depressed but cry because their happy.
