 i left the high dragon till quite late in the game as it was far too difficult to kill. when i eventually did do it i only had the last straw quest left, which when you go to the gallows, it automatically goes to a cutscene with orsino and meredith and then proceeds to more combat.
but i cant visit solivitis to give him the fire dragons gland, as he is at the gallows also! so i cant complete the quest.
it does say in the journal to clear up any unfinished buisness in the city before going to the gallows, but i didnt expect this.
just wanted to know what he gives you and how much xp? if this quest unlocked an achievement, then i'd be screwed.
really this cutscene should be started by talking to an npc before it happens, so that one can still explore the gallows.

I don't remember but I don't believe it's that big a deal to miss that quest as you probably suspected. I don't think it's a major quest or anything.

He gives you Urzara's Tooth necklace and 400 xp, no achievements.

Edit: and it only starts the endgame if you read the last straw letter before going into Gallows.

It happends only if you got the letter "The Last Straw" and you read it, but if you don't read it then you can finnish that Herbalist Task complitely
