So I don't know if anyone has posted the same message before but I'm going to ask since I got the time.

I played a playthrough in ME1 without recruiting Wrex in the squad. No biggy, and it's understandable since when importing to ME2, the import screen said he survived Virmire (because he wasn't there). However when I finally got to Tuchuncka, Wreav was the clan leader instread of Wrex. I became a little confused with this part of this playthrough, since I was expecting Wrex there at the clan leader seat but not friendly. Maybe it's because Wrex died at the Geth/Sovereign attack on the citadel (because he stays at Chora's den until the player decides to recruit him into the team). Or it could be a import problem since doing Mordin's loyalty mission, Malon commented that Wrex was the clan leader.

With this little problem in mind, has anyone else have recieved this problem as well? Also, will it affect the story when importing to ME3? (or will it play the story like Wreav is the clan leader default of a ME3 playthrough with no import?)

Thanks for taking your time to read this!

Why didn't you recruit Wrex? Wouldn't you expect that to cause problems in the future? Why it would say Wrex survived Virmire, however, is odd. I guess the designers never expected anyone to just not recruit him.

I have recruited him many times already in previous playthroughs. Just wanted to change things up. The only problem was the sudden change to Wreav on the imported story. Heck both Shepard and Wreav don't mentioned Wrex at all!! (Not even the mention of Wrex on the Dialog wheel appears for conversation) Maybe at this point on how I played the story Wrex isn't important to Shepard now. And why Wrex survived Virmire is that he wasn't there to be killed off in the first place. I presume he could of have been killed at the Citadel because it seems to be a logical conclusion, hence his disappearance in ME2.

Wreav being clan leader is how it's supposed to be in your case, I think. Remember that Wrex didn't care much about rescuing his people in the early conversations with him, this idea only comes during his journey with Shepard. So if you did not recruit him he just doesn't care even if he survived.
The only strange thing is Maelon mentioning Wrex as clan leader. But I guess that's just an oversight or glitch.

Yeah, there must be a TON of flags that need to be checked. Easy to see how this might be overlooked.

Heck, there is even a flag on Miranda's initial conversation with Sheppard that gets checked in ME3. If you ask her about how she would have done things different she will tell you about the control chip. Then, on the Citadel when you talk to her Sheppard mentions the fact that she talked about the control chip before. But if Sheppard skipped that dialogue in ME2 then in ME3 Sheppard's dialogue changes slightly so that the idea of a control chip is treated as new info.

This isn't an error. Wrex can only assume control of Tuchanka based on his rep from helping Shepard stop Saren.

Wrex is probably still a bounty hunter somewhere.

It wasn't mentioned if this was on PC. I always use Gibbed save editor or similar to ensure the imported flags actually reflect what I did (they are rarely 100% accurate). That said, it won't help the situation with Maelon which appears to be a glitch.
