 I loved ME 1 but was in need of money so I ended up selling it a while ago but kept my saved games because I heard they would be able to be imported. Now I know I have 2 saves on my xbox with my character 1 was saved just before the end of my first play through and the other I believe was when I started a new game with my character. I cant seem to identify which save is which or If I may have saved over the save of my first play through. If I did save over the original with the unfinished 2 play through will I still be able to load my character? I havent played the game in so long I cant even remeber how the save system worked, and I want my sheperd to have Wrex as a partner as I kept him alive in the first game and wanted to Krogans to smash things up. But was just wondering how the importation works and if they will give a way to identify which character is on the save. Thanks

i know but i need help cause i want to figure out if i accedentally saved over my first play through with my second playthrough with the same shep (even though i hadnt beaten the secon play through) if it would still recognize the completion of the game from the first time around and let me import

As far as I know, you can only import the auto-save at the very end. If you only have manual saves, you're out of luck. On the other hand, that special auto-save can't be overwritten by yourself, so you might be lucky. On the PC those files can easily be identified by their filename, don't know about consoles.

Now go and buy ME 1 again. You've still time for one playthrough at least.

You can't save over the end-of-game saves. If you are on the device that has your ME saves on it (or one that had them transferred to it via a hard drive transfer cable), you're golden.



If you want to make extra certain, you can rent or buy/return a used copy, just check the main title screen. If you are given the option to use an existing ID, those are the end-of-game saves right there. If not, you'll have to start ME2 without the benefit of your import.

They're tied to the device that you originally had your profile on. If your 360 profile was on the memory card, then you're fine. If not, they won't transfer.
